Cottage holiday rentals in Waldo County

We’ve stayed in a lot of Airbnbs across the country and I’m not exaggerating when I say that Lydia’s place was one of the cleanest and most well-maintained homes that we’ve been in. The property and scenery are breathtaking. The numbers of birds and chipmunks that entertained us while we sat on the back deck was surprising. We ate all of our meals with the exception of lunches at the cabin and had everything we needed to prep and cook our food. This trip was all about relaxing and Lydia’s home was everything we needed.

It’s a lovely cabin, the hot tub is a plus. It’s also fairly private since it’s last cabin of the property.

Adorable cottage, newly renovated. Perfect for two with an open space loft for one more. Kitchen is well stocked right down to the coffee. A good location if visiting Fort Knox, Mt. Barrie and not too far from Bar Harbor if that is on your list. Great stay, highly recommend. Beautiful view and private.

My husband and I loved our stay at the Shore Cottage! The cottage was nicely laid out and very clean. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The view from the cottage is amazing. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in the area!

(Written by Keith’s wife 🤣) : I am going to miss the conversation with Linsay! There became a point where I almost felt lost if I didn’t talk to her at least once a day! Lol 😂 We were supposed to return on 3/9, and Linsay had blocked time off for us, but plans changed and she was SO understanding!! Love her to pieces! ❤️ We will DEFINITELY be coming back just to visit - in warmer weather of course! Maine can keep their winters! 😂

You cannot beat this location!! With the beach directly across the street, two great restaurants within a few steps, and only 10 minutes drive into Camden, this is the perfect vacation destination! We could not have asked for a better place to relax and have some fun adventures in Camden Hills and Islesboro. The house was very clean and comfortable with all the amenities we could have wanted. We ended up eating out for almost every meal (so many great restaurants in the area!), but the kitchen was very well stocked to make meals in. Brendon and Krista were very quick and proactive with communication and sending check-in instructions. Thanks for such a great stay!!

Our family had a lovely stay at the Lupine Cottage. Such a peaceful spot. We enjoyed getting out on the water in the kayaks and sitting out in the Adirondack chairs listening to the loons and barred owls call. Nice central location for exploring Acadia and the mid coast. Thanks Kim & Stacy for the precious memories!

We felt right at home at LInda's place. It is beautifully furnished and decorated and there is plenty of space. Everything was spotless. Having a washer and dryer really made a difference. The cottage is close to a busy road so there was some road noise outside, but in the cottage it was quiet and peaceful. Linda is very friendly and helpful and had put out welcome muffins for us, which was such a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again!

Great person, she really went over and above what she would have been expected. The dock with boats were great, my boys love the lake. The place was clean and very well decorated. Lots of extra appliances. Washer and dryer is very nice when you are on a lake. Nothing to complain about. If you stay here and especially if you have kids you will be very happy.

This was our family’s 3rd visit to mellow yellow. Already booked for next year. We feel so relaxed & at home here Just the reboot we all need Thank you again for sharing your home

Steven was a great host, including checking on us and providing candles when the power went out! A lovely home base to explore the region.

Suzanne’s place is the perfect seaside getaway; it is in an amazing location but has also been well decorated and supplied with everything that is needed to be a home away from home for a week. We love that it is close enough to the beach/pier to walk to but that it’s a little more private since a bit outside of town.

We greatly enjoyed our second stay at Keith and Marylou’s Airbnb. The home is spotless and very thoughtfully set up. Very warm and welcoming. We cooked several of our meals there and the kitchen had everything needed. The bed is very comfortable. Our stay was during a cold and snowy long weekend but we were warm, cozy and enjoyed movies, games, and worked a puzzle. We also enjoyed local antique shops and visited the Owls head light house. We look forward to our next visit. We highly recommend this Airbnb.

Being new to Maine, my husband and I found Larry's Place to be exactly what we hoped for - homey, tucked away in some quiet area, view of the ocean, clear night views, and the feeling that this was a rustic getaway. Neighbors are very friendly. Highly recommend staying here, as it's 20 minutes from Camden, various Camden restaurants, and Mount Battie and 10 minutes from Belfast, which also has cute restaurants such as Nautilus. There are 3 sleeping areas upstairs - an open area with 2 twin beds and 2 small bedrooms. Be aware that the beds may not be made up, but the host provides blankets, sheets, etc to make up each bed that you use. The bathroom is on the first floor, so, if anyone in your party has mobility issues, we recommend that person sleep on the very comfortable futon in the living room. The kitchen is well stocked, but there may not be ice cube trays. So be sure to grab a bag of ice from any of the grocery stores you pass on the way in.

Sally's place was a welcome fall resting spot complete with comfy beds and warm quilts, ocean breezes through the windows, the sweetest little kitchen (fully loaded with all the pans and utensils you need) and the best part of the whole place? That screened in porch. We lived out there from sunrise to sunset reading, writing, eating as well as doing enough bird watching to make James Audubon sincerely proud. Be on the lookout for seals! The place was everything we hoped for and we got to do some hiking each day. Love that Herbert Preserve within easy walking distance from the front porch!

An exception area & dear cabin for my husband & me. We felt swiftly very much at home. Had everything we needed + a kayak. The loon song was FABULOUS & great fishing. Great for just relaxing at the cabin & also lots to do in the area via lovely drives to: Belfast, Lincolnville Ctr, Lincolnville, Rockland, Camden. Thank you!

This home is a gem! In a stunning and secluded area that is so close to Belfast! We loved it here and will definitely be back!
