This house was absolutely perfect for our stay - a warm, cosy house with an excellent stock of DVDs and games to keep us entertained, and we were spoilt for choice in terms of nearby pubs and restaurants. Communication was prompt and friendly - we really can’t recommend this property enough.

Lovely house, great views, within 30 mins drive to all main south lakes sights. Communication and check in all very easy and clear. We had a great stay :)

The house was really spacious and I'm an ideal location - a quiet road but within walking distance to the village with great places to eat and convenient shops.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay, and the accommodation was clean and very well equipped. The location was great as it was approx 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Ambleside in one direction and about the same fom Lake Windermere in the other direction, and there were scenic walking routes from right outside the front door. We went by train and bus, and with a pre-arranged delivery from a local supermarket, it all worked really well.

The venue is stunning, the photos do not do it justice! Everyone has everything the need in each room with their own en suite and the grandness of the building is something else! You have so much space, the large garden area wraps around back and side and is beautiful with stunning views! Everything you could need in the kitchen and welcome bottle very kindly provided by our hosts! Plenty of entertainment and eating areas! When leaving one of our cars broke down and they were very understanding and accommodating! Perfect location, made our stay extra special!

We’re just home after a very lovely stay in the most beautiful location. Louise communicated well and provided us with a pristine place to stay with everything we could wish for to make us feel at home. The apartment has the most amazing views from every room and is very comfortable and well equipped. There are so many lovely places to visit in the area, some walkable from the accommodation, that we definitely need to visit again. We would have no hesitation in recommending this air bnb - it’s one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. Thank you Louise and Mick 😊

We had a lovely stay; the location is wonderful, surrounded by farmland with baby lambs overlooking the seating area! The apartment is very well specced and looked after, with a small garden house further up the hill opposite and an amazing river a short walk across the fields where we went for a swim. The photos do not do the property justice, it is a gem. Would definitely come back to use as a quiet base to explore the lakes from again.

We stayed here for 5 days the place is in prefect location 5 mins walk into town with great boozers and restaurants Kim is such a friendly person if the was any problem or advice she was only a phone call away Just like to say thank you again Kim🙏🏼🥂

This is a lovely ground floor flat in an excellent location, it is very well equipped with a lot of nice features and has everything you could possibly need. It is also really nice to arrive to find coffee, tea, milk, etc when you get off the bus after travelling. There is even a little garden area to sit in or hang things out to dry, which is a big plus. Would recommend. It is fantastic for one person or couple.

Robin is an exceptional host with a just as exceptional home. We ended up arriving later than anticipated at the dead of night, and also had some car issues (which he ended up rescuing us!) and he went beyond what a host would ever be expected to do. As well as providing helpful pointers on where to go & what to do. The place itself is absolutely beautiful, exactly like the photos. The log burner really makes the space for when you get home late and just want to relax and unwind. I can’t recommend this place enough, for the actual space and for what you get with Robin as a host who clearly cares deeply about his BnB and making guests feel welcome. Thanks and looking forward to coming again soon!!

This is a perfect stay for a quiet getaway. Felt very safe as a woman on my own. The flat was really clean and homely. They left a lovely card and drinks and chocolate. Lovely friendly hosts. Can't thank you enough for the stay! I highly recommend to anyone.

Enjoyed our stay at Kate's place for a second visit. Has all the amenities we needed and we can feel very relaxed there. Kate was very helpful with our booking. She dealt very promptly with one minor maintenance issue. She's a thoughtful host and there were fresh flowers, milk and biscuits to welcome us. We enjoyed chatting to Kate. Great place! Super spacious and spotless.. comfortably fit three of us. I really enjoyed the quirky style and colorful decor, and there were plenty of books and games to keep us entertained during downtime. Siobhan was very responsive and helpful throughout. The location is fantastic, easy to walk to shops and restaurants, but still nice and quiet. Plus, the views from the window were a lovely bonus!

Jay's Nest it's a great place to stay. Friendly hosts, convenient location, close to the centre of the village and many beautiful walks on the doorstep. Perfect base for those who wish to explore Lake District. The flat has home from home feel. The kitchen has all essentials and no need to wash up, dishwasher does it for you. Clean, working washing machine with dryer if needed. The seating area very cosy with nice views through windows, you can relax after a long day walking. Big bedroom with comfortable bed and plenty of space for storing your gear/clothes etc. Again, super clean, couldn't ask for more. Fair size spotless ensuite with good size shower. Plenty of space to keep what you need in the bathroom. Sadly, due to the weather, we were not able to use the outside area where having a morning coffee or evening drink must be super enjoyable. It was our first time in LD and we will be back to Jay's Nest, that's for sure. Needless to say, we highly recommend Jay's Nest!

Had a lovely two night stay, beautiful surroundings, peaceful, clean and comfortable. Able to walk to local shop and pub. Scafell Pike, beach and The Lakes not far by car Great host, good communication

Great location with easy access to most local attractions. The place was lovely and cosy, perfect for a relaxing stay. Andrew was very responsive and helpful. He kindly accommodated our early check-in even though we requested it on the day. I'd love to stay here again when I return to Bowness.

The mill is stunning - beautifully restored and tastefully decorated with everything needed. A real home from home. Beds were comfortable and bathroom spotless. Walk into Kendal took around 20 mins with some good pubs and shops in the town. My daughters and I throughly enjoyed our stay… Some noise from children in lower apartment early in the mornings was the only slight negative… Highly recommend the mill.

The Barn really is a gem. We were amazed as we arrived how beautiful and peaceful the surroundings were. Kate gave clear instructions how to get there which was really helpful as we found other times on our trip the sat nav led us astray! The barn is so cosy and beautifully furnished, you can tell it’s been done with love and is stylish but very practical too. Had everything we needed for our weekend stay. After a wet day out walking coming back to a hot shower and putting on the wood burner was amazing! We loved our stay and would absolutely come back.

The property was a home from home. It was absolutely beautiful with an amazing garden and view. The property had everything we needed. The hosts communication was clear and proactive leaving no uncertainty about what to expect. The surrounding area is beautiful and the property itself very peaceful. Would definately stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay here at Whitbarrow. The apartment was lovely, with the special addition of the balcony overlooking the beautiful views, which we enjoyed with a cuppa or two. Our boys loved the toys and the drawing that was available to play with but, of course, their highlight was the pool. Local distance to Lowther, buttermere, Penrith, pooley Bridge, Keswick etc so lots to do. We’ll be back soon! 🙂

My son and I came up for the week to enjoy the lakes for the first time and to hopefully see some low flying jets. We were not disappointed on either count! Paul was very friendly, welcoming and a superb host and the beautiful accommodation was perfect for us. Very spacious, clean and comfortable, with a delightful balcony to sit and enjoy breakfast or snacks/drinks at. The shower and bath were fantastic too! We travelled by train and was pretty straightforward to get to, and everything was within comfortable walking distance. The bus service was excellent too, allowing us to travel to Keswick and further if we wanted to. Thoroughly recommend.

We were impressed by how well-appointed the kitchen was — we were able to cook breakfast and dinner with no problems. Host communication was top-notch. Always really responsive and friendly. They let us check in a bit early as our train got in an hour before check-in. The location was good, easy walking distance to shops and to Bowness, far enough from the main road to be quiet. Overall we were pleased with our stay.
