Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Sunset District, San Francisco

I was in town for Snowflake Summit with colleagues and I thoroughly enjoyed Eva's place. It was away from the craziness of the city center and much more roomy than a hotel would be, but only 1 min from the L tram station to take me straight to Powell and walk to the Moscone Center. Above and beyond location, the home was extremely clean, very peaceful, free of clutter. Eva and her co-host were also very responsive and I appreciated their help. Would recommend to anyone!

Anna’s place was exactly what my family was looking for! Comfortable, great location, felt like a private home. Would love to book again.

We enjoyed Heather’s bnb so very much, we plan on staying there every time we come to the Bay Area. Clean, quiet, comfortable bed, well provisioned kitchen, lovely and lush green patio. It may be that we stayed on a special holiday, Thanksgiving, but Heather made us a plate of fantastic chocolate chip cookies! Who could ask for more? Thank you, we loved it!

The home was wonderful and everything we needed for our stay was very close by. The views from the backyard were tranquil and we had a great view of Golden Gate Park.

We loved our stay at Sara’s place. It was pretty, clean, easy to find and located in a really neat area with lots to explore on foot. Just what I was looking for, and I definitely hope to return this year to explore some more. I highly recommend her place …

Fantastic place that is a short drive from Golden Gate Park! Peaceful and safe location with plenty of safe parking. Home was spotlessly clean. Ilya was a great communicator!

This place didn’t match the photos… it was so much better. We thought it would be drastically smaller- it was well appointed and decorated, and the slide doors to make the bedroom cooler and darker to sleep was wonderful. Everything was comfortable and surprisingly quiet for the city. Although the driveway with its cement damage was too high for our little car, it wasn’t super difficult to find parking close by on the street at any time, and it would have make it harder to unload and load the downstairs. It was the SF experience I was looking to give my husband in all the best ways. Ended our stay with a lovely morning walk to the beach.

If you're looking for a proper launchpad to go hit the city with your friends, Jack and his family offer the best deal in SF! It's a clean place in a clean, quiet and safe neighborhood. My favorite Pizza place ever, "Golden Boy Pizza" has a location that's only a 3min drive away from this wonderful house, so that was a huge bonus! (June, 2025)

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb in San Francisco. We arrived quite late at night (around 11 pm) after a long journey from Australia, and the host had kindly left out snacks and milk for us, a thoughtful gesture that made all the difference, especially with our baby who was struggling with jet lag. The home was peaceful and quiet throughout our stay. Despite some reviews mentioning noise from upstairs, we didn’t hear a thing, even with the host’s child living above. Overall, it was a comfortable, welcoming place to land after a long flight, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. We’d love to return in the future!

The place was delightful - warm, homey, all the amenities for a comfortable stay and great location. Walking distance to beach and local rests and coffee shops. The hosts were friendly and helpful. It was perfect. High recommend!

Barbara was one of the best hosts, if not the best, that I have encountered over my many years of travel. She was responsive to messages and was just so polite and friendly with recommendations and tips for navigating San Francisco. The little touches of snacks and special drinks were really appreciated. The room decorations with the wine histories / business books and mid-century furniture and lighting made for a wonderful space to relax in. The bed was very comfortable.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We have had many rentals in the outer sunset area but this one stands out for good reason. Not only is it in close walking distance to the park, coastline and restaurants but the kitchen and laundry room were well organized and stocked. We felt immediately at home in the comfortable & spacious living room. It is with pleasure to highly recommended this lovely Airbnb stay to others.

I loved Albina's place. It was so perfect for what we were looking for. It was cute, easy to find, easy parking and just so lovely. The highlight was the view. The bedroom window looked out to the city and the ocean. We never even turned the TV on since the view from the bed was just spectacular. We literally just watched the ocean and boats going by as the sunset before our eyes. The moon then came out and we went to bed just staring out at the sky. I hope to be able to stay here again. It was such a magical retreat.

Lovely stay in a peaceful neighborhood We had such a great time staying here! The place is cozy and had everything we needed. The neighborhood is super quiet and beautiful — perfect for relaxing. The host was wonderful: very friendly and always quick to help with anything. The backyard was a real highlight for us — it’s full of safe and fun things for a toddler, including a slide, a sandbox, and plenty of space to run and play. Our child absolutely loved it and didn’t want to leave! We’d happily stay here again and definitely recommend.

I love staying at Lainie and Charlie’s place. It’s quiet with a beautiful garden. It is an easy and accessible location. Lainie and Charlie are very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay there again on my next trip.

We parked up at the accommodation and used plentiful public transport all day which made it very relaxing. The apartment had everything we needed and we would happily stay again. Alice was very responsive and helpful. Thanks!

Four of us very much enjoyed our stay at Markus's apartment. The place is ideally located, not far from Mission Dolores Park. In spite of being on a main street, the bedrooms in the back were completely quiet. The apartment has, on the whole, a high-end feel: Thoughtfully, coherently, and stylishly decorated (clean aesthetic with some mid-century modern pieces, uncluttered but not stark); plenty of light, high quality furniture; interesting art. This felt like a home: books on the shelves, well equipped kitchen, stocked with spices, condiments, cooking oil, tea, etc. I could imagine living in this apartment exactly as it is. The host communicated promptly and responsively, accommodated a non-standard check-in time, and generally made himself available. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to staying here again.

Pamela’s place was wonderful. Neighborhood is safe and walking distance to cute shops and restaurants. Pamela was very kind and communicative. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

Very convenient location, easy walk to UC Berkeley. Even though it's near a busy intersection, it felt very quiet and peaceful. The unit is much more spacious than I was anticipating and it was nice to have a complete kitchen. Al is a very kind and responsive host. I would definitely recommend!

The stay at was fantastic! The place was clean and cozy, and had everything needed. Nader's prompt responses and helpfulness were appreciated. Staying here is highly recommended!

We had a fantastic time. The view was second to none, with easy access to the beach and restaurants. Kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. Great coffee shop within walking distance (albeit with a decent hill). We happened to stay when whales were just off the coast and saw them from the shore. Could not have asked for a better day. For those with mobility issues - you do need to climb about 10 narrow steps to get to the tram, which lets you skip the rest of the stairs. But there is no way around those first steps. Would absolutely come back.

Amy met me to give me the keys and walked me through the condo to explain everything. It was a very personal approach. She also reached out to me the first morning to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Everything was spotless and very high end. The place was very quiet and peaceful. I especially enjoyed the patio. I would highly recommend Amy's place to anyone looking for a base to enjoy San Francisco. I intend to stay again the next time I need a place in San Francisco for a few days.

Ehson's place was a little haven during our stay in San Francisco, located in a wonderful neighborhood. As with any old building, you might hear the upstairs neighbors sometimes, but it's all absolutely worth it for the view and the cozy atmosphere. The sunset from the rooftop terrace is addictive. It’s a great spot: you can walk everywhere, and the cable car is right there. There’s also a great little grocery store on the corner, and plenty of restaurants and bars nearby.
