Holiday rentals with breakfast in South Portland

2025 marks our third year running staying at Elizabeth's lovely home in Maine for an annual fishing trip to Lake Arrowhead! I could not recommend staying here enough due to the privacy offered, comfortable sleeping arrangements available for several guests, homey living room for lounging, and excellent set-up for fishing, grilling, and building a campfire. Elizabeth's home is truly the perfect place to retreat for a relaxing and cozy getaway! It's clique to say but her house truly feels like home away from home for our group. Each of our stays has been incredible not only due to what the house offers but also due to Elizabeth's excellent communication leading up to our trips and during our stays. She is incredibly friendly and always highly responsive to texts and calls to answer any and all questions! We're already looking forward to next year!

Emily’s place was the perfect getaway for our long weekend in KPT! We loved staying here and look forward to coming back!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Julie's lakeside home for Father’s Day weekend. The setting was serene, with beautiful views of the water, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy quality time together. We enjoyed our stay at this family farmhouse. The hosts were welcoming and great communicators. The house is on a quiet residential street. We had everything we needed - fans, kitchen utensils and gadgets, linens, and towels. It was nice to stay at a place that the owners stay in because there were comfort and convenience items (like lamps in the right places, comfortable seating arranged for group conversation, coasters, throws) that are often overlooked in places that are set up solely for AirBnb rentals. Lots of games - the big room would be perfect for families with active children.

Can’t say enough about the location and for every bedroom to have an ocean view is spectacular. Even packing up to go, while enjoying the view, was not laborious. Will definitely want to return. Kitchen was well-stocked. Gino was a great at communicating.

Absolutely lovely! A very unique space with the perfect balance of quirky retro cottage meets family lake house. We loved spending time outside whether it was on the dock and in the lake or relaxing on the screened in balcony upstairs! Would absolutely do it again!

I had a great stay at the Doll’s House! Perfect location close to the walk around Back Cove, close to all downtown Portland had to offer… but in a quiet neighborhood that felt very safe. Neighbor was out gardening most mornings. Great coffee in the morning, well equipped kitchen and comfortable house all the way around. Bed & bedroom were great & cute backyard. Pamela was easily reachable and responded to any and all of my questions. Thank you for a great stay!

Jen is incredible and her place is beautiful! So nice and spacious. We only stayed for one night but would definitely stay longer/again. She responded so quickly if I had a question and even was so kind to leave me a birthday card with decorations on the table for my arrival. Amenities were wonderful, beds so comfy, if you need a place in Old Ochard look no futher!! ❤️

Thoughtfully designed and appointed place - has all the things you need and Marcia makes it very easy to get in and check out. Easy to get to Lewiston, Brunswick, Portland and everywhere in between!

Wanting to go camping without all the work?! Definitely check this place out, well worth the stay and felt like we were glamping in the middle of nowhere!

Loved this stay! Caron was very responsive and the house manual was very helpful. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Portland!

We had a great time at Joan’s cozy condo! She made freshly baked goodies upon our arrival, it was delicious! 2 min away from the beach! The location can’t be beat. The only downside was the train, very close to the house, that passes roughly every three hours during week days. If you don’t mind the nose, the place is perfect for a small family, friends and couples. It had different board games, beach toys for kids, foldable beach chairs etc. Overall great place! The unit was very clean and had all the kitchen appliances we needed. The beds including mattresses and linens were very comfortable and plenty of blankets were available. Location was great to visit the sights in Bath. We'd definitely stay here again.

Hands down my favorite Airbnb! Emma and Dave are thoughtful, responsive hosts whose space is a tranquil and restorative. It is beautifully designed with comfortable beds, furniture and perfectly layered lighting. The neighborhood is very quiet and we slept soundly every night. In fact, I feel like we did a little less sightseeing than we normally would have because we just didn’t want to leave! Our daughter loved the cozy sleeping nooks. Every detail was considered. I’ve already recommended this location to a couple of friends who live in Boston and would gladly stay again if we find ourselves back in ME. Loved every minute of our stay! Thanks, Emma and Dave!

The bed was super cozy, the host was responsive and friendly, and the cats were adorable! I had a nice evening with the host chilling with the cats (and petting and playing with them) while watching TV, and when I stepped out for dinner I found a great place following her recommendations. The breakfast was great! The French toast was delicious, and the timing was perfect - made fresh shortly after I came downstairs, close to the time we’d discussed the day before. Check-in and check-out were simple too.

This is the second time I've stayed with Marsha and Steve and I never wanted to leave! Their home is beautiful and welcoming, as is the island. Can't wait to come back :)

This was our first time staying at the Candlebay Inn and we definitely will be back. Connie was so wonderful and sweet, greeted us at the door—gave us a brief tour and local recommendations. The Daisy Room was super cozy, very clean and quiet. In the morning, home cooked breakfast was delicious, Connie was nice enough to tell us about the backstory of the inn which we really enjoyed. 10/10 recommend!!

We only stayed for one night but had such a good night's sleep! Peter and Karen were the perfect hosts. Responsive when we asked questions and were very accomodating! We particularly enjoyed the warm, bathroom floors and the spruced up studio. 10/10 would recommend to other travelers :)

Had a wonderful time at Daniel’s Airbnb! We were greeted with a warm reception and delicious apple cake with delicious sweet tea! I can’t say enough good things about Daniel and his beautiful home. We felt right at home. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. Our accommodations were very comfortable. Best part was the delicious breakfast with coffee and tea and scrumptious omelette with homemade hash browns! I wanted the recipe! I highly recommend Daniel’s place, it made our vacation a little more special! PS: Reds Eats in Wiscasset Maine was the best ( Paul Newman and Robert Redford ate there too) Thanks for the recommendation!!

Dr. Jerr is a very kind and generous host - he provided us with fresh coffee and breakfast snacks each morning during our stay. We loved the location on Cape Elizabeth, close to Portland, and to many beautiful coastal and woodland trail walks. We came home laden with fish, flash frozen from the fish markets in Portland - thank you Dr. Jerr for your recommendation. We would wholeheartedly recommend staying with Dr. Jerr for exploring the stunning Maine coast and hope to find ourselves back on Cape Elizabeth again next year. Tom & Gillian Hamilton

WOW! Just wowwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! The million dollar view of the water, boats, buildings, birds . . . just breathtaking especially at night when it's all lit up. My quarters were comfortable, clean and so cozy. The hosts were so kind and gracious . . . even baked biscuits! They offered the hot tub and a walk down to the beach. I didn't do those things, as I already had a full itinerary of activities to do in Maine. The lighthouses were all minutes away by car. Great restaurants minutes away. I had a lovely time. If I ever return to Maine, and I'm pretty certain I will . . . I'm definitely staying with Dee and her husband. Thank you for making my first trip to Maine so pleasant and headache-free. Bill was a great entertainer and great host. The room was great and simple. Easy to walk to the shopping and restaurants. Great breakfast! I would highly recommend the James Place Inn B&B.
