Kyoto Coast 100yr-Old Home, 5min Walk to Beach

JulianRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We felt like home right away. Everything is clean and working. On the first visit to the restaurant next door, we were warmly welcomed by the lady who cares about the house in English. Both the communication with her as with Tera was always friendly and warm. The area is very quiet and beautiful. Our highlights of the area are: An organic farm shop called Kikoridani Terrace. The ice cream from the Tango Jersey Farm Shop. Kotohikihama Beach with singing sand and fantastic scenery. And the Katana Blacksmiths Nippon Genshosha - Katana Blacksmiths. If I come back to Japan, I want to spend more time in this place and the villa. We felt very comfortable and slept very well. Thanks a bunch

Traditionalhouse,Takeda castle 5min,Kinosaki 50min

ErnestRating, 5 stars2 days ago
We had a memorable stay at this beautiful 120-year-old kominka in Asago. Recently renovated but full of charming old details, it strikes the perfect balance between comfort and tradition. Peaceful, authentic, and deeply “Japanese” — exactly what we were looking for. The Tajima area, including Asago, Toyooka, and Yabu, is full of hidden gems. We saw fireflies and hiked up Takeda Castle, and hope to return for the sea of clouds and the “castle in the sky.” A great stop if you’re heading to Kinosaki or Yumura Onsen. Highly recommended for a true countryside experience in Japan.

Enjoy a semi open-air bath and hot spring BBQ while looking out at the sea in the garden Late check out until 15 o'clock 1-8 people per group per day

ReishinRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
One person was absent, so 7 friends used it! The view from the inner balcony was superb and the morning sunrise was also very beautiful. The BBQ space in the outside garden is also in the shape of an irori, and you can sit with your legs thrown out in the middle, and the distance is close, so I feel like I can have a better time than a regular BBQ! It was also great to have a cushion to sit on, charcoal, and a grill, and to be able to do a BBQ with only the ingredients. When you rent on Airbnb, there are many BBQ stoves, but charcoal is still good for BBQ.😊 I hope to visit you again when I stop by nearby!

The place was amazing! It had everything we could wish for and Ishikawa-san was kind enough to let us check in earlier than our check-in time. Ishikawa-san was an amazing host and responded fast. 100% would book again!

Designer Remodeled Kyoto Town House | Two Bedroom + View Bath Tucked away in Jing Lane

Our stay at Icy's apartment for two nights was absolutely fantastic! The apartment itself is stunning – it's clear everything is brand new, with beautiful furnishings and a really fancy, modern design that made us feel like we were in a high-end boutique hotel. Beyond the aesthetics, the location couldn't be better. We loved being within easy 15 minutes walking distance of all the major tourist spots, and the surrounding area was so nice and comfortable to explore. What truly made our trip exceptional was Icy, who was an incredibly helpful and responsive host. We felt so at home from the moment we arrived. Highly, highly recommend!

For a tour of Amanohashidate and Tango Peninsula.Showa Retro House "GINGAYA"

AungRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Masayo-san's place is a really traditional Japanese house and we felt like we were really living like a local. Although it is a little inconvenient from public transportation, Masayo-san makes up for it by helping to bring our luggages to and fro from the nearest train station. Amenities are great as well for a local Japanese home but the only other downside I would say is that the toilet is on the first floor while bedroom is on second floor. This is fine for most abled travellers but for those travelling with elderly or disabilities, please take that into account. But our short 1 day trip to Amanohashidate had been really pleasant thanks to Masayo-san's hospitality and the cozy accomodation. Thank you! Will visit again if I have more time!

Kyotofish·Shirakawa*Gion Area Riverview Machiya

JoseRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
The location on the Shirakawa is the main selling feature on this. Peaceful and nice to come home to. We sat there many nights on a floor seat near the window watching the canal. They can set up a futon for a third guest in this area, but be warned they have the best view!! :) There are fireflies at night on the canal. There is some car and pedestrian traffic on the opposite side of the canal and people do look in. The unit was clean and there's not a lot of stuff to clutter the space, which is nice. Furnishings are good quality and in good shape. There's a full steam bath on the first floor and a half bath on the second floor where the bed is. There's a full kitchen downstairs and a combo washer/dryer (takes about 4 hours for full cycle) on 1st floor. The unit could use more places to sit and a smaller dining table, but they're minor inconveniences. The location is great and very walkable to the entire historic area. We spotted 16 geishas in our 5 nights in Kyoto!

[OPEN in May 2025] Open rental with sea view | Max 5 people, 3 mins walk to the sea

MasayoshiRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
It was beautiful, with a panoramic view of the beach on the Sea of Japan.Perhaps because there were few people living there, there was less information around and I was able to relax and enjoy myself. The road to the facility is quite winding, so it may be a bit challenging for first-time visitors.
