Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Waikoloa Village

We have stayed here before. The host is very responsive whenever I reach out. The place is in a nice neighborhood. Safe to go for a walk or a run. Beds are comfortable and has all necessities. Most likely will be back in town for work in the future and will be staying here if available.

Where do I even start? What a magical home with lush landscaping. Waking up to large windows that look out to the ocean was priceless. The location was quiet and safe and close to many activities we wanted to do in Kona. The beds were very comfortable as well. The pool was nice to cool off in after a long day but keep in mind it is not heated so depending on the time of day or sunlight it may be too cold for some. Also, being in such a lush tropical landscape with a large natural area behind the house there are birds and frogs making noise in the evening, which can be calming to some (like us) or can be too loud for others. When we visit the Big Island again this would be number 1 option for our stay.

It was a great place close to the airport while having easy access to everything. Very clean and the beach equipment was amazing to have during our stay. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful 7 day stay. Our 3 boys (16, 13, and 10) spent hours on the diving board and in the pool. Sandra’s place had everything we needed for beach trips, including beach chairs, wagon, umbrella, cooler and beach towels. I was so happy to have a washing machine to wash out the sandy towels and suits after our beach trips. It was a 5-10 minute trip for Costco,-target and Walmart and a 30-40 minute trip to Hāpuna Beach (don’t miss the Malsada stand on the highway on your way). We would come back to the house to cook supper, swim more in the pool, and watch the sunset from the beautiful yard. We also got a lot of use out of the basketball net in the driveway, and volleyball net in the side yard. Sandra was extremely helpful with all aspects of our stay, including local recommendations. Would definitely stay again if on the Big Island!

This is a beautiful and immaculate home. Very spacious and accommodated our whole family for my son’s 30 birthday, I would come again!

The house, which is very spacious, is located in a quiet residential neighborhood (the only real noise is from the many birds), which is five minutes from a grocery store and some restaurants in Waikoloa Village, and there are many restaurants, beaches, and things to do within a 30-minute drive; downtown Kailua-Kona is 45 minutes, and Volcanoes National Park and Hilo are about two hours (but easy driving everywhere, except for typical urban traffic congestion in Kona). The landscaping is amazing, and the backyard with a swimming pool is extremely private. It is also west-facing, so you get gorgeous sunsets with a slight ocean view (the property is inland). The AC units (for which there is an extra charge) are only in the bedrooms, so the house gets stuffy during the day, but cools off quickly in the evening. We had one minor maintenance issue, but the host, Andy, was responsive and addressed it quickly. We would definitely return if we have a future trip to the Big Island.

Wonderful place for our several days there. Fantastic view and very spacious. Several restaurants were in town. Waimea had few tourists but still was close to several small out-of-the-way towns we otherwise would not have thought of to visit.

My second time here -- the best house, with the kindest hosts. Well-stocked kitchen and living space, and I love this neighborhood so much.

Unser Aufenthalt auf Big Island hätte nicht schöner sein können! Die Unterkunft war ein echtes Highlight – sehr sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und perfekt ausgestattet. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an wohlgefühlt. Die Lage war ideal: gut angebunden – perfekt, um sowohl die Vulkane im Nationalpark als auch die Küstenregionen und Strände zu erkunden. Kathy war super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Kommunikation war unkompliziert und herzlich. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen – Big Island ist magisch, und diese Unterkunft war der perfekte Ausgangspunkt, um sie zu entdecken. Mahalo nui loa! 🌋🌴🌈

Our stay was prefect and incredibly peaceful! it felt like staying with a friend or relative. There were so many wonderful touches. The major draw was the beautiful creek and waterfall and falling asleep with the windows open and the sounds of the jungle. It was tucked away and a wonderful glimpse of local living. A few notes for other travelers: there are other rentals on the property; however, we did not see anyone else besides Darrin upon arrival. Also, this is not one of those sterile, squeaky clean airbnbs that you might be useful. Its definitely super clean but has a "real house" sort of feel. Also, no AC as far as we could tell but it was very cool (and I run hot!) Also, the value for island accommodations was awesome and much appreciated! Darrin was extremely kind to ensure we had a crib for our little ones and even left fresh bananas on our doorstep in the morning - our toddler LOVED opening the door to see this surprise. Oh! and the bed was glorious! Mahalo!

