Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Vaal Dam

What a great find! Margie was an excellent host! Very good with communication and extremely accommodating. The property is very well maintained and the house was very homely with 2 great entertainment areas, a swimming pool for the summer, and as an alternate, multiple fireplaces for a snug winter getaway accompanied with an oxtail potjie and glühwein. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the appliances / utensils you'll need, bathrooms modern with clean extra floor towers for water run off , luxury soaps and shower jells, and bedrooms were well laid out. There's a pool table, dart board and several board games to keep everyone entertained. Attention to detail included, a welcome bottle of wine, informative booklet, chocolates on the beds, packs of tissues for all the occupants, and chalk for the pool queues. There is a short drive to the marina where club access is included, with picnicking spots and watercraft launching facilities available. Highly recommended!!!

Lovely little spot on the river when you just want to get away for a bit. Cottage was safe, secure and peaceful.

What a wonderful venue especially as we could moor our boat and JetSki after a fun day’s activities on the river. The house had everything we needed.

This was our second visit to Frans place and it was as if we returned to family. Fran and Rick are extremely accommodating superhosts and we will definitely recommend them and their place without any reservations. Frans is our go to home away from home. The Host Paul allowed us to have our very small intimate wedding there.. it was the best night of my whole life and the propert is superb😍. I would not trade that night and the overall feel for anything else. I have to add that the staff member was walking around our guests and for most park of the wedding sat in the main houses' bar on his phone watching videos (the guest toilet is right next to the bar btw).. i eventually asked him around 23h00 when our guests left to please leave our house , it was quite awkward having him sit there watching videos while we all stand around the kitchen/ bar and all talking about how the wedding and night went.

Wonderful place and such a free space. Wonderful hosts, just had such a wonderful time. They thought of ia by makimg a great fire, it waa just so sweet.

Beautiful place on the dam, was so easy to walk down and get on with some fishing. Lovely spot, the bedrooms are separated and have their own bath/shower and toilet with a communal kitchen and lounge. The TV has been updated and the dstv was a bonus for the kids. A homely environment with the requisite requirements. Thanks Wendy.

We really enjoyed our stay. Nice scenery and well maintained gardens, pool. Little TLC needed in our room (TV stand loose), and iron was damaged - which was rectified timeously. We were also pleased that unit has a full electricity backup system.

I would definitely recommend Elm Tree Cottage. The cottage is absolutely beautiful—tastefully decorated with so much attention to detail. Delicious coffee and even a welcoming drink—what a treat! Bernice’s place was absolutely perfect for us. The whole place is very spacious with a brilliant kitchen and modern bathroom. The back garden area is perfect for someone looking to have breakfast outside or even a little home workout. Lastly, the host is super friendly and extremely helpful. Whenever we had any questions she got back to us right away and gave recommendations for whatever we needed. We would highly recommend this place to stay and can’t speak highly enough of the host. The views are spectacular and the river is breathtaking the location is excellent as we were surrounded by nature at its best.The accommodation is clean & it is well - maintained and we were wonderful welcomed by the owners & such friendly staff ,just needs little more family activities otherwise it's value for your money,we definitely will be going back to this amazing place.

This was incredible value for money! The views were amazing, the house was clean and lovely, there was loads to keep the children entertained and the host was super friendly and helpful! A wonderful experience in nature, so tranquil and refreshing! Would definitely book here again.

Pictures don't do it justice. So much better than expected. The clubhouse an pool is stunning and not like the photo. Love the nature next to the river. Whish their was a walking trail next to the river, couldn't find one, but you can go out on the road and take a walk. We had to pay a breakage deposit cash which we didn't know about, but they were accommodating and we had a wonderful weekend. The hot tub was amazing and can get really really hot.

Apartment is stunning, beautiful views and it has all the necessary crockery. They also have ice buckets and plastic wine glasses which can be used at the picnic area which the general public also has access to. So you can save yourself some money!

Wonderful getaway. My husband particularly enjoyed the fishing. Its a short distance walk to the dam. My 2 small pups had a wonderful time too. Will definitely head back. Peter is super friendly!

expect greatness, great host and best place to spend holidays

McFab farm stay is a lovely rustic farm house, off the beaten track and very peaceful. There is little to do in the area and the nearest two is roughly 40 minutes away so be prepared to relax. The house has all the hallmarks of a farm, wooden floor, stone walls but is well appointed with everything one may need for a short or long stay. Remember to bring all you need food/ drinks / condiments wise but they have a gas stove and fridge with all the cutlery and plates one would need. They have good selection of books and there are some walking trails to be found in and around the farm, great mountain biking and some fishing at nearby river. I would recommend this stay for people wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, away from cellphones ( very limited signal at the property ) and get in touch with country/ farm living.
