A sprawled out old house built around a grand courtyard, this room leads to an interconnected balcony which gives a view of the city below. The room is infused with warmth and luxury and it reminds you of a bygone era. Here, the time stands still when you witness the magnificent sunrise or the breath-taking sunset. Also, This place is the house of Maharaj Mahendra Singh Ji who pioneered Tourism in the Jaisalmer City and put it on the Tourism map of India!
“If you want to experience, how kings and queens lived for centuries, this is the place to go in Jaisalmer. An exquisite and charming 900 year old residence inside the fort; with vintage rooms at a height of 250 feet, with a birds eye view of Jaisalmer, is a thing I will remember for a long time. The rooftop dinner experience is unique and the surprise anniversary cake is really nice. We are very thankful to Pikoo and her team for a wonderful stay. The only short fall if I may say is probably the food, which I believe could be better. PS: People who are expecting 5 star hotel amenities may stay in 5 star hotels only. If you are serious about experiencing local culture, experience of living inside a fort with Royals, this is the best place to be in. Regards Srikanth and Veena”
We're a happily married English-Indian couple running this Amazing Golden Cosy hotel in the heart of Jaisalmer. This lovely en-suite room has clean bedding, fresh white towels and a sparkling bathroom! There's a seating area too with a TV so you can chill out and relax. It's located in a quiet side street close to The Fort, the Desert, Patwon Havelli and other key tourist attractions. We have a fantastic rooftop restaurant and organise incredible camel safari experiences too.
“We had a fantastic stay at the Golden Marigold Hotel. The pictures make it look nice, but it’s even better than that and we ended up extending our stay in Jaisalmer to spend more time here as we felt so at home. Great high pressure shower for hot showers, large comfy beds and spacious rooms. Unbelievably good value! The rooftop is also a real asset, we spent many hours up here reading with a chai (or beer) enjoying a panoramic view of Jaisalmer. The location is great - just a short walk to the fort. It’s also near to the lake which is definitely worth a visit - we spent our first morning relaxing there after our train got in and it was heavenly. Above all Phote and his team go above and beyond to help you and make sure your stay is as good as possible. Without sounding cliched, it really did feel like a home away from home and we hope to return in the future. As a final point, we arranged camel safari via Phote and had a lovely night under the stars. It does get a little chilly at night so take plenty of layers.”
My place is 16km north of Jaisalmer in a small village called Mala Ki Dhani. I built 4 guest huts for travelers who want to stay close to a real Rajasthani village and experience our culture. You’ll love my place because the incredible desert landscapes, rich culture and hospitality of my family. I can also guide you around Jaisalmer and arrange special experiences like camel safari. It will be my great privilege to host you in Jaisalmer, I hope you will never forget your stay at our village!
“Leave behind your life of couch and sofas and beds and linens, and take this throbbing experience of lifetime. No AC but way better than that. No fridge, but way cooler than that. No homely bed, but way too cozy than that. Sleep outside in the night and let those stars be the light of your bedroom, you will see the world as your private room, and you will definitely love it.”
