We stayed at the wonderful Fontanaro villa in the village of Paciano, and it was truly a soul-refreshing experience. Lucia is an incredibly caring host, and Pam, who looked after our stay, was a real treasure. She not only provided excellent recommendations on places to visit but also took care of reservations, ensuring we had nothing to worry about. This was not just an ordinary stay; it was a unique experience. We had the opportunity to participate in an olive oil tasting and a cooking class—both activities left an indelible impression. The villa we stayed in was not only stunningly beautiful but also boasted an impressive wine cellar with an extraordinary collection. Overall, our stay at Fontanaro villa exceeded all expectations. It was more than just accommodation—it was an experience we will never forget.

I spent a week with friends at Patrizia's property. The property is nestled in the hills and greenery, in a comfortable enough position to visit nearby Umbria and the magnificent Aretini/Sienese villages. The stay was magnificent: the peace, tranquility and beauty of the context made this experience unique. An ideal place for those looking for relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Best place to stay in Gubbio

We felt completely comfortable in the house – everything was exactly as described. Antonio and his wife are extremely friendly and helpful. We were able to relax wonderfully and enjoy the holiday to the fullest. The house is highly recommended and we definitely plan to come back. There is much to discover in the area - day trips to Tivoli, Assisi, Perugia, Pienza and Orvieto are particularly worthwhile.

The "il Cottage" accommodation is a lovely two bedroom apartment that is right next to the fortress (which makes it even more evocative). Francesca and Aliek welcomed us with kindness and professionalism, making us feel like we are in our home. Their whole family was very nice and helpful, including dogs, cats, and donkeys who were an unexpected and very enjoyable company for us. The fortress is located in a very quiet area but at the same time close to the main tourist attractions of Umbria easily reachable by car, at most in a couple of hours. Absolutely recommended for both couples and families, or simply for people who love tranquility and beauty .

I was looking for a spacious, comfortable place with pleasant outdoor features. I found it here. Beautiful, rural, Tuscan surroundings, yet only 20 minutes from Cortona: a great hill town of middling size. Plenty of room for 4 - 6 people with very good sleeping arrangements. Convenient kitchen, washer, and furnishings helped make my almost 3 week stay enjoyable. Definitely benefitted by the instructions, you tube video, and good communication. Would certainly consider another stay if in the area again!

The description is exactly at the house. Lots of privacy. Fantastic view. Very clean and very friendly host. Warmly welcomed upon arrival and a clear explanation. There are two real booklets made with tips to do in the area. Furthermore, the private chef is highly recommended. Super good food and learned a lot about Italian cuisine. Patience with cooking is the magic word. Simple, but oh so tasty. Luca is a really friendly chef. The house is cozily furnished with all amenities. We were able to enjoy the garden and pool (partly because of the very nice weather). Despite the time of the year and water temperature 18 degrees, we regularly sat around the pool and were able to have a drink and swim. We can't wait to go again. Everything was magnificent, for the two of us and our two dogs, it was like living a dream. Clean and comfortable environment, with all the necessary equipment. We didn't use the sauna, but there's that one too. And what about the garden? Spacious, comfortable, high fence, with barbecue, outdoor table and chairs, drinking fountains, deck chairs. In addition there is also another garden, always fenced, which can be accessed via a gate inside the property, with fruit trees (apples, pears, cherries, figs, walnuts, apricots). Magnificent view of the entire Gran Sasso. Hosts have always been helpful, kind, and proactive, with the utmost discretion. We hope to be back soon.

We had the privilege of staying a month in this beautiful stone house nestled in a forest with outstanding views of the Umbria hills and the medieval village of Rotecastello. Tranquility itself taking long walks in the woods with the birds chirping throughout the day. The house is centrally located to quaint local villages such as Orvieto, Assisi, Spoleto as well as many others. Florence is only a 2 hour drive. The town of Marciano is a few kilometres away with all the amenities needed to make delicious meals at home and if you like fish, on Tuesdays and Thursdays the truck in the centre of town is excellent as is the homestead pasta shop. Gabriele and Valeria, a sophisticated couple who show their dedication to their guest from the interior cleanliness and decor to the gorgeous flowers surrounding the house. Very welcoming couple always with a smile, yet still honouring your privacy. Arturo, their dog is an absolute joy. This is a 100% recommendation all around!

