Family-friendly holiday rentals in Athens

Very peaceful and beautiful place, my family and I enjoyed it so much, my 70 old father and the adult grandkids said that is the new family vacation spot for summers when we go to visit our daughter. Very rustic, but well taken care of property. My dad loved the coffee they provided.

What the listing doesn't say is that this is a GREAT FISHING place!! We caught lots of catfish, bass, crappie, and some perch. it was very quiet, which was odd for such a fantastic place. This is a hidden gem! We will be returning. Hands down ... FANTASTIC!

I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this place!!! This house was gorgeous and very well-kept! The owners thought of everything that travelers may need. They also had various snacks, movies, and games for the children. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The owners have bird feeders up, so it was really nice getting to see all the birds flying around the backyard. There were so many beautiful cardinals and we saw 1 blue jay. Stephanie and Jan were such friendly and amazing people! Whatever we needed, they always answered quickly. The home was very comfortable and we had such a good stay! We were even allowed to have visitors! Most of the Airbnbs that we have stayed at did not allow visitors, so it was nice to be able to have our family over. We will definitely stay here again!

We drove over there from New Braunfels for a wedding. The home was able to accommodate our multiple families comfortably. We loved the quiet, peaceful atmosphere all around. The pool was amazing and the place had everything we needed the entire stay. We had no need to go explore the town and just enjoyed the time we had. Briana was very helpful when I had questions and responded within minutes. She was amazing, attentive and friendly. We will definitely be booking there again in the near future.

My husband and I rented this cabin for 3 Days 2 nights anniversary stay. We really enjoyed the seclusion of not being super close to Neighbors, surrounded by trees and nature. It was very peaceful and Serene. The cabin had many amenities to keep us entertained while having romantic evenings. We loved the vaulted ceilings, the large porches, the hot tub, the porch swing was one of my favorite places to sit, and we loved the large two shower head shower. It was also cool that there was trails to the pond and other games to play in the coffee table. We had such a good time there and would recommend this cabin for any reason to go stay there. We hope to return in the future!

Wow! What a blessing to own this home. There was everything and anything that you could ever need and more!!! Such a good feeling to drive 6 hr for your sons graduation and not have to worry about anything and just enjoy family time and be comfortable. Plenty of everything! I would give it a 10 star if I could. The one and only bad thing is the having to leave ha! Thank you for sharing your home on such a special time of our lives! Will keep this memory forever <3

Peaceful getaway. We enjoyed our stay in the family cabin. The beds were very comfortable and there’s a nice back deck to sit on that’s enjoyable for morning coffee or a nice evening.

Morgan’s place is great with picture perfect lake and sunset views. The hosts are very respectful and responsive. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice getaway in the area.

I wish I didn't have a word limit, because this is the greatest AirBNB experience I've ever had. We were blown away - it so far exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect because you're 10 minutes from all the fun but you're far enough out that you feel safe, peaceful, and relaxed. The house is a dream, but the hosts and the property are what made it magical. Roland and his sweet wife are truly some of the kindest and most welcoming people I have ever encountered, I joked that I wished they could adopt us! And their property is a labor of love, built by Roland himself. Take quiet walks on the cobblestone paths and visit the cows and the fig trees, sip on coffee on the covered porch in the rocking chairs, or walk over to their little lake for a serene sunset. Truly I cannot say enough good things about this place. It has a piece of our hearts now. <3 And also, they were SO SWEET to our doggy who had just as great of a time here!!! :) Thank you Roland. We can't wait to come back.

Beautiful property. House is gorgeous. Lake view is amazing. Overall, have very few complaints about my stay. The only things I will note is there seemed to be an excessive amount of spiders by the house and ants in the yard. (I know it’s right by the water, makes sense, so not a huge complaint but one worth noting) Very much enjoyed our stay, definitely would consider returning again.

Reisa was a great host. I needed a place to stay with visiting family taking up all rooms. Right down the street and I will be a return visitor.

This was our 3rd time staying for a girls getaway! It feels so homie & we LOVE the wrap around back porch overlooking the lake! We’ll be back again…many times lol

This is our second time at the bunkhouse. We go to an SCA event at the civic center every memorial day. This is a great place for friends to gather and Cynthia is awesome.

Great location, great dock, very clean, everything we needed in kitchen and other supplies. This was our second of hopefully many visits

I had such an amazing stay at Judy's Country Cottage! Michelle was a wonderful host very friendly and helpful, she put alot of thought into the decor and every amenity you can think of. The reclining sofa and bed were super comfy. When I walked in from a long drive. Homemade cookies and muffins were there and tasted amazing! Also met her super gentle and adorable pooch, he's a gentle giant. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Just want to express my gratitude to Gerard and Ramona for the use of their place. My parents live 2.3 miles away and we wanted to have my family down from Northern VA for the holidays. This included my youngest daughter's boyfriend's family from California, who after the weekend became family as my daughter's boyfriend proposed to her at the Cowboys/Redskins game. Even though we were not there much of the time the place is much larger than the square footage indicates and the place is immaculate. Eventually my Mom and Dad will be moving to an even smaller place in a retirement facility and I plan on coming back to the Little Red cabin! On suggestion for our circumstances in particular would be to remove the materials on the driveway. Even though we had ample space to park the 42' fifth wheel RV, having the extra room would have made jockeying around a bit easier. Regardless, this place was a godsend for what my family needed this Christmas, not just in its proximity but also in its overall comfortableness. Thank you very much for providing a place that allowed so many of us to come together for an unforgettable Holiday!!

We really enjoyed our stay. Several issues cropped up and Ryan was very responsive. There was a huge thunder storm out last night and a large tree limb fell across the driveway. Ryan arrived very quickly with chain saw in hand and cleaned it up. Overall, it was a very good experience.

We came here to visit family. My husband, myself, and my newborn visited and felt right at home!!! Cindy left us fresh cookies, bagels, milk, etc! It was such a nice touch! Especially when you’re an exhausted parent!!! It was so cozy and private! It was wonderful to relax and enjoy one another’s company in the home!!! Everything was so clean and lovely! Can’t wait to visit again! Thank you so much!!! It was more beautiful than the pictures!

This was a comfy place to stay with our teen boys. It has a full kitchen with more appliances and pans than we could imagine using in a short stay! The carriage-house is tastefully decorated and suitable for men and boys as well as women (as in not completely covered in cat prints and floral patterns - lol). The hosts, Mike and Barbara, are wonderfully thoughtful and gracious. They took the time to give us a tour of the Manor House. We enjoyed chatting with them.
