A thoroughly enjoyable stay. Wonderful location, the kids loved having a pool and playground (or 2 if you count the pub playground) at their doorstep. The views were lovely too. Also a testament to the layout was how easily pur kids ended up making friends with other kids there over such a short period. The only 2 things I would change - beds were too hard for me (but that is personal preference) and the showers weren't the best - though showers in the pool area were perfect. Clearly not something that would change my 5 star rating. A couple of other points - being so close to Carsington Water (1 minute drive) was superb. Ashbourne and Matlock also close and lovely locations - very much enjoyed our little excursions there and to The Heights of Abraham. Thanks, a lovely stay.

Outstanding in every way. This cottage is worth more than 5* it simply cannot be beat. We have been to a lot of nice properties but Richard and Jo have made this property and their 16 acre land simply beautiful. Very nice people as well.

It was lovely inside and out and spotless there was 11 of us staying aged from 45-11 and not one of us had any faults they all thought it was great the only thing that the teenagers complained about was the pool closed at 6:30 and we had only gotten back from Alton towers at 6pm so maybe keeping it open a little bit later would benefit the younger crowd.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings, very clean and tidy. My children loved the pool and games room. Easy to get to all the main attractions will be coming back soon. Thank you for a great stay!

We had a great stay at knockerdown. We loved the pool and the play park was perfect for the children to play while I got dinner done. Overall it was a lovely environment and so close to local amenities. I am looking forward to staying again soon.

Lovely hosts, very friendly and very accommodating! The accommodations are even better in person, it is very cosy and me and friends had the loveliest time for my birthday relaxing weekend! All the amenities were provided, definitely worth the money and definitely enough space for everyone! Thank you so much, would recommend it. Only downside is that there is only two parking spaces available (which is stated) but we managed to find parking elsewhere for our 3rd car.

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautifully decorated barn house in Melbourne. As a family of four, it was perfect—spotlessly clean, incredibly comfortable, and so peaceful. We all slept soundly in the cosy beds and felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Eve had left some lovely surprises for us, and our children were delighted to relax in the garden with biscuits and squash after the journey. My husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine out there too—it was the perfect start to our stay. There was plenty to keep everyone happy, from books and DVDs to a great TV setup, and we made full use of the spacious kitchen for family meals. The location is brilliant too—within walking distance of several pubs and cafes. We had a lovely dinner at Harpurs and enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Birds Bakery. The property felt very private and secure, and Eve was a fantastic host—warm, helpful, and responsive. Thank you, Eve, for a perfect stay—we’ll definitely be back soon!

The Whitwick property was a perfect example of an English country cottage with all of the modern conveniences. When we first walked into the house it had the essential period features, a warm comfortable lounge, that led into a lovely dining room then onto a modern country kitchen with period features. The property had two lovely bathrooms and very comfortable upstairs bedrooms. There was a parking space on site and we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Great pubs and a co-op store for all of your needs, was just a short dive away. The property also had a generous garden with lawn, outdoor dining area and pretty plants that attracted bumble bees. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at the Whitwick property.

As soon as we saw the Garden House we relaxed straight away, it is a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful scenery and birds. Isabel’s handbook had lots of information and great instructions to walk around the estate and meet the sheep. The welcome pack was superb! Thankyou! We slept so well with the bird song waking us. We did venture out but it was great to get back to the comfort of the Garden house. I met Isabel who is a wonderful lady. We do hope to be back again Mary and David

After a horrendous experience at the original property we had booked, we contacted Brendan and Sarah very late Friday evening to see if they had capacity (following Air B and B refusing to help find somewhere) They responded so quickly to get us booked, communicated clearly, and couldn’t be more helpful during our stay. The property is beautiful, was spotlessly clean, had every thing you could ever need (coffee, pool table, ironing board, secure, entertainment, parking etc etc) Myself and friends were away to attend our friends wedding and honestly this saved our weekend and I can’t tell you how much of a relief it was to end up here. It really is a stunning property and perfect for a group. Thank you again for being great hosts and having such a gorgeous property xxx

I met with two friends for a short stay in Leicester. The location was great for its closeness to local and central amenities. But also felt rural with the canal/river on the other side of the road.

Great place. Cozy was very communicative. Got a phone call to organise the bed layouts. Replied straight away. The house it self was brilliant and very clean. The beds are very comfortable…would like to know the mattress you use.. Easy to get to. The jacuzzi 😎. Would definitely use them again. You don’t really need to take anything with you. Everything is provided. Felt like a 5* hotel. Thank you

Adie made us feel very welcome, and made sure we had everything we needed. He left us bread, milk,cereals,teabags,coffee and even a bottle of wine, etc. We were just a little surprised that we had to be out by 10am, we could have done with a little longer. It was great that the dogs came and visited as we were missing ours. Thank you Adie for a wonderful place to lay our heads and get ready for our granddaughters wedding.

We had a lovely family break at Caroline’s Lodge. The setting is beautiful and we really enjoyed the access to, otherwise, private land for lovely walks and visiting Staunton Harold courtyard. The lodge itself had everything we needed. It is very comfortable and the kitchen is extremely well equipped with plenty of crockery and utensils for 6 people. Many thanks for the welcome cake and bottle of wine in the fridge they were a lovely touch which we appreciated. We have had family breaks like this over the last three years and Caroline’s place is the best so far. We would love to return.

Well what can I say… if I could give 100 stars I would! Phillipa was amazing. She was so helpful and supportive to me organising my sisters low key hen do here. We had the most amazing time - the perfect cottage. We made friends with lambs, soaked in the hot tub, chilled and ate pies at the red lion! We really felt at home and it was so so special. Phillipa added so many personal touches and we even got to meet one of her little doggies Stanley. Phillipa we WILL be back! Thank you!!!!

Our stay at Sunshine Cottage was absolutely wonderful! The cottage itself is beautiful, and it's clear a lot of thought has gone into making it pretty, comfortable, and full of everything you need for a fantastic stay. We truly appreciated all the thoughtful touches. Wirksworth and surrounding areas are incredibly charming, offering plenty to explore and enjoy. It was a very clean and tidy apartment with everything we needed. The only issue was the hot water in shower, it kept going off and caused a difficult experience in the shower. Apart from this, everything was perfect!
