Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Strafford County

Every year we pick a place on the lake between Mother's and Father's day to celebrate over a weekend. We love to kayak and visit the local eateries while relaxing in nature. This year we were fortunate enough to find Katherine's home in Acton, ME for Memorial Day weekend. The house was spacious, comfortable, clean, and homey (and right on the lake)! Katherine and Nick were both very responsive and friendly with check-in check-out and we loved the places listed on their travel guide. The house is a short hour drive from Kennebunkport and Portland so we took some day trips during the rainy days and floated around the peaceful inlet of Mousam Lake when sunny. Leaving the inlet takes you to the rest of Mousam Lake where we saw motor boats, jet skis and one person wake boarding! Our old dog, Shaggy, had a blast and the long road leading to the property gave him the ability to run around without bothering any neighbors, who were all very friendly! Definitely worth a return visit!

Very helpful when needed help around the house. Some places of the house has guidance on how to use specific things. Very good and quiet location, definitely would come back

Absolutely fabulous weekend at Mary’s cottage by the lake. We loved our stay and had an amazing time. Things to note: - there is a short walk to the water access. While we were there, the lake unfortunately had a Cyanobacteria bloom so we were not able to swim but this was remedied as the association has access to pools. - The main living area is on the second floor but there are bathrooms on both levels! - There are no fires in either the indoor fire place or outdoor fire pit with the exception of duraflame log fires allowed. Overall we loved our stay and are hoping to return soon!

A great cozy place to stay for my grandson's graduation. This house was perfect, with a nice big deck outside. The hosts were amazing to work with and were very helpful. Location was great, looks exactly like the pictures. Highly recommend staying here. A short walk down to a cool little beach at the end of the street.

We had a wonderful stay over the weekend! The place was absolutely beautiful—peaceful, serene, and the perfect escape. The house itself was beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches throughout, making it feel cozy and welcoming. It was also very well stocked with everything we needed, which made our stay even more comfortable. A big thank you to our host for her warm hospitality and attention to detail. We truly appreciated the care she put into making our visit so enjoyable. Highly recommend, and we’d love to return in the future!

Fantastic spot. We stayed in the fall. It was quiet on the lake. We enjoyed SUPing and Kayaking. Was happy to find “one earth” natural grocer up the road a bit. We enjoyed a fire in the wood stove every night. The Loons were a special treat too. It is steep and lots of stairs to the water but worth the climb. :) Lea was so accommodating and responded immediately to every inquiry. Hoping to book again next fall!

My family and I had a serene experience staying here. Although the weather was mostly rainy or cloudy, we loved the lake location and maximized the indoor, outdoor, and nearby activity options. The hosts were so responsive, regardless of the question, and made this a truly delightful visit. This was my parents’ first Airbnb experience and it set the bar higher than I could have imagined! My family and I are already talking about coming back!!

The Beach Cottage met all our expectations! The setting was just what we were looking for as we love Rust Pond. Even in rainy weather, it was great to walk, go into town or just plain relax. Thanks so much for the opportunity to rent in such a special setting!

Linda’s house is beautiful, clean and peaceful in a lovely area of Seacoast NH very close to downtown Portsmouth, shopping, beaches, i95 but also very quiet and private. She was an amazing host, very helpful and responsive and the price is a great deal. We especially enjoyed grilling on the patio and seeing the deer and turkeys in the backyard. Thank you Linda!

What a great place to relax! There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms so everyone has their own space. and there are roku tvs in EVERY bedroom. What a plus! There is a large kitchen table and a bar with chairs in the kitchen....plenty of seating. The living room is so comfortable with nice leather furniture and plenty of ways to kick your up after a long day! The master bedroom is very large with a couch and chairs and extra large walk in closet! All of the windows allow guests to see the beautiful lake and surroundings. plus there's plenty of parking, a dock, AND an outside area to grill and enjoy the fresh air...Day or night. And to top it all off, the host is the greatest...Quick to respond and just does a wonderful job making the stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible...I look forward to visiting again!

We all had a great time despite the fact it rained almost the entire time. The house was comfortable and we found plenty of activities to do. House had everything we needed. Wir hatten eine wunderbare Woche. Das Haus ist toll. Die offenen gemütlich eingerichteten Wohnräume auf zwei Etagen und kleine separate Schlafräume bieten genügend Platz und Rückzugsmöglichkeiten für mehrere Erwachsene. Das haben wir genossen. Und aus allen Räumen Seeblick! Wegen der kühlen und feuchten Witterung während unseres Aufenthalts konnten wir Garten und See leider kaum nutzen - wäre sonst sicherlich ein Highlight gewesen. Unbedingt weiter zu empfehlen!

Cyndi’s place was amazing! My wife and I are expecting our first baby and wanted to have a Babymoon weekend with our family. The house comfortably fit the six of us and our dog, and we felt at home and relaxed. The available amenities were great, especially to make s’mores and play games in the yard. The fenced yard was perfect for our dog, and the home is a five minute drive away from the town’s local restaurants and stores. Great location, great hospitality, and overall great time! We will definitely be visiting Wolfeboro again when our baby arrives. Thank you for some unforgettable memories, Cyndi!

We love that the place is well-stocked and has everything we need. The grill is nicely large. We also love that we are not expected to clean instead of enjoying our vacation. I would only like the check out to be a little bit later than 10 am but it also didn’t bother us for that particular trip so everything went as perfectly as it could be for us.

Our stay was wonderful! The home was so much more spacious than we had expected. It worked out so well for all of us. Throughout the stay, I had a few questions and Steve was quickly and kindly responsive. We hope to definitely get to come back again. Thank you Steve!!!

8 of us stayed for a girls weekend and it was such a great spot!! Super clean, cozy, right on the lake which made morning views beautiful. The hot tub and eat in kitchen were used every night. Our only issue was that 5 cars were tough to fit in the space we had so take note if you have an above average size car. Otherwise they were very communicative and accommodating. We would stay again 100%!

This was an excellent stay! The house was beautifully situated on a peaceful lake, clean, and the location was perfect for relaxing weekend away. Plenty of space for seven adults. Wether it was roasting marshmallows by the fire or lounging in the hot tub, this house had something for everyone. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout my entire stay. I would highly recommend this listing to anyone!

Ryan was an amazing host and had a beautiful spot right by the water as well as the wedding venue (The Greenery). the place was spacious and the pool and hotter were a bonus.

Great getaway location that allowed us and our guests to relax prior to and after our Daughter's Wedding celebrations. It was winter and the view of the snow and frozen lake was stunning. Thank you.

I stayed here with my 4 nephews from 6-12 years old and 8 adults for a family vacation. If you are looking for a great place to relax with family this is ideal. Also the fishing was phenomenal.
