Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Surry County

Place was an amazing stay and a great find! We loved the cabin and it had everything we needed and wanted. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone we know traveling to the area! Amazing host, amazing cabin and an amazing area!

The house was amazing with lots of room and a beautiful view of James River. We saw lots of wildlife like eagles, osprey, rabbits, lizards, deer etc. It is in a great location away from everything and a short drive to ride the ferry to Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. We wanted to enjoyed all of the historical places since all of my kids love history. One day was supposed to be rainy so we stayed in the Surry area and visited Bacon’s Castle and Smith’s Fort. Both are very interesting places to visit and I highly recommend them. It was my husband and me with our 5 grown up children all ranging in ages of 18 to 31. All of us wanted to visit all the historical spots and even did a Civil War Ghost tour that my youngest son really enjoyed. Everything was great. Coming back to the house was so relaxing either by the tv or making s’mores by the fire pit. The beds are comfy and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. This is a perfect getaway and I hope to stay here more in the future.

Dan and Sam were very friendly, responsive hosts. The house and setting were beautiful and perfect for a family. The toys and books in the kids' room were a huge hit, and we all enjoyed the ample outdoor seating and very comfy beds. The ferry was super convenient and fun to watch, without actually hearing any traffic. And we saw so many osprey and bald eagles from the porch! I was charged with finding a rental for 6 adults and 3 kids, and each adult (and my kids) told me that this home was a gem! I'm so grateful to Dan and Sam for sharing their home with our family!

Sooo much better than a hotel. We were in the area for a graduation. Two parents, two godparents, five children, six grandchildren, and one girlfriend. All coming and going eating and sleeping at different times. The home was large enough to accommodate all of us after the graduation for a celebratory meal. Beautiful views of the James river. Our family had a wonderful time at Jeffrey’s place. The home is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, and had everything we needed (including lots of kids books and toys). My children loved the private beach (it’s amazing) and exploring the property. We found fun shells, and even a few shark teeth. We daytripped to Jamestown and Williamsburg (10 min to the ferry, 20 min to get across) and had a wonderful time at both places. My kids had a blast riding the ferry (getting out and watching from the upper deck is a must). Definitely plan to get groceries ahead of time - it’s pretty remote, in a good way. Lots of fun wild life to spot - bald eagles, turkey, deer, even a skunk! Fun was had by all, we would stay again.

The house was immaculate and clean. It was also the perfect space for our little family. We enjoyed coming back to a clean and refreshing space after a long day of sight seeing. The house was also in the perfect spot; close to all of our vacation destinations and grocery store. We enjoyed playing card games in the evening in the refreshing A/C. Would recommend!

Really nice quiet place on the James River. Kitchen and living room/breakfast area served our family really well. The house is close to the Jamestown ferry which allowed us easy access to the historical sights of Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown and some great restaurants in Williamsburg. A great place.

Beautiful home with a warm feeling as soon you walk in , things to do for the kids such as board games, utensils for drawing and a lot of creative history and antiques to look at throughout the home. Very beautiful and clean stay, made you feel like you’re right at home! Kelly was very responsive to my messages and is a great host was more than happy with my stay during the new years ! Very close to Busch Gardens as stated and easy to find. The home was very clean and had lots of brochures for nearby activities and restaurants. Everyone including myself stated having had great sleep. The host is very easy to get ahold of and quick to respond. I highly recommend this Airbnb!

we had a very good stay! The place was very close to a few museums and within a 15 min drive to great restaurants and other attractions. The two bedrooms were perfect for a family traveling with children and the extra small child amenities were excellent!5/There were a few issues during the stay (WiFi went out and a small sink problem in the bathroom) but the host got them fixed immediately! I'd definitely book this property again!

We had a great stay at Eddie's place! Very close to restaurants, Colonial Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens. The unit we stayed in was spotless and had all of the amenities that we needed during our stay. Highly recommended!

Anne's place was just spectacular! Perfect for 2 couples as our home-base to explore Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown. The high end furnishings are beautiful. The patio, yard and lake view were wonderful. We enjoyed the theater room each night. Thank you for a great vacation.

This apartment is a hidden gem. Great location, felt completely safe, loved the added snacks and water and Brittany was very responsive.

I had a wonderful stay at Raisa’s apartment! The place is very close to the water and since it is pet friendly I brought my dog. The neighborhood is beautiful with lots of historic homes to walk around and look at. It’s also very close to the highway so it was easy to get around. Thank you so much!

This condo is very basic and styled from when it was built. There is a great little coffee shop at the center of the resort that this condo is located in. A keurig is present in the unit but no coffee supplied so make sure to bring your own if you need a pick me up as soon as you wake up. I had the TV instruction sheet but could not get either to work so make sure to bring an iPad or some other device if you want to stream shows.

Very nice place peaceful. We enjoyed the balcony. The place was close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay wle will definitely be back. The steps where a little to much but great overall.

Kingsmill is a naturally beautiful planned community where you could have lots of adventure and sport out of your back door with options for dining and exploration or you could just enjoy the beautiful views of the James River and the sounds of nature around you. Highly recommend for either!

Jared was an excellent host. The unit was exactly as described and very easy to find. He responded to all inquiries very quickly. This might have been our best Airbnb experience so far.

Can highly recommend Crystal's condo. She was great to work with, very responsive and her condo had everything we could have needed. Our stayed played out exactly as we'd hoped. Would gladly stay here again if our travels take us back to the Williamsburg/Newport News area.
