Our property boasts superb sea views over Scapa Flow, Hoy and beyond, aswell as field views from the bedrooms. Situated 3 miles from Kirkwall Town centre, with country walks from our doorstep, we offer the ideal spot to explore Orkney. We have free off road parking and an outdoor drying space. Please note: this property is accessed via stairs and no lifts etc are available.

This is an outstanding accomodation option for a quiet, comfortable and convenient stay in Kirkwall to explore the Orkney Islands from. A home away from home!! The Auld Kitchen was snug, comfortable, and characterful with everything we needed for our break. A great base for the island with easy access to Kirkwall. Sammy was friendly and welcoming, but didn't intrude and was there if we needed anything. We would recommend this property.

We had a lovely week at this comfortable, spacious and excellently equipped house. The setting is beautiful and great for seeing birds and even hares right outside the window. We toured the Mainland easily from this location and loved Stromness as the nearby town. Skara Brae is awe- inspiring and just a few minutes away. Veronica was so helpful with information and advice. A great experience all round.

Had a great stay in Clare’s wee cottage, I genuinely can’t think of how it can be improved. Is seems very freshly decorated and all the things that we needed were there including some well thought through extras e.g. extension sockets. Very comfy bed, lovely lounge area, well equipped kitchen (not that we used it much). We had accommodation envy from friends staying elsewhere! We’d definitely return if we ever get the chance, thanks very much.

We had a great time in the tin tent, it was very comfortable, equipped with everything we needed and we also loved the hot tub. We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of the animals and birds and even spotted a few seals from the window. Jan and her husband were very helpful and friendly and made us feel at home.
