Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Timaru District

This house is just a 27-minute drive outside of Tekapo. We were initially looking into staying at Tekapo but didn’t manage to find “the one” so we explored the towns just outside and found this beautiful place. This house is in the perfect location! This house was well thought of all the floor to ceiling windows just makes you enjoy the view. It snowed on the first night and it felt like we were inside a snow globe - magical! Beds were comfortable, bathrooms had all we needed and the kitchen is well equipped. Definitely worth the drive and worth every penny. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back! ❤️

I had a fantastic stay at Craig’s Airbnb. The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described in the listing. Craig was a responsive and thoughtful host, making check-in smooth and easy. We loved Kat’s place, perfect to relax enjoy the surroundings walks, yet you are close to everything you need. Comfortable beds, lovely lounge with a fireplace and lots of personal touch’s that always makes a difference to the experience. After 3 days there, my wife and I felt so at home, that we really did not want to leave.

Great place for a group. Good kitchen and living area was very comfortable for relaxing after work. Big bedrooms and comfortable beds.

A lovely, peaceful little stay! Perfect little home away from home while we were traveling. The owner was kind enough to let our dog have a run in the paddock which was wonderful. And the owner's two dogs, Blue and Rocket were absolute sweeties. Will definitely stay again if we are passing through!

what a wonderful place to stay. perfect for a 2 room is very spacious and warm and quiet. Bridget communication is excellent. the extra pictures showing how to access the property were very helpful. Great value for money. Will definitely book again. Thankyou Bridget.

We loved having our own little place, the view was terrific, having plates and bowls and utensils was great! Being able to walk to the market and bakery with probably one of the best meat pies in NZ was so worth it!

We enjoyed staying here on our first visit to Timaru. Easy access to the large community park and Caroline Bay across the street. Beautiful decor and furnishings made our stay very comfortable. The windows kept things quiet and offered a terrific view of the bay. The patio was a great perk. We had a fun time on bikes on Hector’s Coastal Trail but the highlight was seeing a blue penguin at the port! Hope to come back again.

Alhena and her amazing property in Caroline Bay was absolutely amazing. The aesthetics of this place is just Devine, it is such a beautifully presented place to stay. And also so practical for a family to use (we have two children under three). It was spacious, great location. We had a wonderful welcome from the owners upon arrival. A lovely guide book of the area which for food especially we really appreciated. For someone who has never been to Timaru this has definitely made our stay even better. Also such an amazing view from the lounge room. Wish I could take some of the furniture home with me 🥰

We had a great night's stay. very clean & comfortable studio unit. The property is rural but easy to find on GPS and not far from SH1. Gerard & Trish have created a wonderful garden, including native bush, which Gerard showed us around. Nice continental breakfast was also provided, with some of their own produce. Even a couple of Easter eggs as we were there Easter Sunday. Highly recommend.
