what a gem i was able to find! instructions were so clear and host was quick to respond. The area was amazing, there's a lovely bakery that I was obsessed with near by as well. close to the station so vetting there was easy. The place was so beautiful as well, very old school but made you feel right at home. Would definetly recommend 👌🏽

We’ve stayed in many, many Airbnbs around the world, and this one was definitely a highlight. For our two teenage daughters, this home was symbolic of a great trip to Kyoto. This tastefully restored, traditional Japanese home offers a chance to step back in time to an uncluttered, tatami style of living. Modern amenities and an eye for detail combine to make this a truly special place. Comfortable beds, beautiful gardens, responsive hosts. We either walked or took taxis or Ubers from the train station. I will mention that the tall people in our group had to watch to duck their heads in some areas which was to be expected. Being able to navigate stairs is a must. This Kyoto home will be a cherished memory for all of us.

Natsuko is a very kind and helpful host. She made sure we feel comfortable at her place. She even pick us up at the subway station to show us the way to her place and tell us about the neighbourhood especially where the good restaurants are. The place is the same as advertised. It is clean and very cozy. I’m happy that I finally get to stay in a tatami house without spending that much. We got everything we need in there. Location wise, the Midosuji line is a few minutes walk and there are 711 and Lawson nearby. The JR line is also close by which is a very big help on our way to the airport. I got two luggages (one is a big one) which made me worry a lot. Thankfully, the nearby JR line has elevators which made it convenient for us (no need to take stairs like when we were in Tokyo) and we didn’t need to transfer to another line, we just stayed in the same platform to get into another train bound for the airport. It was a very smooth and convenient trip to the airport.

My cousin and their family had an enjoyable stay. The house was clean, stylish, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Tomoko San was very responsive and friendly, making the check-in process quite smooth and answering any questions. I would recommend it to all my friends.

This house is lovely awesome and perfectly clean. Our stay was wonderful and more worth the price. The private onsen inside the tiny Japanese garden is beautiful. The location is very quiet, near the river and less 5 minutes by walk from the station and konbini. Everything you need is provided inside the house, so you don’t have to worry about

We felt right at home with the personnel check in. They were very attentive, helpful and kind with great restaurant recommendations! The house with a traditional feel was impeccable clean. The cherry on the cake were the 5 bicycles provided which you could use for free. also a easy to park parking spot if you are driving. 6 out of 5 :)

This was our favorite airbnb in Japan! We loved the arrangement and decor, visiting the Bamboo Forest and various shrines/gardens and the historic onsen just up the street. We were personally welcomed and oriented by the friendly host (who went to HS in Portland OR, my daughter’s birthplace!) and loved using the bikes, the nearby restaurants and bakeries, and cooking from the convenient supermarket. Thanks for a great stay—next time we should stay longer!

We simply loved staying in this home. The location is ideal for experiencing Kyoto. Peaceful and quiet and yet five minutes to metro/bus stops. And we also walked to many sites and temples. Ume is a gracious host and the home is a beautiful and historic building. We were very comfortable with two adults and two teenagers. Highly recommended.

Det var en helt fantastisk opplevelse å bo i dette huset. Det føles luksuriøst, hjemmekoselig og tradisjonelt på én og samme tid. Det er tydelig at vertene har lagt ned mye i arkitekturen. Yoshihiro og Kazuko svarte alltid fort på melding og hjalp oss raskt når vi trengte å finne noe i en lokal butikk. De kom med mange restaurant-anbefalinger og fortalte med glede om både husets og deres historie når vi spurte. Vi anbefaler virkelig å leie dette huset. Det var en opplevelse for livet og skapte en spektakulær ramme rundt oppholdet vårt i kanazawa. Hvis du skal til kanazawa - lei dette huset!:)

This was our second stay on our first trip to Japan. Let me start by saying the host was amazing, he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. He met us at the train station and walked with us to the house, he had several treats in the house for us as well. He messaged us every once in a while to make sure we were still ok. The house itself is very pretty, I really like the style. It was a decent size (for Japan) and pretty comfortable. All the amenities were working great. The location was pretty good, it was about 5 minutes from a small train station. Several convenience stores nearby (5min walk). This was definitely our favorite stay in our trip to Japan. 10/10 would go again.

Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und sah aus wie auf den Fotos. Die Treppe nach oben war etwas eng, aber nicht weiter schlimm. vor allem die Badezimmer waren sehr sauber und geräumig. Ich kann die Wohnung nur weiterempfehlen.

Yuta’s place was in a quiet, traditional area of Kanazawa with close proximity to the major attractions. A very nice place to stay.

Overall a great stay at a beautiful historic-style Kyoto house. Close to the train stations, convience stores and some great parks and temples. Easy to take a cab or taxi to downtown Kyoto if you don't want to walk or the weather isn't cooperating. Plenty of room for a family, however keep in mind it is a old house that has been restored and they have taken great pride to keep traditional charm - which means it could be challenging for young kids depending on how well they behave. Thankfully, we had no issues. Kyoko was quick to respond if we had questions and once we found the check in location it was a very nice experience and then short taxi to the residence itself. Only thing I would recommend is putting some kind of blinds on the windows as the sun would rise around 5am and without blinds or curtains some of our family would wake up super early from the light. The bathroom, soaking tub and water pressure are all amazing. We would happily stay again on our next Kyoto visit.

Väldigt fint och traditionellt hus. Vi är mycket nöjda med vistelsen som gav oss alla en fin japansk upplevelse i Kyoto. Lugnt och mysigt område och nära till matbutiker och restauranger, perfekt!

Nette Unterkunft zentral in Kyoto gelegen. Es gibt alles was man braucht. Es war sehr sauber und ordentlich. Alles wie beschrieben. Für eine Familie mit Kindern und viel Gepäck geeignet aber man muss kreativ sein mit Ablageflaechen. Treppe ist steil und für sehr kleine Kinder schwierig zu gehen. Unsere 5 und 7 Jahre alten Kinder kamen gut zurecht.

Lovely to stay in a neighbourhood rather than a hotel this time. The property was well equipped and had great air conditioning, water pressure and kitchen. Super great location for getting to the station (with a direct train to Nara), and we walked to the baseball dome too. We stayed as three friends and I think this place would be better suited to a family as the bedrooms were connected and the toilet downstairs.

Great location, close to the subway and to Dotonburi. Host was very responsive to all requests and the space was great for our group of 7.

HiMoewYa is a good host, answered our questions very promptly, even when we asked for a mosquito repeller, she sent us a variety of choices. I will recommend to my friends.

A beautiful and convenient place to stay in Kyoto!

If you’re asking yourself whether or not it’s worth it to book here— the answer is an absolute YES. It is truly one of the most beautiful homes we’ve ever stayed in. The outdoor tub is heavenly and was the best way to beat the summer heat during our stay. The beds are so comfortable, the house was the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever seen (and I’ve been lucky enough to stay in many excellent ones!), and the location is prime for anything you might want to get up to. We couldn’t be more grateful to have experienced Kyoto for the first time here! Truly the most peaceful place to stay in the most peaceful city. Also, the AC is the crispest I’ve ever been in, which was a must. Great all around!
