Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Valado dos Frades

A peaceful, rural location. The comfortable king size bed gave us our best few nights' sleep for months. We'd prearranged for a supply of groceries and paid them on our arrival. With a good stock of food and drink we could stay local and take advantage of exploring Ruth & Graham's vast expanse of fields with fig and olive trees and rambled through their wood down to the river. The facilities inside the barn/cottage are faultless, we had good internet connection and my husband was able to fulfill his work commitments and conduct a video conference. The bathroom/shower was spotless with strong water pressure so that just a gentle turn of the tap gave us perfect showers. Every aspect of what a visitor might need has been well thought through and provided. We took gentle strolls along tracks near the neighbouring tree plantations where the smell of eucalyptus was cleansing. I enjoyed their spring flowers and flocks of birds. I baked a cake and shared it with our hosts. Will rebook soon.

We stayed at Leonor's litte house for a week and had a wonderful time. The house is situated beautifully in nature and is a great place to explore the area from. The house is small but has what you need with 2 person's. We also enjoyed the frequent visit of Leonor's father's dogs! Perfect place to relax!

Beautiful clean house and pool, comfy beds and really spacious house. We were greeted by Pereira’s father who gave us a tour and was very friendly and helpful - we enjoyed the wine he gifed us too! Would recommend a car to stay here.

We loved our month’s stay at Arlinda’s place - a house full of art and history - especially appreciated Arlinda’s creative use of driftwood and branches that made for functional and interesting spaces - 3 outdoor spaces! Her home is right outside the castle walls, easy to walk into the center -

Maria’s apartment was charming and well-equipped and beautifully situated in the center of town—but slightly removed from the noise and hustle. She was a very gracious host and we were very glad we stayed there.

lieu très agréable , quartier calme. maison très confortable, spacieuse avec une très belle décoration. Takeaway à une minute à pied. Proximité commerces et plage. J'ai beaucoup apprécié le mélange des traditions, de l'authenticité, et de la modernité . De très bons restaurants typiques et bon marché à découvrir. Je vous recommande cette maison.

Rafael, was the perfect host and gentleman. The location is unbeatable and his dining recommendations were spot on. We really appreciated the little personal touches (fruit, bread, cheese, ham, croissants ++). The pick up and drop off service were a surprise and greatly appreciated. L'appartement était exactement le même que dans la description, super agencé. L'emplacement est calme et la vue magnifique.

Passamos ótimos dias na casa de Nuno. O apartamento é super iluminado, limpo, bonito e com camas confortáveis. A cozinha é bem equipada, com utensílios e armários novos. O apartamento fica uma curta caminhada da praia, com ótimas ondas para surf. Nuno foi um excelente anfitrião, muito gentil e respondia rapidamente qualquer questão. Ofereceu-nos um check in antecipado e um check out tardio, o que nos ajudou bastante. Além disso, suas indicações de restaurantes foram todas aprovadas! Come-se muito bem na região.

Gostámos muito da nossa estadia na casa da Teresa e do Miguel. A casa está super equipada, estava muito limpa e tem uma localização ótima. A Teresa e o Miguel são muito simpáticos e solicitos. Esperamos poder voltar!

We visited Nazare during Christmas holiday and was very satisfied with the location and hospitality from Carlos and his assistant. The apartment is in the quieter place of the town and easily accessible to get into the busy area. It’s very clean and has all the necessary amenities. The heaters and WiFi worked very well and made us comfortable when we stayed inside. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

We spent 3 nights there with my wife and daughter. The apartment is superb, so equiped like a home. Very modern, very new and in a great condition. Huge roooms and balcony with furniture and a distant view to the beach. Everything was clean and tidy, got towels rolled up on our beds like in a hotel. The place comes with its own underground garage that allows to keep your car safe. However quiet tight and tricky to manouver. However front of the building there are parking lots that are also free. We had a little issue with the boiler at first nights, but the owner was very responsive and helpful, showed up quickly and solved the problem. It felt we were in good hands. The only problem we had is we booked only 3 noghts, but could have stayed for the whole week. The beach is in walking distance, 15 mins, but downhill, so coming up takes more time. I really recomend the place fantastic apartmant at a beautiful place.

A casa do Álvaro estava impecável e ele respondeu sempre super rápido. A casa está muito bem equipada e a zona é sossegada.

Nous recommandons grandement l'appartement de Lina. Tout est là pour un excellent séjour. Le logement est très bien équipé, décorer et extrêmement propre. Les lits sont confortables et il y a une belle vue sur la mer. Lina prend bien soin de nous accueillir (en français pour nous) en nous donnant toutes les informations sur son logement et sur Nazaré. Bref un beau séjour! Merci Lina!

We had a truly authentic Portuguese experience at Jorge’s! Highly recommend! Jorge and his family were extremely friendly and welcoming. They were so sweet, prepared Christmas treats and gifts for us which we appreciate very much. The apartment is comfortable, pristine clean, very well equipped and centrally located just a short ride away from Leiria. We felt right at home quickly and spent many hours on the patio soaking in the sun and the gorgeous view of the village. It is easy to explore Cortes and the surrounding area on foot. Check out the well designed casa-museu Joao Soares and historic church just next door. It was convenient to have the grocery store within walking distance. We met many friendly locals in the village even tho we did not speak Portuguese. Could not ask for a more perfect vacation. Muito obrigado!!

Wir waren sehr zufrieden, insbesondere der tolle Garten und das Billiardzimmer waren super. Das Haus liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend, man konnte den Vögeln beim Zwitschern lauschen. Insgesamt eine sehr geräumige Unterkunft, wir waren zufrieden.

Wir hatten das große Vergnügen, sechs wunderbare Tage in Jorges traumhafter Villa in der Nähe von Nazaré zu verbringen – und können die Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen! Jorge war ein außergewöhnlich freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber, der uns vom ersten Moment an das Gefühl gegeben hat, willkommen zu sein. Er war jederzeit erreichbar, falls Fragen aufkamen, und hat sich stets bemüht, unseren Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Die Villa selbst ist wunderschön gelegen, ruhig und bietet einen herrlichen Ausblick. Sie ist sehr gut ausgestattet und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der fantastische Pool, der bei Groß und Klein täglich für Erfrischung und Spaß gesorgt hat. Auch die Freizeitmöglichkeiten auf dem Grundstück haben wir sehr geschätzt – der Kickertisch und der Billardtisch, obwohl schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, waren eine tolle Abwechslung und haben nicht nur den Kindern viel Freude bereitet. Wonderful place! In a great location with beautiful view of sunset. Lot of fun things to do with the pool and basement. Overall amazing stay!

This is a magical place and we are very thankfull that we could make it our home for a long weekend. It was beautiful from the inside and the outside. With cosy corners to sit and read by yourself, or nice bigger tables to eat or chat with the whole group together. The pool, the view, it is even more breath taking then on the pictures. We really had the most amazing time with our group of friends! Thank you Sergio!

We thoroughly enjoyed our family holiday at this lovely quirky characterful villa. The welcome was fantastic with a table laid out with delicious foods by Adelia. The outside terraces around the pool are beautiful with stunning views and sunsets. We also made good use of the barbecue. We were there with 6 adults and 2 babies. There is literally nothing missing in the house, everything is catered for, even 2 highchairs! When we had an issue with the lack of hot water, our hosts responded promptly and things were resolved. We can highly recommend this lovely house. The local restaurant is also worth a visit where Susanna will cook up a storm.
