Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Calheta

We had a great time at the house. Kevin reacts fast on questions. Location is great with an amazing view on the ocean. Our kids enjoyed the garden room and the garden itself. Small improvements are possible to make it great: the garden room is not "air tight" so insects can easily go inside, since it was raining a lot before we arrived there were a lot of small millipede insects inside (even after removing they were there already a couple of hours later). And not all pictures show the current state (some accessories are not there anymore). Besides those things we had a perfect time and would recommend the house :)

My partner and I stayed at Villa Limoeira with another couple. It was perfect for our group! Breathtaking views, a clean and comfortable home, and excellent local recommendations. Also, there’s a heated swimming pool where you can watch the sun set over the ocean, so that’s pretty awesome. Calheta is a quiet and picturesque area with easy access to many of the best hikes and nature on the island! Would recommend renting a car, but there is a great local restaurant within a 5 minute walk from the villa. Wish we could have stayed there forever. 10/10 would recommend!

This chalet is absolutely beautiful! It was exactly as pictured - if not more lovely in person. It was peaceful, clean, and so cozy! We enjoyed making a fire in the fire place when it was cold and rainy. Ana was so responsive and let us check in early and was helpful giving directions and gave great recommendations for places to eat. Hot shower, comfortable bed, washing machine, full kitchen - everything you need! There are, however, some pros and cons with the location to consider. This is a remote property in a small village - which is what makes it so pretty, unique and peaceful. It’s also off the main road on the way toward Pico de Areiro which is great if you’re spending time in this location hiking, canyoning, etc. However, keep in mind it’s very remote. I really did not like driving back there late at night and was a little uneasy sleeping there at night because it felt so remote - but if that doesn’t bother you, I couldn’t recommend this place enough! We would stay again!

We absolutely loved being right on the ocean! It was within feet of the house!- with the waves crashing and the patio where we ate all our meals, provided an excellent ambiance for our trip. We stayed 6 nights and were so glad we didn’t move around to other places. The promenade next to the house is very scenic and offered a one mile round trip walk along the ocean . Watching the surfers was also a plus.

Our stay at Casa Nobrega was simply magical. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed — the thoughtful gift waiting for us was such a lovely surprise and really set the tone for the rest of our stay. Our hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful, available whenever we had a question but also respectful of our space. The house is fully equipped with everything you might need, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. What stood out most was the absolute peace and quiet — just birdsong and ocean breezes. The rooftop patio was the highlight for us: sipping wine at sunset with panoramic views of the sea and mountains felt like something out of a dream. The photos don’t do it justice. This is a rare kind of place — beautifully maintained, filled with charm, and surrounded by nature. If you’re looking for serenity, comfort, and a truly special stay in Madeira, Casa Nobrega is it. We’re already dreaming about coming back!

Pedro is the best thing about this place the man is a legend really kind and helpful goes over and beyond. The place is so nice pool is amazing with fantastic views. I can not fault the place. Over three floors we had 12 people in it and didn’t feel cramped. Book this place you will not regret it

This was a delightful place to stay. Very private and so many facilities for a small place. Beautiful views, swimming pool and honesty bar. A total hidden gem.

We really liked the apartment, it is just like in the photos and we had everything we needed. The hosts were lovely and very welcoming. Everything was clean and comfortable, and we had a private parking. They even left us some homemade cookies, fresh eggs from the garden, and bananas. Highly recommended!

An unforgettable stay! Christina and Aleixo are exceptional hosts. They spontaneously picked us up from the airport and took us back again - an incredible service! Thanks to their help, we were able to rent a scooter easily and without hidden costs. Together, we ate in local restaurants and experienced the island authentically. The accommodation was even more beautiful than described – clean, lovingly furnished and equipped with everything. But what made this vacation really special was their warm, almost family-like manner. They were always available, had great insider tips for excursions and simply took care of us in a touching way. We didn't feel like guests, but like friends. Thank you for this wonderful time - we will be back!

it was a really very nice big house with a paradisical balcony and a magnificent view over the whole village at less than 300 meters high. You have to have a car very clearly,otherwise it could be problematic. It actually gets cold at night and in the morning, but there are at least mobile heating devices in the apartment. Unfortunately, we also noticed cockroaches in the direct reference, but after we removed 5 pieces, we didn't have a problem with it anymore

We had a pleasant stay at Ivone and Garry's. The apartment has an amazing view of the sea and everything you need. We will definitely come back for a future stay in Madeira!

This accommodation is a peaceful, secluded gem surrounded by beautiful nature. Though tucked away, it’s still close to major attractions. The view from the kitchen is stunning — perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. Marco was very communicative and responded quickly to any questions. A great spot to relax and recharge! Thank you!

I really like it It is necessary to keep in mind only the path that Google Maps gives us but once we know the right way, nothing to point out!

It was just the way we expected, too bad the jacuzzi needed so much time to warm up that we didnt use it.

We loved our stay here, very comfortable apartment and stunning location. Gary met us on arrival and responded within minutes with any issues. it's lovely and peaceful but it was a nice bonus to have a few local restaurants and small shop in walking distance. Definitely recommended!

The house exceeded our expectations. It is very modern and the pictures online illustrated the property perfectly. The location was perfect for us - located within a couple of minutes walk from a levada. It was so quiet and peaceful with lovely views from the upstairs patio. The property was very well equipped with everything you could need. Although it seems quite isolated it is only a ten minute drive to Calheta with lots of bars and restaurants. Fernando and Nelia were very accommodating hosts and were very generous in leaving fruit, eggs and other treats for us on arrival. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi which was very welcome after a hard days walking. We highly recommend this property.

We had a lovely stay in this accomodation. It was nice to explore an area outside of Funchal and was a good base to explore around the island. The place was very clean and the view was stunning. The hosts were very kind and friendly at both check in and check out. I would highly recommend!

The accommodation corresponded to the photos, the host was friendly and provided us with a lot of recommendations, upon arrival we were greeted with local fruit and wine as a courtesy and also vegetables from their farm. I recommend

We loved our stay at the rock villa's. We were very sad to leave - we hope to have the opportunity to return. The villa itself was beautiful (as pictured in the ad), clean, comfortable and very well equipped with everything we needed. Fabrice was a superb host, friendly and attentive. The location was great, easy enough to find and very peaceful. The view was magic.

Everything was perfect. The cottage is overcomplete. It is not a holiday home but a home. Contact with the host will be picked up quickly and clearly. The view is stunning. The wifi is good, the children were very happy with that.

Martin was great at communicating and the home was beautiful. The views from the hot tub are spectacular! Would stay here again.

Unbelievable view and house, we had such a great stay here enjoying the pool and all the location had to offer. Madeira was such a beautiful island to explore and was great to come back and relax at Rui’s house after exploring. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a private place with a great view of the ocean.
