Very friendly and sweet hosts. And well tasting food.

Indika was the perfect host. The night before our arrival he called us to make sure we were all set. During our stay he went out of his way to drive us to the Sinharaja and back (a 3hr round trip) for a small fee, and waited for us whilst we completed our hike. The hotel is immaculately clean and surrounded by lush green mountains and the chef makes great food. We were most surprised on the morning of check-out, that Indika had arranged for our hiking boots to be cleaned and rid of dead leeches (from the hike the day before). It was certainly above and beyond all expectations.

Hands down the best place we have stayed in over our month we spent in Sri Lanka. Sadly, we stayed only one night but will gladly recommend this place for longer stays! The place is amazing, with quiet surroundings, immersed in jungle. Room is equipped with everything you need, and sparkling clean. The staff is very kind, attentive, and always helpful. The host himself cared for us very much, and is a true expert in running a hospitality business. Highly recommended!

Perfect place to have a stop to see tge National Park. Great people, great food. Spacious room, help in arranging safari. Just perfect.

Fantastic base for the safaris. They will sort you out with a jeep and everything you need. Even pack your breakfast so you can eat it in the car. Would recommend A+++

The location of Aliweta is perfect, just minutes away from the safari park and the team sorted all of our plans for seeing the elephants which was great from start to finish. The service was great. Our family room was 2 interconnecting rooms and worked perfectly for us and our 3 year old. We can’t speak highly enough and would recommend to anyone!

Nice place to experience rural Srilanka . No tourists . Just locals who welcomed us with open arms . Remote location , but lovely to see the real Srilanka . Hosts went out of their way to help us and look after us and even gave us a private cooking demonstration which was wonderful . Thanks !

Our stay at Lakmal's place in Udawalawe was wonderful. The place is strategically located very near Udawalawe National Park. The breakfast that was prepared by Sajiwa and his wife, Karuma (I hope I get her name right) was excellent! Wonderful and yummy Sri Lankan cuisine. Sajiwa and Karuma were also very helpful and supportive to our needs. They were very attentive but still giving us enough privacy and independence. The room was sparkling clean and tastefully designed, with unique safari touch to the decor. We really recommend Lakmal's place for anyone visiting Udawalawe. Stuti Sajiwa and Karuma! Stuti Lakmal!

You should book the safari via the hotel. Then it said it was full in the safari which did not correspond to the truth. So we are in the national park on our own, I would recommend that to everyone.

Had a nice stay. spacious, clean room and wonderful beds. Across the street were occasionally the elephants on the fence. Nice pool and nice safari in the morning.

Our family of five stayed at Tranquil Wild for two nights, and it just wasn't long enough! We loved the size of our room, with a mezzanine for the kids, and everything was clean and comfortable. The communal dining and outdoor spaces, along with the pool, were the perfect spaces to relax in nature, with books, games and outdoor toys too. The staff, in particular Amal, just couldn't do enough for us and are an absolute credit to the establishment. Anne too was communicative, and arranged safaris at both Lunugamvehera and Udawalawe for us at reasonable prices, the former with an excellent guide. I was so grateful to have one less thing to do whilst trip planning! We'd absolutely recommend Tranquil Wild as a must do whilst in Sri Lanka.

The stay was really great and the accommodation was stunning. The location is perfect for the safari and they were happy to help organise and answer any questions we had. There isn't a lot to do in the immediate area so the resort was lovely to chill and relax in around other activities. They were also helpful in providing a tuktuk to a nearby restaurant and friendly throughout our stay - would recommend!
