Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in Sri Lanka

Hareesz was very friendly and helpful. Everything was to our satisfaction. The house is situated near the lake in a quiet environment. It is only about a 10 minutes walk to the town center. There are restaurants nearby. I would immediately go there again if I am visiting Kandy.

We stayed at Grace Green Ville Homestay for 6 days and had a truly memorable experience. The home was spotless, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, with a lovely garden that made it even more relaxing. Renuka was an incredible host, kind, thoughtful, and always attentive. Her homemade food was absolutely delicious, and she took such care in preparing each meal. One day, after a casual conversation about our favorite desserts, she surprised us by making it from scratch, it was such a touching and thoughtful gesture. She constantly checked in to make sure we were comfortable, and we shared some warm and meaningful conversations during our stay. Her hospitality made us feel completely at home, and her kindness left a lasting impression on all of us. We couldn’t have asked for a better host. Thank you, Renuka, for everything, you made our stay truly special!

The property is spacious , green and airy. Two big beaches (Kalkudah and Passikudah ) are just 200 metres away in opposite directions to each other. The host ,Mr,Arul, and his wife ,Usha, made us feel right at home. The breakfast was complimentary . It was vast, very delcious and had variety. We also opted for dinner at the Arul's property as it was so good. Seafood curries ( Fish and prawn curries) were made in heaven and the variety of vegetables offered was great! Here all the guests are offered welcome drink on arrival. Water dispenser is provided for all the guests so there is no need to buy plastic water bottles. Laundry services provided . A/C in every cottage but we rarely used it as cool sea breeze keeps the room walls cool. We had a great time.

Madu’s place was fantastic—peaceful, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing stay. The house is fully private, with its own kitchen and bathroom, offering great comfort and independence. The host, Madu, is incredibly communicative and helpful. Whether you have questions or need assistance, he’s always reachable, either in person or via phone. One thing to keep in mind: if you want to be close to the city center, it’s about a 20–30 minute walk, as the house is situated near the second river up north. However, this also means you get to enjoy a quiet, secluded space with almost no neighbours. (bonus: you get to see some fireflies at night) If you have a scooter, getting around won’t be an issue at all!

Really nice place, the host is very friendly and hospitality. You can rent a bike here, It is very convenience for tourism.

We had a great stay. The location is an easy walk to the main beach and restaurant strip. The pool is a great addition and as it appears in the photos. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend staying here!

It was a beautiful stay, we could feel very home and without reservation although living in the same house with the host family (in separate Appartement of course). The Family is very very friendly and the dogs lovely and quite. We got delicious breakfast and dinner delivered to our balcony. The garden at the lake is beautiful and we felt peace to wake up with this view. We slept with open doors and fresh air and it was very quite. Everything is possible to get (dinner, scooter rental, massage, beer, airport shuttle, excursions) so it is a great service. We also especially liked that we don‘t have the feeling to have to pay for every small thing like at other places, here the kayaks, bikes and Breakfast are included in the price/for free. The neighbourhood is nice and safe. Thanks for the great stay and hospitality- we are so happyto have found this places for last enjoyable days of our vacation!

Getting to the place was really adventurous. But it is worth every meter to get to this fantastic place. At night you have the sounds of the jungle and fireflies around you. I have rarely seen such a beautiful thing. In addition, the place is super nice and the whole team is absolutely eager and helpful

The host was so wholesome and made the experience truly unforgettable. Top tier as far as a human goes unfortunately couldn’t stay longer. Till next time Shehan! You really made this place special.

Guy was very helpful. The access to the pool from washroom and the outdoors is crazy.

If you are lucky enough to find a free slot then don’t walk, but run to book it! This place is really cool! It was our first time and the first stay within our Sri Lanka experience and it was perfect. Of course it is a little bit more pricy than other ones but we thought it is totally worth it. Calm area but close to nice (& lonely) beaches. We did a lot per foot but you can also take tuktuks. The little “climb” up to the villa was totally okay for us and it rewards you with perfect views. All recommendations were perfect (restaurants, guides, driver) We would come back or recommend to friends 100%! Thank you Nipuni & Wasana for the delicious breakfast (milk rice ❤️) and thank you Dinidu for the recommendations and Pathum for driving safe & more on time than any German will ever be! Only two small things we would possibly change: mosquito net for the rooms and the smell of the bathroom.

Beautiful and clean place right at a wonderful and not crowded beach. Amazing breakfast with view of the ocean and super friendly and helpful host, who also organized a driver to Colombo for us the day we left. Very good restaurant in close walking distance, which had just newly opened: Ember Beach Hikkaduwa. Everything else is easily accessible via TukTuk.

Donis place is one of our favourite places in Sri Lanka! We even came back a second time because we just love it here. The room is so clean and beautifully decorated, the bathroom as well and it smells so good:)) The best is doni herself. She made us an incredible breakfast every morning and let us use the washing machine for free! Also she is such a kind and caring person. She made us really feel at home! The area itself is really quiet and we could rent a scooter from doni to explore the beautiful beaches! I’m sure we will be back a third time if we can :))

Our best find in Sri Lanka. Hosts, Michael & Ruwanthi are so friendly & helpful, going out of their way to make sure we had a truly wonderful time. Glyn Myu is beautiful, luxurious & very comfortable. The location is quite simply breathtaking. Ruwanthi is an incredibly talented cook serving exquisite meals with most ingredients gathered from her extensive garden. Her knowledge of the dietary & medicinal properties of her homegrown larder is very impressive. She is also delighted to share her passion & knowledge. A Sri Lankan gem where we felt welcome, relaxed & immediately at home. They have a very informative website with contact details!

Chani and Lali were lovely hosts! Very accommodating with check in, greeted us on arrival and were very friendly. The room was as pictured & described - very comfy bed, hot water! Shared kitchen facilities were very good, plenty of space in the fridge to keep what you wanted chilled. Location wise, the place is excellent - a very short walk to restaurants and the beach - but set back far enough to be peaceful. The hosts held our bags for us on check out day as we had an early start for a whale watching boat trip booked. Chani & Lali have built a lovely little sanctuary which felt really peaceful to stay at. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay :)

Really great accommodation nearby to beautiful quiet beaches - as a female solo traveler I always felt safe. Manju’s food is also the most delicious food I’ve eaten in Sri Lanka, would return just for this!

A beautiful family room tucked away from the kaos of the Main Street. The room was beautiful, spotless and comfortable. The balcony was lovely in the mornings and the beach towels provided were a welcome touch. Everything is within walking distance including the beach, cafes and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous place. Highly recommend!

We had another wonderful stay in the villa this year. This time I didn't book directly by the sea, but a little further back. The room was very big and the two beds were very comfortable. The terrace was a dream, where I could enjoy my coffee every morning at 7 a.m. with a great view of the sea. Breakfast was as delicious as always and really plentiful (great Sri Lankan breakfast on request) ❤️ The whole team is as helpful and friendly as always. You come as a guest and leave as a friend. My first place I stayed at in Sri Lanka and I really enjoyed it. Many travelers Iet raved about it also but in comparison to other places they'd stayed. Liked: The complimentary breakfasts that were great. The ac rooms. The monkeys on the roof! The super friendly and smiling neighbors. Short walk to the beach. Deck to sit on and read was peaceful. Washing machine. Bottled water to use. Didn't like: The kitchen wasn't as stocked as I'd like. The spices could use labeling and a refeash, the knives needed sharpening too. A cutting board would be nice (could help keep knives sharp longer too). Overall it wasn't so much a house stay as I was expecting, but more like a hostel of sorts. I loved it and would recommend.
