Shepherd's View: Now with Starlink

DeniseRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Our 9 day stay was everything we could have hoped for and more. Jeremy and Brenna were very responsive and friendly while giving us our space. I cannot emphasize enough the privacy this rental provides, plus, all the birding I was able to do on the deck as it was peak spring migration. It was spacious and our 4 year old Corgi, Barney, felt comfortable from day 1. Everything was clean and neat, and I loved the "sheep" theme. The swing down the way has an amazing overlook although we had mostly cloudy evenings so we missed out on a sunset. I think the icing on the cake is renting from local residents. We are so drawn to West Virginia and Appalachian culture (I'm from there), and everything we encountered was true to my roots. Also, there are so many one lane backroads we traveled, which is always an adventure as you never know what treasures await. Lovely people, lovely place, lovely getaway. We'll be back!

Bears Den on Greenbrier River

Great place to stay! Clean, cozy, and a beautiful view. The firepit and provided wood made our stay even better. Proximity to the river was wonderful, too. Would definitely recommend!

We had an awesome staying here!! Perfect base camp to visit New River Gorge NP, and the accommodations were amazing! Loved the tent, the comfortable bed, and all the additional touches provided by Amanda and her husband. Highly recommend a stay here if you’re in the area 😃

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at this airbnb. It was just what we needed for our short stay. My favorite thing was sitting on the lawnchairs in the yard and just resting outside staring at nature. Thank you so much for such a peacful stay!

Cottage on the crystal clear Gauley River

JenniferRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Tucked back in a little holler along a quiet, crystal clear river, this cottage is a lovely gem to kick back and relax in after spending the day enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the local area. And there's so much to do in the region, especially if you're the outdoorsy type, and this place is close to all of the cool stuff you'll want to do. There's also plenty of nature just sitting on the back porch (if you're lucky, maybe the neighbour's chickens will come visit). We didn't rent the kayaks this time around, but we definitely will next time. Indoors, you'll find comfortable furnishings, a roomy and modern kitchen, washer and dryer, three bedrooms (with very comfy beds) and nice linens. And bonus! The bathtub is deep enough to actually take a bath in! Everything is clean and neat, decent parking, and so much better than any hotel. Michael is quick to respond if you have any questions, and gives you your privacy if you don't. A good host. 😊

Sweet Country Cabin: Sandstone!

SamanthaRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Cheryl and her husband were wonderful hosts- very responsive and welcoming. The cabin was beautiful and in a very secluded, peaceful area. We loved our stay. The remoteness does pose some challenges, but Cheryl was very up front about that, so I'm not complaining- just want to reiterate what others have said. I feel bad giving only 3 stars for ease of arrival. That was only because of the lack of cell reception (making GPS less reliable) and the challenging unpaved road. We had an SUV, which was ok but a truck would have been better. The internet seems to be much better since they switched to Starlink but it did stop working on a couple of occasions.
