“We very much enjoyed our time at the carriage house. It had everything we required and suited our needs of a mountain getaway well. You are well located between many outdoorsy things to do in the area. Leslie and her family are very welcoming. Their house is right there, but we very rarely saw them. We were there over the 4th and she graciously offered sparklers to our kids (who were thrilled). Leslie always responds right away through the AirBnB messages. There is no cell service (at least for my AT&T) but the Wifi kept us connected as we needed to be. The animals at the farm are great and provided a lot of joy to my children, especially the friendly grey cat. There is a tree swing behind the house & a nice path down the hill through the woods to the river. We brought life jackets, water shoes and tubes for the kids and they had fun jumping around on rocks as well as splashing around down there in the evenings after returning from our adventure of the day... they even rode their tubes around safely. The deck is wonderful to enjoy the mountain air any time of day, which was a welcome respite from low country heat & humidity in July. This was the perfect getaway and some friends even joined us for the second half of our trip in the lower apartment. Excellent way to be "together, apart" during the Covid era. We have already started discussing dates to return. I can't imagine even looking for another place to stay in this area. We are ready to become regulars.”
Nestled on the slope of the ridgeline running above Boone, NC lies Chalet Ruisseau. Surrounded by hardwoods and with the Doe Fork running through your backyard you feel hidden away in the heart of the Blue Ridge, even though you're minutes from town.
“Marks place was fantastic!! I would definitely recommend getting away from it all and staying here. Its truly something special! We really enjoyed hanging in the hot tub, listening to the sounds of the creek, and admiring the beautifully landscaped backyard. We couldn't believe how many alive and thriving plants there were all throughout the house. That's a true Airbnb treat. The place was spacious and cozy and it had everything we needed for our stay --- kitchen was fully stocked - even had spices and cooking oils. No internet TV but it was actually pretty fun escaping the all you can watch TV and hunkering down with a throw back DVD. Mark was a very thoughtful and communicative host..... check in and out was super easy. Def stay here if you can!”

“What a magical place to escape the craziness of the world! Our 3-night stay was exactly what we needed to unwind & I think the pup liked it, too. Chad's place is close to downtown Boone and Blowing Rock, amazing hiking, and great restaurants. The grounds are absolutely stunning and I really didn't want to leave. We can't wait to come back!”
