“Hi Sian Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your apartment. We were thrilled with the whole experience. We loved everything about your place, the decor, the furnishings and the fresh smell of cleaning products as we walked in was such a reassuring touch in these uncertain times. We were unfamiliar with Whitstable but we really were in a fabulous location! Right in the centre of everywhere and the bus stop outside was a great touch! We would highly recommend your apartment, in fact we already have. Thank you so much for ensuring we had all that we needed during our time away.”
Snuggle up in the azure, panelled bedroom at this cosy bolthole after a day at the beach in the sea air. Step through the dusky-pink door, whip up a snack in the snug, chic kitchen, then curl up on the sofa next to the rustic log pile. “We had a perfect stay in Whitstable at Lewis's place. Lewis was a great host - super communicative, all instructions were clear, the place was extremely clean and it had so many nice touches for guests (cereal, milk, tea, coffee, toiletries, fairy lights left on, etc). We felt right at home and the location was brilliant with both the town centre and the waterfront within close walking distance (as well as parking). Lewis even kindly posted back a few items I had (absent-mindedly) left there after our stay - to which we owe him many thanks! Similar to other reviews - we couldn't have asked for more and an amazing weekend here. Would highly recommend to anyone else wanting to escape the city for a break, we will definitely be back. Thank you!”
The Old School Room is a two bedroom house based in the unique seaside town of Whitstable. The property is part of the original St Alphege school which was built in 1885, it is full of original features and character. The recently restored house is seconds from the charming high street, minutes from the beach and boasts it’s own parking space. Canterbury is just 7 miles away and London is easily accessible by train. The Old School Room is the perfect base to discover the area from.
“The School Room is a beautifully presented, quirky and clean place to stay. The host was lovely and responded quickly to messages before our stay. Helen even kindly let us arrive a few hours before check in. We didn't need to contact her throughout our stay as everything we needed to know was already written in a folder. We arrived to fresh flowers in the rooms, sweeties and a note from Helen. The school room is perfectly situated near the high street and not far from the beach and harbour. It is close to shops and restaurants... We didn't use our car once! It is very close to a train line, if you are a light sleeper this may bother you in the mornings if you are enjoying a lie in. However, we thought it added more character to our stay and didn't bother us one bit (when the driver sounded his horn made us laugh, especially when it caught us off guard). Thought we would mention the Thai, it is 5 mins walk from the Old School Room, it doesn't look much from the outside but the food and service was amazing! We had a lovely couple of nights in Whitstable and would love to come and stay in the Old School Room again. Thank you Helen!”
