Holiday rentals with a fire pit in West Coast District Municipality

The simple life personified. After a short time getting oriented and realizing there were no locks on doors (be sure to bring a small padlock if that’s a concern), we fell deep into the slow and restive rhythm of the place. Beyond charming with simple details to match the back-to-basics decor. Top it off with a private beach on the vlei, cozy hot tub, outdoor shower and a very comfortable bed, and what more could you ask for?

This place is incredible, and we felt privileged to stay there. It was immaculately clean and beautifully furnished. It was a pleasure to use the furniture/ look at the art work. Also the beds and bedding were very very comfortable and it was a treat to use the bathrooms. We ate home cooked food by candlelight in the magnificent dining room (table was set and dressed by Noel). It was Noel, who greeted us, helped with our luggage and looked after the place that made the visit truly memorable- along with his little Corgi Maxine who made us feel right at home.

Absolutely beautiful property; if anything the pictures cannot do justice to the panorama of the lake and surrounding hills. We were lucky with the weather and the place has everything that you need! Tim was also and hand to help out with the hot tub etc. Simply superb!

A beautifully renovated farm house that is ideal for 3 couples. The house has many entertainment areas (courtyard was our favourite) and has some unique decorative art pieces. There are lovely small touches like the water filter and bath soap that made the stay more memorable. We had a wonderful stay. The house has charm and lots of character. We felt at home right away. We were surprised by the size of the house and how extremely well equipped it was, especially for large families. The cleanliness was irreproachable and the garden and yard neat and well maintained. A lovely home nestled in a quiet and picturesque location — the ideal base for exploring Tulbagh and the surrounding areas. With excellent wine estates just a short drive away and Tulbagh’s rich history and charm, it’s a destination well worth visiting. A perfect spot for a peaceful and memorable escape.

We loved the place and all the extras like wood, spices, hand soaps, cleaning gear and the fact that the place allowed our fur babies. The water filter on the tap is awesome and all the amenities are super.

My parents thoroughly enjoyed their stay at Jean-Michel's establishment. The views, peace and quiet and way the apartment was appointed, were amongst the things the were particularly happy about. Thank you to Sam! :-)

Magriet’s place is the perfect Airbnb – super clean, a very comfortable mattress, a well equipped kitchen, looks exactly like the pictures, and it’s private and safe. There is so much attention to detail; I doubt you’ll miss a single thing to have a very comfortable stay – Magriet has thought of it all! It was lovely to have braai area (and all the equipment you need, including wood). Magriet is a wonderful host and it’s clear she cares about her guests. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we won’t stay anywhere else!

Carna is a very friendly and welcoming host. The apartment is beautifuly decorated with thoughtful touches and the view from the kitchen and lounge is amazing. It is a very short stroll down to the beach- the location cannot be better.

An absolute gem nestled in a stunning, serene, quiet coast! Magrietha is a super host, is great at communication, gave us good recommendations on what we can do and where we can eat. The space is ideal for two, very warm, intimate & cosy. The bed is super comfortable, clean & lush. The space is adequately equipped with everything you will need. We enjoyed a braai over the bonfire overlooking the beach in beautiful surrounding. Definitely returning!!

I have stayed and about 60 airbnbs at least, and this is the best one I have ever been too. So many special touches and care in setting up a perfect get away. Honestly you will love this place. Hosts were wonderful as well!

We stayed for 1 night as a little break away from visiting family in Cape Town. We such a peaceful and relaxing stay. I loved the decor and the hot tub and bbq facilities were an added bonus. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again!

An EPIC getaway! Like none other. Down to the finest detail. Luxurious, artistic, earthy, sensual, gorgeous! Such a unique creation in a stunning, peaceful and inspiring natural environment. You can feel the heart and vision that has gone into this project. We loved so much about this place, especially all the fireplaces and hot tubs and little corners to sit and savour the magnificent views (sunset and stargazing on the outdoor cargo net, anyone?). The fantasy room was a cheeky fun bonus to an already decadent situation. Wynand and Bernadine have thought of everything! They are also very generous with their time and gifts, and were super quick to respond to our questions. Thank you for this creative masterpiece, we are very happy to know about Skaam and would love to come back!

I stayed just one night in the African hut and it was a truly memorable experience. The setting is peaceful and grounding, with the added joy of ducks and chickens wandering by in the morning—such a lovely touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the complimentary massage was a real treat that added something special to my stay. The outdoor hot tub and the electric sauna in the little stilted hut were unique highlights—such fun features that added to the sense of adventure. Be sure to bring warm layers if you’re visiting in winter, and come with an open mind. This isn’t a polished hotel experience—it’s rustic, real, and full of character. If you appreciate nature, simplicity, and a touch of the unexpected, you’ll love it. A starry night sky and fresh farm air make it all the more magical.

What an Incredible birthday getaway for my partner. Solace is the perfect space for two people wanting to escape the hussle and bussle of city life! The peace you find in the space is unmatched. Breath taking views, vast open spaces and the sweet, sweet smell of the citrus trees. The cabin itself was so nicely decorated with beautiful attention to detail. We loved that there were living plants all around the inside of the cabin. Extra blankets and cushions made it even more cozy and comfortable, with a wonderful air conditioning system to cool the cabin down after a blistering hot day. The gas braai, made for quick and easy dinners, which is precisely what one needs to enjoy time away. They even had a juicer, which was lovely for the oranges we bought…So refreshing!! We would definitely recommend staying here and we will surely be back as soon as we can.

It took us long to get there from Muizenberg but it was so worth it! The cabin was quaint and clean. We took our two dogs with and they were welcomed and we had a fence to keep them in. The property is beautiful with incredible walks/hikes. There are also a lot of options for swimming which is great in that heat! The hosts were also very welcoming. Thanks and we'll hopefully be back soon!

This place is an absolute must-stay for everyone! From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a living painting: the views, the vibe, and the atmosphere are simply breathtaking. The facilities are top-notch, offering everything you need for a perfect stay. What truly sets this place apart are the little details that make it feel like home: the friendly dogs, the adorable donkeys, and even the chickens you can cuddle. The food is incredible, the coffee is next-level (and also the coffee shakes and fresh juices), and every lunch felt like a treat. The owners and the host made our experience even more special with their warmth and hospitality. The massages were pure bliss, and to top it all off, the internet is lightning-fast: strong enough for remote working without any issues. Everything was beyond perfection, we could have stayed here forever!

Words can't describe Solace, but numbers can 100/10. What an incredible stay from start to finish. The cabin is perfect, it is equipped with everything you need, it is cosy and comfortable. The wood-fired hot tub was a highlight, we spent our nights star gazing. We forgot to bring milk and when we enquired about the closest shop, the hosts went out of their way to bring us some milk. I can highly recommend Solace for a few nights away. I'm pretty sure i've come back home a better person.

Our second time staying here and we enjoyed it just as much as the first! Michelle is a fantastic host and her cabin is the perfect getaway location. The dogs made us feel right at home and we loved walking around the farm and relaxing on the grass by the pool. looking forward to staying here again in the future 😊

Rustic beach house, very close to the beach. We enjoyed the fire pit outside and the simplicity of the place. Has all necessary amenities.
