John's place is so lovely in a peaceful and beautiful neighborhood, easy to find and park, just 6 minutes to the Metro and train station by driving, 12-15 minutes to water front and King Street with bunch of restaurants. The bed is super comfortable, and all kinds of snack food in the room. The sweetest part is the peeled and sliced fruit in the refrig…John and Rick are very kind, we must choose here again and strongly recommend to those visit Alexandria.

I stayed at Mark’s place while visiting my daughter, who’s in the Navy, and it was the perfect spot for some peaceful downtime. Even though it’s a shared home, the bedroom and bathroom felt very private and exceptionally clean. I was comfortable the entire time and slept well. The house itself is like walking into an art installation—colorful, unexpected, and full of personality. You never quite know what light or feature will come to life next, which made it fun and memorable. Both hosts are clearly creative souls with a flair for design. The backyard was my favorite part—lush with plants, fountains, and statues, all backing up to the Chesapeake waters. At night, it turns into a magical light show with just the sounds of nature and water features. So peaceful and calming. They even had a little breakfast area set up with bakery items and coffee—such a thoughtful touch. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind and restful experience.

This is a great host family who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable, enjoyable and safe. They went from being hosts to friends during my stay.

We had a peaceful stay. Lisa and Scott go out of their way to accommodate. There are a lot of hikers coming through and all kinds of accommodations for hikers. A real blessing for people looking to pause on their journey.

It was a very short notice booking…like an hours notice…Kathy and her husband Martin accommodated me. I am so appreciative of that. Martin met me on arrival and checked me in. A VERY pleasant man. He was very kind and helpful. He was so attentive even though he’s recovering from knee surgery, his knee was very swollen. Very tough man! The area was out of the way, and very beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay. The decor was personal. Kathy’s photos and art decorated the place as well as items from their travels. Thank you so much.

What a fun stay! We got to witness the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen here. The animals on the farm are so friendly. I was able to take my dog for the stay and he met bigger animals for the first time and they became friends instantly. I loved what they have done with opening up the family farm to enjoy. It was very personable and they made us feel like family. The homemade country breakfast was also one of my favorites. We were visiting the area hiking and decided to stay since it was a few hours away and I am glad we were able to stay here. Although our visit was short, it was sweet. Thank you for welcoming my family.. beautiful stay.

This is a beautiful historic hotel with modern updates tucked away in the Shenandoah valley. Nearby hiking is about a 10 minute drive, and Staunton offers several options for dining and entertainment only 20 minutes away. Our room was private and cozy with access to shared common areas. The breakfast at the restaurant on sight was a highlight of our whole trip. Get the French toast. You'll be back for more.

A TRUE Bed and Breakfast. Great location and great hosts. The home is spectacular and the location is very peaceful.

We got the full experience of the paranormal. If you're looking for a place with history and the ability to get responses this is the place. We enjoyed our time there.

We really enjoyed our stay. My husband was worried about staying in the close quarters with others but he really enjoyed our stay. We are looking forward to returning.

This place is a GEM. Dave and Misuun were extremely inviting and accommodating upon arrival to this beautiful bed and breakfast. They made great recommendations and kept the place very neat and tidy. Our room was nicely sized with our own bathroom and a really comfortable bed. We woke to well prepared breakfast each morning and really good coffee. We swam in the heated pool, relaxed in the cabana and played cornhole during the day. This place is just a walk away from anywhere in town which was convenient. At night we played in the retro arcade which had an overwhelming amount of games which were all free play. We'll certainly be looking forward to visiting again next year

This is the best air bnb I’ve ever stayed at! Amber was an amazing host and she went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable and welcome. From the parking instructions (we had a trailer to back in) to the full on gorgeous and delicious breakfast, we were just blown away by the hospitality. The space is thoughtfully curated and very comfy. There’s everything you need, but no clutter. It looks like someone took a picture out of a magazine and made the perfect air bnb. There’s privacy, 2 bedrooms, a private balcony, and private HUGE bathroom plus a shared living room space and dining room/kitchen. We were able to bring our dog and she had a huge yard to run around in. I would give this place 10 stars if I could…don’t pass up on this place!

We had such a wonderful time at Linda’s beautiful bnb! We only stayed for one night as a stop-over on a longer road trip, but we felt so welcomed- Linda’s hospitality was exceptional, and so was the space. We enjoyed hanging out in the historic parlor playing board games by the old mill stone. Breakfast and the snacks on offer were a welcome surprise. The room was just as described, and very clean and comfortable. We highly recommend and hope to be back!

We had an amazing two night stay here. Like many of the other reviews have mentioned, I’d recommend planning additional time to just relax and enjoy the property, it’s really a destination on its own. Marisela is an amazing host and the world needs more people like her. One morning we had to get to a conference we were attending & she made us coffees and breakfast sandwiches to go! We also met her husband during the stay and he was very kind and helpful. The house itself is huge and has plenty of spaces you can relax privately inside or outside even with other guests staying there (we were the only ones there during our stay). The Master Suite and Bath/claw tub were set up beautifully and the value for all of the included amenities is really unbeatable.

Maximo is a wonderful host. He was very attentive to all our needs and we had a great time. The place is very nice, clean with everything we needed. He prepared delicious breakfast and gave us a lot of helful info of the region. We warmly recommend his place!

This was the second time we stayed at Heritage Hill B&B. We loved it so much we came back and brought friends. It was just as nice the second time. We stayed in the Blue room last year and the Gold room this year. Both are beautifully decorated. We also had use of the living room and the patio with fireplace. Scott had a fire ready after our day of hiking and visiting wineries. The views are breathtaking. Dana makes a gourmet breakfast each morning and they both provide great ideas of things to do and see. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely loved our stay in the Library Loft! It was the perfect cozy getaway — warm, inviting, and full of charm. The host made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived, and their thoughtful touches didn’t go unnoticed. Breakfast was such a treat and truly set the tone for a relaxing morning. We can’t wait to come back! 5 stars all the way!

Perfect location for me taking a course at Waterford Craft School and the hosts are so friendly and welcoming and generous.
