Houseboat holiday rentals in Western Europe

What a brilliant place to stay! I felt like a child clambering up the steps to the viewing seat at the back, spotting all the unusual items around the place .. really fun. Hamish was a great host, showing us how the place worked. Great little outside space at the back. The whole place felt really homely. The toilet took a bit of getting use to ... so be prepared for an an adventure, but everything worked well including the wood burner, heating and hot water.

By far the most beautiful place we have stayed during our travels! We can’t recommend enough and it was worth every penny.

Loved our stay on the Love Boat! It was quiet and peaceful, and very clean! Instructions provided by Gia were perfect and the clubhouse perks were a plus! We will be visiting again so next time we can take advantage of the pool and kayaks during our stay.

We loved feeding the turtles 🐢. You have to check out downtown Sanford, walk the Riverwalk & go to the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens. Don't forget to try the Jailhouse Restaurant - in a real old jailhouse, great food! She was an amazing host.

It's a decent homely space. Lovely spot, short walk to some lovely cafes and bars.

Meg is a gracious, lovely human being. Her narrowboat is very tastefully and efficiently appointed, and you cannot beat the location—a peaceful, waterfront paradise in the hear of London. The 30-minute walk up to the Camden Town markets, including past the zoo and lemurs high above, was fantastic.

Very beautiful place! Hana was also very helpful and responsive.

We absolutely loved our stay at Anouk’s place. It was extremely comfortable for 4 people and had a wonderful living space that felt comfortable and homely. We loved having access to the bikes and despite having inclement weather it was an easy ride to the wonderful Zaanse Schans and the old windmills. Quintessential Amsterdam! The jewel on the crown was when the rain finally stopped, we were able to experience the stunning canal view from the moored boat at the back. Unfortunately the weather hadn’t permitted us to use the boat to explore the other canals but it is definitely something we would love to do on a future visit. Anouk was fabulous at communicating and left comprehensive information for us to make the most of the area. We loved dining at her favourite restaurant and probably made our mark as we were leaving! (Another story!) Ha! We definitely caught the spirit of the place! Could not recommend this highly enough. Thanks for a fabulous stay 🙏🏽❤️

We had an amazing 4day stay. Thank you, Sharon & Tom! It’s our first time trying a bit off-grid, Tom gave us a very warm welcome. Thanks also to Sharon for always being responsive & for making sure everything was ok. The first night, we just needed a little to adjust to the slower pace of life, getting used to the shower, the kitchen, the phone charger in the cabin(with Sharon’s help), and having no signal. We went for a short walk in the nearby forest, was very refreshing. Enjoyed peacefully watching & listening to the birds every morning, feeding fishes in the lake, and using the BBQ in the garden & burner oven in the kitchen every evening. We also liked the helpful info. booklet about things to do in the area & nearby. We visited West Bay and then “Lyme Regis, highly recommend”. On the rainy, just watching the rain, the trees, and the sheep(the black & white sheep couple was our favourite) from the cabin was relaxing. We also saw a family of 4 deer from the kitchen window!

Probably the nicest air bnb we’ve stayed in. The property was immaculate and comfortable set just above the water and boats yet peaceful and close to amenities. Communication with hosts was excellent and they went above and beyond to create a welcoming stay with coffees, teas and abundant snacks on arrival which were very welcome after our long drive. We arrived late in the evening but the instructions by which we checked in were concise and easy to follow and the lights had been left on to welcome us in. We shall definitely return.

Joseph is an excellent host! Very responsive, proactive, and provides great local tips. We thoroughly enjoyed this unique stay with great fishing and close proximity to restaurants. The houseboat had everything we needed including beautiful sunset views.

We have had a lovely stay at the boathouse which was just amazing! The boat house its self is beautiful, clean and comfortable with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! It is very well equipt, plenty of towels, blankets and even robes. We loved the hot tub with views over the lake. The location of the boathouse was just perfect for us and the views were stunning! We took our own paddle boards and was so happy to be able to launch straight from the jetty to explore the lake. My daughter also loved feeding the ducks from the jetty. We have had a busy few days on local bike trails, hikes, paddle boarding, boating and having some lovely meals out in beautiful Bowness, but always looked forward to returning to the boathouse! We will definitely be returning! Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay on the boat - even with three of our teenage children it didn't feel cramped at all. The location was absolutely perfect as a base for exploring the beautiful city of York. Great pubs a couple of minutes walk away and Bishy road was handy for eateries and grocery shopping. I would recommend using the provided table fans if you are there in the summer months as it can get a little warm in the bedrooms and having a little air circulating makes all the difference. We were there over the bank holiday but it was not noisy on the river at all - it felt very relaxing. Being on a houseboat was a great experience if you are looking for something a little different. The north of England has a great reputation for friendliness and we were not disappointed!

Deffinitely a place to visit and stay. Cant say enough good about it. Annie & Jess, fantastic hosts and really nice cool people.

Our family of 5 loved our visit to the Aikman Wildlife Adventure and the stay here at the Airbnb. Loved the deck and fire pit and got to see the reindeer and other deer up right near the kitchen window in the morning. So fun to see camels and other animals across the pond too. Appreciated that everything was fenced in making it safe for our young kids to wander about. Would recommend!

We only stayed the one night, though would have gladly stayed longer, had we the time. The houseboat is a great place to stay, when visiting Liverpool. Steph is very responsive and it was also lovely to find to find a welcome pack on arrival. Thanks again Steph, seeing Springsteen and Macca at Anfield, and staying at your houseboat will live long in our memory. We would definitely be happy to stay here again, if visiting Liverpool.

As always, wonderful. Thank you for welcoming us - it was so blissful to enter a warm floating sauna after a tiring day! And with years, it only gets more convenient and more thought-through - a place with a heart. Everything you need you can find there, and whatever weather is, you can still swim and enjoy warmth and shelter within. Thank you, dear hosts!

Nice staycation idea that we used to celebrate our birthdays. Took a water taxi to dinner at Maximom (Four Seasons) and returned to the FLOHOM for drinks on the roof deck with the fire place burning. Quaint stay!

This was our second year staying here, and it won’t be our last! The atmosphere is perfect—laid-back, welcoming, and full of charm. The community truly makes you feel at home. Kelly remembered us from last year and treated us like old friends, even giving us some free worms to get our fishing started. The community fire pit is a great place to relax and meet new people, and the fishing is top-notch. We caught over 20 walleye between 15–19 inches and even landed a beautiful 33.5-inch pike. We’re already looking forward to year three. Whether you’re planning a family getaway or a trip with friends, Sabula is a hidden gem you won’t want to miss!

This whole experience was AMAZING! I definitely will be returning for future visits and check out other houseboats at the Cove. Highly recommend for an out of the box stay outside of typical hotels. Friendly and attentive staff available when needed and very responsive. 10 out of 10!
