Wonderful place to stay in Unawatuna. Close to everything, easy to get bus/Tuktuk but such a peaceful environment gorgeous house and gardens. Lovely dogs who were so quiet at night. Ajith was really helpful and accommodating to extra requests. Lovely breakfast each morning.

We had a lovely stay in Darshaka’s property. His Mum, Veneetha cooked us varied, delicious breakfasts each day. The whole family were very friendly & helpful. We enjoyed a chilled break through this part of our journey in Sri Lanka. Thank you 😊

Madu’s place was fantastic—peaceful, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing stay. The house is fully private, with its own kitchen and bathroom, offering great comfort and independence. The host, Madu, is incredibly communicative and helpful. Whether you have questions or need assistance, he’s always reachable, either in person or via phone. One thing to keep in mind: if you want to be close to the city center, it’s about a 20–30 minute walk, as the house is situated near the second river up north. However, this also means you get to enjoy a quiet, secluded space with almost no neighbours. (bonus: you get to see some fireflies at night) If you have a scooter, getting around won’t be an issue at all!

Lovely welcom drink and really nice family was the first impression. Room and bed were good and bathroom clean.

We had another wonderful stay in the villa this year. This time I didn't book directly by the sea, but a little further back. The room was very big and the two beds were very comfortable. The terrace was a dream, where I could enjoy my coffee every morning at 7 a.m. with a great view of the sea. Breakfast was as delicious as always and really plentiful (great Sri Lankan breakfast on request) ❤️ The whole team is as helpful and friendly as always. You come as a guest and leave as a friend. Shamila is very welcoming and a good host. She had welcome smoothies at our arrival and also made breakfast every day, either toast, pancakes or some Sri Lankan breakfast. The place looks just like the pictures, very clean and nice. There’s also scooter rental possible at her place. You can walk to the closest beach, but have to walk a bit further to come to the nice parts, so I would recommend to rent a scooter to get around easily in town.

I had a great time staying with Naleen and Wasana, they were extremely helpful, helped me to arrange transportation, bike rental and occasional lunches and dinner, it is nice plays worth it is money with extremely pleasant and caring hosts. definitely recommend staying there

We slept three nights in this wonderful house and it was amazing! The hosts are very nice and accommodating. They have the best breakfast in Sri Lanka and they will try to fulfill all your wishes. It was really great. We would always come back!

Really great accommodation nearby to beautiful quiet beaches - as a female solo traveler I always felt safe. Manju’s food is also the most delicious food I’ve eaten in Sri Lanka, would return just for this!

Sanduras place was beautiful. A hut in the middle of the jungle. Very friendly staff and Sandura's hospitality was outstanding. Go with caution as there are alot of leaches in the rainforest.

Kirinuga is a nice place to relax and a perfect break from the city. It has a beautiful garden where you can relax in some outside beds. Renate and her crew are really friendly and will help you if needed with anything. The breakfast is included and you have a few options and all of them are really delicious! The fruits we ate there were one of our best fruits on the whole trip.

Perfect place for a little romantic getaway in the beautiful Galle fort! You couldn't ask for a better location, kinder hosts, and a more delicious breakfast. Highly recommend staying at the Dutch Wall:)

We stayed 4 nights, very nice accommodation, beautiful kitchen, everything is functional. Very good welcome from Nisha, always smiling and ready to do you a favor. She even adapted the French breakfast which is hearty ... she booked a scooter for us, bus, tuk tuk nearby, small convenience store, very good cheap restaurant 5 minutes away on the beach. We highly recommend.

We had a very nice stay here. The room was clean, the terrace a great plus. The drinking water, which is provided, was also great. Manoj and his family served us a great breakfast every morning directly on our terrace. In 2 minutes you will be on the beautiful quiet beach where you can swim and surf. Manoj was accessible at all times and responded quickly and helped. Everything is wonderful, you don't go wrong here:)

True gem of a place run by 3 lovely ladies, who make you feel unbelievably welcome, from the minute you arrive. The rooms are clean, large and very comfortable and the restaurant food is exceptional. It was incredibly relaxing to sit and look out over the clear Indian Ocean; perfect for that early morning dip before breakfast. The location is ideal for Galle, Unawatuna and Dellawella beach, where you are guaranteed to swim with the turtles. We stayed for 5 weeks and enjoyed every minute we were there.

I had a great stay with my parents at Sumimal resort, the location is great and you can explore Matara as well as Mirissa from this place. It is at a walking distance from the protected turtles beach. The place is clean and it is as it is in the pictures. On arrival fresh coconut water is awesome. I ate at the resort itself, home cooked traditional meal, it was delicious and I am already waiting to plan my stay again whenever I return to Sri Lanka next time. Bandu homestay/guesthouse is truely unique ... beautiful artistically painted quirky rooms & bathrooms/balconies set in a verdant lush garden of tall multi storied plants that's truely awe-inspiring conveying a natural peaceful ambience with its mangos, birds, squirrels, peacocks & even monkeys ... I couldn't stop taking photos of the place. Bandu is happy to sit & chat with you about Sri Lanka with excellent English & his wife makes the best tea in the morning & I was lucky enough to be offered curry & roti on occasion. Unawatuna is not my favourite beach but this is my "favourite" Airbnb & I will return in the future
