House holiday rentals in Vancouver Island

This was a great location for our Vancouver island adventures. Pretty central to what we wanted to do. Cathedral Grove was close enough for us to visit multiple times, and the trip over to the Pacific coast was about what we wanted. Great hosts, were very quick to respond, and extremely helpful. House was great for our family, good amount of space, and lots of activities to do on rest days. Would stay here again if we ever come back to explore the area more.

Matt and Lina’s place was truly an oasis. The seven of us were so comfortable and enjoyed the pool/ hot tub and sauna time. Matt and Lina were fantastic to communicate with. We would highly recommend staying here if you love the peacefulness and privacy of the forest with ALL the amenities.

Peaceful and lovely house, the views from the balcony were beautiful. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Nanaimo.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here! Very family friendly - we used the pack'n'play and highchair, as well as the beach toys provided! There were many "kids" cups and plates which made meal time a breeze. The fully enclosed deck was also nice for the kids to play on. There were a couple things that would be nice for a handyman to come work on (tightening up toilet seats/towel rods, etc.) but overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Our family of 5 plus our dog enjoyed our stay at Oceanside Escapes. Johanna and Julie were readily available to answer any questions that we had before and during our stay. The cabin was well-supplied and had a binder listing many local recommendations. It was a short walk to Rathtrevor Beach which we all enjoyed, particularly our dog. All essential amenities and many attractions were nearby. The central air conditioner was especially helpful in keeping the whole cabin cool during the hotter days. We will be back.

Great little get away. Pool was awesome, hot tub was great. Great fenced front yard for the dogs. Back yard was quite big to be able to play with the kids. Very clean and tones of room. Ryan was great to deal with. Will definitely rent again on our next trip down. Thank you

We had a small group from work gather at April’s place and it was fantastic. So much space for us to spend time together. Everything was set up for us to have an amazing time: the pool was warm and so clean. There are tons of thoughtful touches in the home and the kitchen is incredibly stocked. It’s just a dream, we are so thankful! Our group wants to come back next year! Thank you!!!!

I would highly recommend this stunning property for your next get away. Beautifully decorated spacious home paired with tranquil manicured grounds. Noting also that the pool and outdoor entertainment area is warm & welcoming to guests.

The location of this place couldn't be better for exploring the Island and especially for mountain biking (hosts were very accommodating with letting us store/charge our ebikes in their garage during our visit). Very easy access to everything North and South of Nanaimo as well as the city itself. The apartment is very peaceful with your own private garden/sitting area. While Nash and Louise are delightful hosts the real star of this property is Ollie, the most well behaved dog you will ever meet. Ollie greeted us upon our arrival and checked in most mornings to make sure we were well taken care of. Be sure to get Nash and Louise's restaurant recommendations.

I selected this one because the photos suggested it would have a wooded setting with pleasant lighting from many windows and skylights. It was even better than expected. I really enjoyed the uncomplicated, aesthetically pleasing decor! Excellent value, too.

We had a very relaxed stay at Barb's place, which is very clean, modern and tasteful. She always responded very quickly and made an effort to allow us an earlier check-in. Definitely recommend to stay here when visiting Campbell River, as it is also very practically located.

A really nice house with good taste of renovation. Wonderful view and private location. A good place for family vacation.

Great little self contained guest house!

Tiffany was very responsive and we had a request it was done the very next morning. The place had nice views and would come back again. We used pretty much everything the house had to offer: BBQ, hot tub, stove, oven, etc..

The place was beautiful, both inside and outside of the property. We had a beautiful garden view, and a small patio to enjoy our Breaky in the morning! The place itself was very large, with a beautiful, modern kitchen. The bedrooms were nice, with one looking out/ opening up to the garden. The host left a nice booklet of all the best places to shop and eat — which was actually very helpful!! The parking was very good, and we even had “spare parking” If we needed it. Overall, very good stay, and we will be booking it again.

We already miss this place! We loved waking up early in the morning to the view outside the bedroom, a feast for the eyes. Nature and tranquility surrounds this home. One could easily spend their days sitting on one of three decks taking it all in. Having the kayaks and paddle boards at our disposal allowed us to be a part of the activities on the water. And a soak in the hot tub was a much appreciated bonus! This is truly a home for an active lifestyle. With the climb up the nearly 70 steps to the street to the multiple daily walks to the business district in Deep Cove, you won't have to worry about making sure you get your exercise in. Thank you, John and Maria, for sharing your lovely home with us. It was a very special place for us to celebrate a milestone anniversary. We felt very spoiled by everything it offers and will definitely return again.

Truly one of the best Airbnbs we've stay in. The house is better than we could have imagined and lake is even closer than what it looks like in the pictures. My five year old son says his favorite thing(s) about the house is: jumping into the lake, the hot tub, the water play, jumping in the lake, the big couch, the showers, and jumping into the lake... Hoping to come back again!

Pictures couldn't possibly capture how well appointed and perfectly situated this place is- 5 stars!!! You can sit with a coffee on the beautiful deck listening to the birds and watching the boats pass up and down Howe Sound while snow capped coastal mountains frame the posrcard backdrop, amazing! The suite has everything you need and is well laid out with impressive attention to the details: Comfy bed, proper linens, fluffy towels, premium soaps etc. We walked down to the village and it's a 30 minute peacefull walk down the road. Highly reccomened!

Wow, we really enjoyed our stay! The location is beautiful, and we loved the home (lots of room for our family to spread out). We also appreciated Brent’s recommendations for activities in the area. We would absolutely return for another visit!

What an amazing place. Twice as good as the photos. Beautiful house, very comfy. The garden leaves you speechless. Just sitting there watching the Bald Eagles is very special. The view is spectacular plus we saw Orca, sea lions, sea otter and a whale, all from the garden and we were only there 4 nights. Best place we have stayed.

This was the second time we’ve stayed at John’s place and it was just as amazing as the first time. John was very responsive and super friendly. His beautiful home is always so peaceful being right on the water. I would absolutely recommend staying here when you visit Alert Bay.

We enjoyed every moment in Fred’s house. The ocean view was truly amazing. Communication was easy with prompt and helpful responses from Fred and his team.

This was my second stay at the Namu house. Great location in the woods near cox beach!
