Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Tōkai Region

We loved our stay at Masa’s place. It’s authentic Japanese house, well located and very comfortable. We were Teo families - 8 people total (4 adults and 4 teenage kids) and it was enough space for everyone. Masa was very responsive and even came in late on the first night to accommodate our request. Matsumoto castle is a 12’ walk from the house and the main shopping street with many cafes 5-7’ walk. We felt right at home, yet very Japanese :). Matsumoto is a highlight of our trip to Japan in large part due to a unique home we stayed in. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Masa!

Staying at Shoko’s house was by far the best part of my entire trip to Japan. Shoko herself is the kindest and most helpful person I met during my stay — truly an exceptional host. The house is absolutely beautiful, extremely functional, and fully equipped with everything you might need. The beds are incredibly comfortable, offering the perfect rest after long days of sightseeing. The location is perfect: right by a charming street with a view of Mount Fuji, and just a short walk to the Chureito Pagoda, which offers one of the most breathtaking views of Fuji you’ll ever see. Shops and restaurants are all around, and thanks to Shoko’s recommendations, I had the best ramen of my life. Thank you so much, Shoko, for the amazing time I had — your hospitality made this experience truly unforgettable!

Thanks for your hospitality for 3 days. I was completely refreshed. It was my first time using airbnb and it was really nice to come. I personally admired the details of the equipment, as well as the facilities such as the barbecue, sauna, and location. Cushioned sofas, sleeping bags, couch chairs, and plenty of sandals. It was a small thing, but these made me enjoy it without stress. Thank you again for everything.

The experience is very good, the wood building house has wood scent as soon as you enter the door, very comfortable house, cool layout, you can also experience the fireplace burning wood, the weather is good, the window is a painting in the morning, can say, the space and design, are better than the photos!

The place is very big and homie and so clean with a lot of facilities.

They were very polite and accommodating. The interior was beautiful, the sea was close, and we had a great stay.

First time try to use the Japanese style hearth, such a great experience! DIY toriyaki using the hearth is so delicious! We bought raw chicken from the store recommended by the host. It is simply the best chicken I cooked! The host is very easy to communicate and very patient!

We had a very pleasant stay with the whole family.I hope the host is very kind again and I would love to stay there again.

Kimiko is very friendly and helpfull. She let me do early check in. It was very helpfull for me because I just landed to Japan after 7 hour trip from singapura to Japan at mid night, and I couldn't sleep well in the plane. Landed at 7 am and I really need some rest. I arrived at 12 pm and Kimiko let me early check in. It was help me a lot. And the room, "Oh my God, I love it!!" It felt like home and it's beyond my expectation. I will stay again here if I go to tokyo again.

The space was large and very comfortable and felt like home.And the surroundings are peaceful.There is a supermarket nearby until 12:00 in the evening and the temple of Jing 'an Temple is only 5 minutes walk.There is a cafe downstairs, a full house and Lawson at the intersection, an extremely convenient place to stay.At night it is about 15 minutes to go to Osaka Castle to see the light show.There are also two stops to Dotonbori and Umeda.Very convenient and safe place to stay

Great location, very easy access to city centre shopping dining. 納涼牀grade patio, great for breakfast and night drinks. Lots of cool air, no need for ac on summer. Host Ken quick response and service. Can help book restaurants.

We had a great stay at Glou Higashi Shinjuku. Despite being so close to the busy Shinjuku area, the place was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The staff was kind and helpful, and the room was comfortable and perfectly suited our needs. The location is excellent, with easy access to transportation and lots of restaurants nearby. We would definitely stay here again!

It was a very luxurious inn, packed with everything you could want in a completely private space. The place was very clean and stylish. The quality and location of the sauna, jacuzzi, infinity chair on the wood deck, and large bath were perfect, and we had the best experience as a couple who love saunas. If I had to say one thing, the kitchen facilities are very well equipped, but the optional meals are not great, so I think it would have been better to bring our own ingredients and cook.

The surrounding area and dormitory atmosphere were very good.There was also plenty of facilities, including a BBQ stove, and we enjoyed it all time.In addition, the bath and toilet were firmly new and clean to the atmosphere of the retro inn.I would definitely use it again in the future!

Staying at Matt and Maya’s beautiful home was an absolute treat! The property exceeded expectations and was a wonderful tonic after six days in Tokyo. We caught the Shinkansen to Ueda and hired a car from the station, driving was super easy and having the freedom to explore the region was brilliant. Matt gave us great ideas for day trips, we saw castles,cherry blossoms and waterfalls, played in the snow and ate great food. As a host he was always responsive and helpful and we really did feel ‘at home’. We stayed four nights but wish we had stayed longer, I highly recommend a stay at Matt and Maya’s home if you want to get out and explore the Nagano region.
