Smoking friendly holiday rentals in Zanzibar

We stayed for 5 weeks (!) at Culture & Alessandra's place and we absolutely LOVED it. Although we booked another apartment, we were really happy with the one we got. The location is phenomenal, as it is literally less than 2 minutes walking to the beach. Yet it feels very private because the house is on a dead-end street. The apartment is simple, but fully equipped. We felt right at home. Alessandra is truly the very best and sweetest host you could wish for. She helped us a lot with renting a motorcycle, making restaurant reservations and even took us to the hospital when (unfortunately) needed. Their dog Bantu often walked with us to the beach or came to lay with us on the porch, so cozy! We did have some problems with the AC - we couldn't get the room cooler than 26 degrees and it often failed because of power cuts (a general electricity problem in Zanzibar). Funny enough, 5 weeks still felt too short, so we hope to come back and then we will definitely stay here again.

This is a fantastic place to stay! Saidi was excellent with communication. The area is fantastic to relax and he was so helpful with checkout and very reliable. My favorite stay in Zanzibar 😍

very well equipped and comfortable apartment and above all very well located a few steps from Paje beach and its center too. the host was adorable and very friendly. he knows absolutely everything on Paje what to do and what to avoid. I was very well assisted and I will defenitly book his place next time i go to Paje again.

Great location with restaurants and markets nearby. Walking distance to airport. I felt very welcomed, had a good privacy I wanted and all I asked was delivered. Thank you

Second time staying here as first time Hamid was helpful and communicative. Really love this place as it’s clean and everything works exceptionally well and there’s lots of amenities that make it feel like home. Fukuchani Inn is wonderful - the staff is pleasant, kind, and very willing to help with whatever you might need. Everyone was friendly and we had a wonderful stay. The Inn is right near the ocean, a quick little walk to a beautiful (albeit rocky) beach, and it's very close (about 15 mins) from Nungwi beach. And the pool is lovely! We stayed in the 2-bedroom Villa and it was perfect for my family, plenty of space and very clean. And of course I have to mention Daisy, the basset hound!! Such a friendly and good girl :) We would love to come back one day - overall, great stay :) Friendly reminder to travelers, Tanzania and Zanzibar often have power outages, and this includes A/C - but they only lasted a few mins each time, and the staff aims to provide as comfortable a stay as possible.

Marram Villas, Nassier, and his amazing team rescued me from a nightmare stay that I had to leave after just one night. I lucked out and got a same day booking for Marram and was able to check in early. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such grace and hospitality, which is especially impressive as we were totally unexpected. I'm forever grateful to Nassier, Magaret, Anheta (I might have that wrong), and others for taking such good care of us. I honestly didn't want to leave. Nassier checked in often and was truly so kind. The breakfast was amazing and abundant and the dinner options were fantastic (especially the octopus) -- there was so much to choose from including local cuisine. The place is spacious, clean, smells amazing, and is so modern yet comfy. There is nothing that the host did not think about including a water cooler to refill water bottles. If ever I'm back in Zanzibar, I'll definitely stay at Marram Villas. I can't say enough nice things.

My stay at this beautiful property in Zanzibar was incredible. The house is truly a dream—spacious, elegant, and equipped with all the amenities you could wish for. Beautiful home in the heart of nature. Recently built Manuela's house is very comfortable and its garden with pool very nice! Manuela and her team are very attentive so that everything is pleasant during the stay. Note that the house is a 12-minute walk from the sea. A beautiful walk on a small path lined with palm trees.

Host Manager Ijob is just great. Did our shopping for us. Was always on site. Extremely friendly 👍 The cleaning lady Doris is also very conscientious. In the event of problems (power failure, little water), for which he can't do anything, he immediately tried to find solutions and, if possible, also dealt with them immediately.

Lovely home—clean, cozy, and well-equipped. Great location and very comfortable stay. The host was kind and responsive. Only thing I would recommend is a sign because it was pretty hard for the taxi to find us. I’m already planning on coming back next year with my family hopefully this house is available!

Zoe was an amazing host and really helpful with providing recommendations on where to eat and what to see on the island. Zoe was also very quick with her responses which made our stay at Zanzibar stress free. The property was spacious, with the showers having good water pressure and the beds being covered in mosquito nets. We had rented a car and we were able to park the car safely inside the gate. Overall we would definitely recommend Zoe as a host and her property as a great place to stay!

I can only recommend the place, from communication to booking, to transportation from the airport to the welcome and accommodation to the apartment, we were happy with everything. The family apartment provides plenty of space and excellent cooking facilities. The beds are very comfortable and the terrace is superbly adapted to relax in privacy thanks to the grown beautifully blooming bushes. Next, the generous breakfast included and 2 pools, at least one of which we had to ourselves at any time. The area is very well maintained, the pools are clean and the surroundings of the apartments are cared for. It's about a 5-minute walk to the beach, as well as the beginning of the village, where you can shop for everything you need, and also observe the local life while walking. Thank you so much to the owners and the entire staff for a great stay.

The apartment was in the middle of the action, ideal for getting to know the culture. Still, unfortunately, next to a school. But still everything had been great so far

Great place, great staff no hassle with anything

I stayed at the Monolo apartment for two weeks. The apartment was beyond my expectations. I felt like I was at home and had no trouble with getting around. Everything was to my standard and Abdulkarim made sure everything was accessible and had no trouble. The place was sparkling clean and everything was in working order. I had no troubles with electricity and water throughout my stay. Abdulkareem shared he’s Netflix account too which was very kind of him to do so. The WiFi was very fast and had good connection. The security system was top notch. I would recommend this apartment to anyone that’s looking for a clean, private and home away from home. The apartment was very affordable and worth the pay. Thank you Abdulkareem for the lovely experience. I would definitely love to stay at your apartment whenever I’ll be in Tanzania if you’ll have me 😊

Sheila was very kind and always cleaned our apartment perfectly. The location is excellent for accessing shopping options or the beach. The complex is clean, safe, and beautiful, with a great pool area. We will definitely come back again.
