Mitzi cabin is absolutely perfect! My husband and I enjoyed every minute! We didn’t want to leave. The cabin is so beautiful and with the string lights around the porch and creek it was the perfect 20th anniversary trip! We throughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and serene area.. If you are considering booking DO IT! You wont regret it.. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This place was a gem! We were only here for a weekend so we spent the whole time on the property. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat, this is the place to find it. We got lucky with the weather so we spent our time by the creek, around the fire pit, and on the patio. The hot tub and gazebo looked great too. We’re hopeful this can be our go-to mountain place. This cottage near the creek exceeded any expectations we had! It was warm, cozy, comfortable and inviting. The type of place that once you walk out back, you don’t want to leave. The property grounds itself were stunning, we enjoyed the trials and the creek running through and enjoyed fishing in the stocked pond. You get privacy and seclusion all with your needs less than a 5 mins drive. I don’t think I could say enough great things about this place. We absolutely will be planning another trip here again! Can’t say thank you enough to the hosts for sharing this great slice of heaven that they have!

Very comfortable lots of space very relaxing would love to stay again

I went here with 9 of my friends and we were all welcomed with open arms! It is a very peaceful and private area in the mountains with a lot of home activities to do. Along with a big yard, hot tub, and game room - if you manage to get bored, that's on you. They have every clear instructions, even with a rule book in the house to help guide you through the house. It was very clean when we arrived and other than food, had everything we needed for our stay. Unfortunately, the only caveat is that there is barely anything around that is close by or convenient. Even getting groceries is a hassle at times. But if you're fine being secluded in a private, nice cabin in the woods with nothing but yourself and the wilderness, it does a great job! I would recommend to anyone who wants some time to themselves away from the crowds! Amazing stay!

Was definitely IN the woods and IN the mountains. ❤️ We loved it. Definitely need 4x4. But you will have everything you need.

My family had the most wonderful stay here! It was so cozy and inviting and had everything we needed and more. I appreciate how kid friendly it was - my three daughters had a blast in the hot tub and playing all of the games! Everything was very clean and well taken care of!! Loved this cabin and high recommend it!

Had a great stay at this cool cabin! It was the perfect blend of comfort and charm. The space was ample and well-maintained, with thoughtful touches throughout. The complimentary firewood was a great bonus and made our nights by the fireplace relaxing. Another unexpected perk was the solid DVD collection, which gave us some nostalgic movie nights in after spending the day exploring. Overall, it was a peaceful, relaxing getaway and we’d absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended.

We came to Purlear for a wedding. The mountains alone are awesome. When we saw the cabin, we thought is was quaint and well taken care of. The cabin views were outstanding. My in-laws always love sitting on the porch. We couldn’t get them inside because it was so calming and peaceful. The cabin had everything you would need to be entertained for whatever weather. The only thing that was a negative was the air conditioner was upstairs and the downstairs didn’t get as cool as we would have liked. But our experience was awesome and our dogs had a good time as well. I would definitely rebook this cabin if ever in that area again.

This was our second time staying here with our two pups! We absolutely loved our stay here and so did our pups. We loved the fenced in area. We cooked every night for dinner and had everything we needed. The exterior amenities are amazing as well. we loved using the gas fire pit on the porch surrounding by the lights! Great place for a relaxing weekend! Close enough to drive into west Jefferson to explore

Gil’s place was amazing! There are no worlds to describe the view! So clean , peaceful, felt just like home! Plenty of space, well stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture and beds! He is so responsive, so kind , funny, and genuine! I will recommend this amazing cabin over and over! I can’t wait for our next stay!

Nice stay. There’s a small creek in the woods that we watched deer drink water from the deck. Very comfortable bed. Nice place.

A guest really needs to like rustic to appreciate their stay here and we do. It wasn’t cold enough to start the woodstove so instead we enjoyed the peacefulness of sitting, or rocking, on the porch (only a few sounds of birds, a rooster in the distance, and a cow). The beds were awesome with such crisp clean linens and we had a beautiful night’s sleep. LeeAnn graciously made sure that we had everything we needed.

Renee’s cabin is simply sublime. It’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into creating this peaceful oasis in the woods. Every detail of the tiny home is thoughtfully considered, offering a level of comfort that invites relaxation, reflection, and quiet observation of the surrounding nature. Renee was communicative, generous, and provided clear, easy to follow instructions for check-in. My only regret is that we could only stay for one night. We’re already dreaming of returning for a longer getaway—and another chance to gaze up at the stars from the comfort of that cozy bed. Thanks Renee!

This was a fantastic place for my trip. Nice little cabin in a peaceful setting. Barbara was very responsive to any questions. We enjoyed fresh eggs ans some homemade jam left for us by the owner, what a nice surprise! The place had everything we needed and was close to plenty of activities. We will definitely book again. Three of us stayed at Heaven's Door Mountain Retreat in Moravian Falls, NC and had an amazing time! The wooded location and the cabin provided privacy, tranquility and much needed peaceful sleep. The cabin was immaculate, decorated beautifully, comfortable, spacious and yet very cozy offering all the modern amenities listed. We especially enjoyed coffee and tea on the front porch and reading /writing in the upstairs loft while listening to music from the Bose surround system which can be played inside and outside the cabin. The kitchen is lovely and provides all the necessities if one wants to cook. However, we choose to go to nearby local restaurants for dinner. Communication with our gracious and friendly hosts, Michael and Judy, made everything from booking the cabin to checking out hassle free. They provided many special thoughtful touches like a Welcoming Basket full of goodies. We definitely plan on coming back ! Thank you so much Michael and Judy for sharing your home!

Property was very well maintained, we had everything we needed for the weekend and also really enjoyed all the extra things they offer/include. We loved the design of the place and would definitely stay again.