Wow and wow! Joyce and Zac have gone above and beyond to create a space that is comfortable and private. While the accommodations are indeed attached to their home, the retreat presents like a private apartment. The kitchen is well-stocked, making it easy to cook in for meals, if desired. Nothing has been forgotten concerning the little touches that make traveling easier, so we would consider this rental much better than a hotel. There is no air-conditioning, but numerous fans are provided and we were comfortable during our June stay. The online pictures very accurately depict what you'll see when you arrive. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We whole-heartedly recommend this rental and plan to return on our next trip to Kona.

Absolutely loved staying at Bailey’s place in Puako. It was so tranquil and gorgeous with the sound of the ocean at night and the amazing birds in the morning. The unit was very comfortable with a well stocked kitchen. We were 3 people - our teenage son slept on the pull out couch in the living room - you do have to walk through the bedroom to access the bathroom. This was fine for us. I loved the screen porch!! Bailey left so much info that helped us and was responsive to any request. We would happily come back here again.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr geräumig und sehr gemütlich. Alles funktioniert sehr gut, besonders die Küche war ein absolutes Highlight. Die Gastgeber sind ausgesprochen zuvorkommend und haben sich rührend um uns gekümmert. Wir haben viel Obst geschenkt bekommen, sogar louche und sapote aus dem Garten. Beide Früchte hatten wir noch nie gegessen, geschweige denn von ihnen gehört. Es gab viel von vorherigen Gästen zurückgelassenes Schnorchel- und Strandequipment, das wir ausleihen durften. Fantastisch!

Amazing stay at Madeline’s place! It was so so clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable bed, great air conditioning in the bedroom, quiet, the kitchen was perfectly stocked so we were able to cook food and pack lunches and snacks, had a great pool area, and was conveniently located close to many good beaches and amenities. I would recommend this place to everyone! Thanks for a great stay Madeline :)

Went with my husband’s parents for their 80 and 85th birthdays. It was their first time and they were truly impressed with the accommodations. They loved sitting on the lanai for breakfast and enjoying the calm serenity. The rooms were spacious and everything was clean. Beach equipment was provided and all instructions clearly laid out. We were very close to the pool and the private beach, which we loved. There were plenty of shops and restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive. We would definitely come back again.

Lovely condo in a spectacular setting. Kitchen had everything we needed, bed was comfortable and the condo was spacious. We spent most of our time outdoors having adventures, and the condo was a very comfy home base. It was very convenient having the Tropics restaurant within walking distance. We also managed to catch a gorgeous and tasty sunset dinner at the Lava Lava Club.

Ryan did an excellent job communicating. We showed up to a stress-free check-in process and simply started enjoying the warm, quiet surroundings. Our kids, 11 and 9, enjoyed many trips to both pools on the property. The Internet speed was good, and the offering of TV channels was nice as well. The kitchen was well-appointed and made it easy for us to cook our meals for our family of four. The parking pass was easy to use and we were always able to find parking close to the unit. I'm not sure when we will be headed back to the Big Island, but we will certainly be looking for availability at Ryan's place.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful condo in Waikoloa! The views were absolutely breathtaking. Our favorite part of the trip was being able to watch the beautiful sunset each evening from the lanai. The space itself was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything our family needed for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. What truly made this stay exceptional was the host — incredibly responsive, kind, and so easy to work with. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect trip. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

This condo was perfect for our Honeymoon! It was an end unit and provided amazing private views of the sunset every night. We didn’t close the glass doors once during our stay, as the ocean sounds and breeze were lovely. It was a quick drive to most “touristy” activities, like snorkeling, walking food tour, coffee farm tour, shopping, beaches, etc. Also I would definitely recommend reading the guestbook for the great food and activity recommendations from previous guests!

Christopher's place was perfect. Great location for walking to restaurants and shops. Close to the beach and golf course. Very nice and clean place, would highly recommend. Christopher gave us a lot of great recommendations for places to eat and things to do while we were there.
