Located on picturesque Lake Nantahala, Silver Wolf was built to get our guests as close to the lake as possible while also maximizing mountain views — from every room in this lakehouse. Locals call it the "glass house,” because its lake-side walls are almost entirely made of glass. The home features a large open floor plan that seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor living spaces, complete with indoor and outdoor fireplaces. There are three bedrooms, with 2 master suites, and each bedroom faces the lake. It also boasts a bunk area that sleeps 4. This region of Western North Carolina has a little something for everyone, with activities that will appeal to the adventurous, from white water rafting at the Nantahala Outdoor Center to great hiking trails in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Sassafras is our most private cabin. Secluded at the end of a driveway, it is surrounded by nature. One can hear the mountain streams from the large, covered porch. The furnishings are appropriately rustic yet modern in every since of the word. Free, dependable, high-speed, fiber internet and a smart TV are just two of the recent upgrades. In winter enjoy the floor to ceiling stacked stone gas log fireplace. Hike to a mountain top or visit a rushing stream...all without leaving the property.

The Mateos (named after our architect’s little son) are 4 small and separate bungalows with eye-popping views of Lake Nantahala and the Smoky Mountains through an 8-foot sliding glass door. Each Mateo has a queen size bed, private bath, ac/heat, and a kitchenette with a Keurig coffeemaker, 4.4 cu. ft. refrigerator with freezer, air fryer, microwave, tableware, and glassware for two people. The Mateos are not handicap-accessible. Pets are never allowed – this is a pet-free space ($200 penalty).

The sunsets from the porch are gorgeous. It is not only impressive that this home was built in just the perfect spot to catch an amazing sunset, but also nestled in the middle of Fontana Lake with a great view of the lake. I can’t say enough about this location! I’ve grown up coming to the Carolina’s and never knew about Fontana Lake. This cabin feels incredibly secluded and luxurious, but close enough to all the best adventure spots—Nantahala, Deep Creek, Smoky National Park, Fontana Lake access points, Appalachian Trail—you name it. There is even a great trailhead walking distance from the cabin that has great views of the lake, creeks, and challenging and diverse enough to walk 2-3x. We saw deer and wild turkey almost everyday and the wildflowers were in bloom all over. Additionally, the master bedroom has an amazing view from the bed. When I opened my eyes each morning, I had a view of the smokies that was mesmerizing. We all want to rent this cabin again!

We had the most amazing mountain getaway at this beautiful bothy in Robbinsville, NC. Tucked away on 28 private acres, the setting was incredibly peaceful and surrounded by nature—exactly what we needed to unplug and relax. The cabin itself was spotless, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with huge windows that let in so much natural light and gave us stunning views of the nature around. It was stocked with absolutely everything we could possibly need, from kitchen essentials to cozy touches that made it feel like home. You can tell a lot of care went into making this space special. Our host was outstanding—so friendly, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. You don’t always find that level of hospitality, and we really appreciated it. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape in the mountains, this is the place. We’re already dreaming of coming back!

Amazing view from this house. stepping out onto the veranda you find yourself in a fairy tale. It's impossible to stop once you start taking pictures. The house is very unusual both inside and out. This is definitely one of the most interesting options in the area. I won’t go into details, it’s better to come there and see everything for yourself. It's worth it. Special thanks to the owners for such prompt responses and responsiveness!

Great spot - booked at the last minute and the hosts were super accommodating and easy to communicate with. Really love the area and respect the amount of work N&T are putting into making their property awesome! The RV I stayed in was clean, comfy, and had great amenities. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe here too! Highly recommend!
