Stunning secret cottage located just steps from Berwick's most vibrant street. Bridge Street is home to 3 pubs, 3 cafés and numerous restaurants. Next to the two-storey smithy (a former artists studio) , you'll find hidden steps opening up to a large garden complete with free-range chickens. The Smithy is an oasis of peace nestled in the centre of the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Dogs are welcome to stay; the chickens are kept in a separate space so that curious canines aren't tempted :)
“The secret cottage is a quaint little bolt hole in a great location in the town close to cafes, pubs and restaurants. Short stay parking directly opposite and long stay a short stroll away with disc parking for 24 hours. The accommodation itself is set in a small courtyard adjoining the owner’s property and has been beautifully converted from an old Smithy. Tight on space but fine for two as long as you like quirky! It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and there were lots of nice little touches ( biscuits, bread, eggs, beer, wine etc;).”

“A wonderful taste in décor has created this beautiful apartment finished to a very high standard. There was everything that we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable and the apartment was immaculately clean. It is very easy to park close to the accommodation which is just a couple of minutes walk to the centre of Berwick and less than 10 minutes walk to the main East Coast railway station at Berwick. The apartment is also ideally placed to visit Edinburgh and The Royal Yacht Britannia and coastal attractions of the Northumberland coast. The property agents were extremely efficient and helpful and access to the property on arrival was very straightforward. Thank you Brian and Patricia for welcoming us to your delightful apartment and for the kind welcome gifts. We will certainly pass on your details to friends visiting Northumberland and would definitely stay at the apartment when we next visit the area. Gill, Steve and Will Burrow”
This is a beautifully furnished, light and airy Georgian flat located in the heart of Berwick. Bridge Street is full of lovely independent shops, bars and some of the best restaurants in town giving this street a real vibrancy. Guests will have access to the flat on the day of arrival using a key safe located outside the property. I will pop by during your stay to personally welcome you.
“The flat is situated centrally on a bustling but not too busy street. It’s handy for the high street and several local bars and restaurants including the Curfew itself which was very handy, especially if like us you enjoy the odd craft beer! There’s no parking at the flat but there’s a large free 24hr car park 5 minutes away and a 2hr stay car park literally over the road for which you need a parking disc (there’s one in the flat if you don’t have one, another example of Gemma having thought of everything, even the little things). The flat has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It’s spotlessly clean, incredibly spacious and a real home from home. We couldn’t think of anything that Gemma could do that would have made us any more welcome and any more comfortable! We can’t recommend it highly enough!”
