House holiday rentals in Starved Rock State Park

Jennifer & Tony were fantastic hosts; personable, quick replies, and proactive. The house was amazing, even better than the pictures. The backyard was huge and perfect to have the kids play. The beds were so comfy. Perfect house to be home base when visiting the area. I definitely recommend this place and the hosts. Looking forward to next year's visit "back home".

We had our 9 person family here with our 3 dogs and the space was perfect. Lots of games and pool time for the kids and adults alike. The charcoal grill was hard to get right but we are just not used to dealing with that type of grill! Lots of hiking in nearby areas.

Sharon was incredible from booking until even after check out. She responds within minutes to questions. The area is lovely. We have my husband’s kids from time to time and have always stayed in the townhomes. This was a nice change. The pool is great although small on a hot summer day. We will definitely be back! The space is perfect for a family reunion or get together.

Richard's place was great and as described. We will stay there again when in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is in a quiet, pet friendly neighborhood with lovely views of the river. Everything we needed was provided and we liked the layout of the house. Regarding sleeping accommodations, there are beds for 6 people (2 queens with twin bunks above each) and additional sleeping options are provided via a pull-out sofa and 2 futons.

This place was so much fun! Busy and quirky but in a fun way. I had never seen anything like some of the decor and it was really interesting and cool to look at. Big fenced in backyard for our dog. We used this as a home base for Starved Rock State Park and Matthiesen State Park. Only 30 min from those places and 30 min from Ottawa (cool down town). I would definitely do it again.

This private property, situated along the river in a tranquil and serene community, is truly remarkable. The rental matches the photographs perfectly, exuding warmth and charm while offering breathtaking views from every level. We appreciated the convenience of the open-concept kitchen, and having two full bathrooms along with a half bath on the main floor was a significant advantage. The master bedroom provided a comfortable retreat, allowing us to enjoy restful sleep. Although the sun did awaken us earlier on one occasion, the stunning view that greeted us upon opening the curtains made it worthwhile. The area boasts an array of excellent restaurants, all thoughtfully recommended and organized by our host. We relished our time at a winery for drinks and dined at several outstanding restaurants and a brewery located downtown, all of which were also suggested. We eagerly anticipate our return. Lynmari proved to be an exceptional host, and we extend our gratitude once more.

Sondra's place was amazing. I am a seasoned traveler...and I love researching accommodations. I am picky, I have high standards, and being comfortable (location, environment, space, bedding, etc.) in the place I stay is really important to me. I pretty much only go for Airbnb's anymore. Sondra's place has taken the first place position of the best place I have stayed at. She has fine taste and high standards as to what she puts out for her guests to use for a homey and comfortable stay. Our trip was to starved rock and matthieson park and were happy to drive 30-min. to stay at her lovely home.

Comfortable, & clean airbnb on a quiet road!

Cathy’s place was exactly what we needed when staying a couple of nights for a Saturday wedding in Morris. Clear instructions & she was very responsive and helpful. Very glad we chose to stay here rather than a hotel!

The place was exactly what we were looking for, to get away and do some spring hiking. Vanessa was great with communication.

We had a great stay, everyone-ages 2-70, enjoyed themselves. We loved the river view and plenty of areas to gather. It was good however, that there were many of us to keep an eye on the 2 year old, who loved exploring the many steps and rooms with some items we wanted to keep him from.

Alissa's home provided a backdrop for my family to stay in and extended family members to drop by to visit while we were in town for two days for my grandmother's memorial service. I chose her home because it was furnished in such a way to allow for multiple conversation settings. Her Craftsman was adorned with carefully curated vintage furnishings which made the home visually appealing. The kitchen was updated with modern appliances, which we didn't use, but many useful items for cooking were present. My aunt and uncle who are brother and sister each had a private room on the main floor. They remarked that the memory foam mattresses were very comfortable. My husband and I and our two teens stayed in the lofted upstairs bedroom. Those beds seemed more full size than queen. We were cozy, but we did sleep well. The two full baths were side by side on the main floor, which worked well. One shower was a walk-in; the other shower was a deep tub. All rooms were thoughtfully appointed.

We had a wonderful experience at Sheila's airbnb! Her cabin house was beautiful and very homey. Decorated with antique furniture, quilts, & wood floors, but mixed with modern upgrades such as new bathrooms and kitchen. It was stocked with all the essentials and she responded quickly to any questions we had. It was also fun to walk down the nearby river paths and check out the local coffee shops. We definitely hope to stay there again!

Nice house in a quiet neighborhood near downtown. I would stay there again for sure. It's an older house, but nice and roomy and complete kitchen. Nice front porch. Wifi worked great. You do need to do a bit more clean up and sheets to the laundry when leaving but then you avoid a cleaning fee- so that can be worth the effort but do leave extra ten or 15 minutes for chores at the end

Needed a last min place and Scott accommodated us, we really appreciate how responsive and welcoming he is. Truly appreciate the last min help!!

House was great! Had everything my crew and I needed. Very comfortable and the deck over looking the lake was a great place to relax after work.

This place was a cool historical experience, since there are very few of this type of house still around. Good location to many activities in yhe area. Linda was a delight and very responsive to questions. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Had a great stay in Montgomery. House was clean and in a great location. The hot tub was the perfect way to relax after our 12 hour drive. We also enjoyed the firepit. Lotzy was a great host -communicated well and even gave us a heads up about a few details before we even checked in. House is close to the river which looked gorgeous- wish we had time to go check it out. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I came into town for memorial day weekend with some family and friends. The house was beautiful and pristine. We were so close to lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. We were a short drive away from Starved Rock and Matthiessen state parks and got in lots of good hiking. Ruki was a great host. She was very was friendly and so responsive. If we're ever back in the future, we'll definitely stay here again!
