Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Arenella

Sometimes I joke about not wanting to review my favorite places for fear it will make my next booking harder. But this is no joke. Francesca and Carlo have a paradise, and I’ll be working hard to get back soonest. We stayed 10 days, visiting Syracusa and Noto, Etna lava and wineries, and found it increasingly difficult to leave even for a few hours. Evenings shift from the cooing of pigeons to the plaintiff call of owls, with the sounds of waves from her almost private coast. The house is rich in family memories, and gorgeously decorated. The ceilings high and rooms airy.The kitchen a gem to use.

I highly recommend Carmelo's place. It is in an excellent location, has a comfortable space, and is steps from the water. The area is quieter at the end of the street, yet still close to everything. I would stay there again.

The place is a gem, perfect for a couple getaway. The view is amazing, and location quite close to the center (just a lot of steps 😅). Would totally recommend, if you’re not afraid of the stairs in Modica.

This home is just a few minutes from the historic center, located in a charming neighborhood surrounded by beautiful shops. The host is incredibly friendly and flexible. The space is spacious and completely private, featuring a swimming pool and a lovely rooftop setup perfect for relaxing and chilling.

We enjoyed our stay at Jacopo's place. The home is beatifull and has lots of room and space including a nice patio to sit out back. The location is "interesting"; on a big intersection but well located to use it as a base to to explore other areas (we visited Syracuse, Noto, Marzamemi) and at the same time a 5 minute drive to the lovely beach of Spiaggia Lido d'Avola. Although Jacopo was extremely helpful and responsive, a set of instructions and a list of recommendations for the area would be helpful when you arrive.

Place was really cool, central… had everything we needed and was walkable to everything…. Right across the street from the sea, amazing…

This place is an experience! Living in the old farm high in the mountains, far away from noise and rush. Me and my husband enjoyed the stay a lot! We were visiting nearby towns and beaches, which are easy to reach from Vincenzo’s place. vincenzo himself is super friendly, helpful and attentive - it was a pleasure to get to know him! We would definately recommend this stay to get an amazing experience of life in a Sicilian countryside. We really hope to come back!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this apartment in the heart of Ortigia! The location couldn’t have been better — right in the center and literally steps away from the beach. It was the perfect spot for morning swims and sunset strolls by the water. The apartment itself was spotless, stylish, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. From the cozy bed to the well-stocked kitchen and modern bathroom, every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. A special shoutout to the host, who was incredibly friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. They made check-in easy and shared great local tips that made our experience even better. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy the best of Ortigia. We’re already dreaming about coming back!

Very nice accommodation in the heart of Ortigia with a very nice roof top terrace.

Anna’s apartment is superb. It’s huge and traditional and a real treat. 3 huge comfy bedrooms and 3 big bathrooms. We stayed a week and my husband and teens kept saying “this place is so great!” The view of the water and fountain from the front rooms is incredible. You can sip coffee as you watch the local fisherman start their day. The location is ideal. We walked around the corner to the fresh market for breakfast and supplies every morning. The narrower streets of old town and the Apollo Temple are short blocks away. Hosts were helpful and responsive & I appreciated the little things that were left for us like coffee pods and really lovely shower soaps. We had a great stay and I highly recommend this apartment. Perfect place to be if you go to Ortigia - everything walking distance!!!

Enza was a great host, she was so helpful, kind and responsive. The apartment was perfect and so close to everything but down a beautiful quiet street.

The apartment is just as described , we had a couple of problems Stefania and her husband took care of it very quickly to solve it , there is a place to park it is not a minor fact in Italy , the area is super quiet , for my taste a little far from the attractions

We had a wonderful stay in Stefania’s place. The accommodation was beautiful and the attention to detail was evident throughout - from providing of extensive cooking equipment to beach towels and umbrellas. The terrace was the highlight for us and we enjoyed relaxing and cooking at the outdoor kitchen. Stefania’s recommendations were also amazing, we visited several and enjoyed them all. We loved our stay here and hope to return to Ortigia and Stefania’s place someday!

This was an amazing place to stay. We spent hours admiring the 180 degree view, so relaxing. The facilities on offer were excellent and the icing on the cake was Santi….what a host ! Never intrusive but always available with ideas and support. The best holiday ever. Grazie Mille.

Fantastic 3 weeks at Francesco`s beautiful apartment - superbly located on Isola Ortigia, an absoultely spectacular place. Lively even during winter and a number of sights (Neapolis is a must!). Went to the food market for fish and greens and made dinner at home every other day or so. Otherwise a number of very good restaurants within a 500m radius. Breakfast and lunches on the spectacular terrase, short/t-shirt at least half the days (when in the sun) even during winter. Francesco was very helpful when we needed some minor assistance with heating and dishwasher. The heating system was the best I have every come across in Italy - water heated radiators, not only the usual A/C. All in ll - spotless!

I had a great stay at this apartment! It was very clean, comfortable, and just like the photos. The owner was easy to reach and always helpful. The only small downside for me was the bed—it was a bit too soft for my preference. Of course, that’s a matter of personal taste and what you’re used to, so others might find it perfectly comfortable. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place and would stay here again without hesitation!

Such a lovely host. She gave us so many recommendations and was just super friendly! You can tell the host put their heart into the house and the experience, because there are so many thoughtful details that just make your stay so much more pleasant. Would definitely recommend staying here.

This was a fantastic base for our 5 nights in Ortigia - accessible on foot to everything we wanted to do, about 10 minutes from the InCoop supermarket which supplied us well for cooking in the small but perfectly formed kitchen. Lots of thoughtful/artistic touches, from artworks to bathroom and kitchen supplies. A wonderful place to be, great style to the apartment, with a very comfortable bed and fantastic views from all three balconies/out of the bedroom window. Having a washing machine was super-helpful too! Manuel was a very welcoming host, explaining the way things worked and gave plenty of local recommendations plus other local advice. The description is very accurate, including the 65 steps from the street to the apartment- unless this many steps will be an issue for you, I’d highly recommend booking this apartment. If I was ever to return to Siracusa I’d definitely want to stay here again.