The apartment of Livio and Vittoria is very tastefully and elegantly furnished, spacious and well equipped. The small kitchen is cozy and makes it possible to prepare full food. The surroundings are wonderful and invite you to beautiful excursions. The pool is pleasant and offers wonderful relaxation. We enjoyed it as a family with a dog.

Daniela’s place was spacious for our family of five. She was there to greet us upon arrival and give us the grand tour. Provided us with nearby attractions, which we attended. Our stay was in October and the pool was ready for us, we had a visit from a cat, whom we named Giuseppe and an indoor fireplace made the house toasty warm. We enjoyed our stay here and would come back.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay! The place is exactly as described — actually even more beautiful in person than in the photos. The surrounding nature is stunning, the bed was very comfortable, and the house had everything we needed. We even managed to enjoy a nice barbecue! I truly couldn’t recommend this place more — it’s absolutely magical. Check-in was super smooth, and the host was perfect: not intrusive or anxious at all (which has happened to me before elsewhere). Everything went perfectly. Thank you so much!

It's a really great real Italian house. Very cozy, we felt at home right away. Very complete. Two nice large bedrooms with ceiling fan, one bedroom in the attic that was a little smaller, mattress on the floor and air conditioner (which didn't work so well). It was a very hot week (up to 40 degrees). We kept everything close during the day, but it stayed very hot in the bedrooms. A few more air conditioners would be very nice. But...it worked, we slept well on the good mattresses. Around the house lovely places. Even more beautiful than in the photos. We moved with the sun from spot to spot. The pool is fantastic (and really needed with that heat). The house is quite secluded on a very small road. We are quite a bit lost. That was also because there is not always internet connection on the way. Finally, a lot of praise for the fantastic Adriano who was always available and always checked to make sure everything was good. Thank you Elvira and Adriano!!

A stay to be recommended to those who need the proximity of trails,snowy or not depending on the season,but also to enjoy the silence just 20 minutes by car from the National Park and Ceppo.

This place was everything we wanted and more. SO private (we were aline and no other guests in the big Vila next door). the view is just stunning- waking up to it every day, seeing it from the bedroom and drinking our coffee in this view was magical. arriving there is easy but the oast 5 min drive are in a bit more rocky road- fine for higher cars we arrived when it was fully dark and it was still.fine the pool is amazing we had everything we needed here and likes how it is surrounded by green and really isolated. the communication was easy thank you so.much! I wish we will come back!

This was our second stay in this beautiful house. For us, the main attractions are the private pool and the magnificent views of the valley and surrounding hilltop villages. A spacious, cosy home-away-from-home.

We had a wonderful weekend in this apartment. The tranquility and privacy of the place are priceless, both inside and in the outdoor spaces you can feel total serenity. The apartment was impeccably clean and we especially appreciated the bed, incredibly comfortable! Traveling with our son of almost 3 years old, finding an environment where you can really relax is not obvious, and we were able to do it fully here. We recommend this place to anyone looking for a haven of peace and comfort.

The house is very nice, very secluded (1km private gravel path to the house) and quiet and completely surrounded by nature. The pool is huge and very well equipped with shower and toilet right by the pool. Each room still has its own large bathroom and there are even 2 kitchens. The terrace and in general the whole outdoor area is very nice and with enough trees you also have beautiful natural shade. All in all we were very satisfied, communication with Milagros was also very easy and fast. The place is definitely recommend!

Staying at this cottage was a wonderful experience! Beautiful view and Federica is a very kind person, really exquisite! The cottage is very easy to reach, the rooms are clean and there is everything you need to spend a few days relaxing... also beautiful the pool, the solarium area and the animals. Perfect place for those who have children or want to relax surrounded by nature!
