Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Sooke

The Swell House is the best home we have ever stayed at, anywhere, in the past 10+ years we've been on Airbnb. Waking up to beautiful views of the water, the sound of the waves, sipping a warm mug of coffee while bird watching, are just the start of each incredible day of our weekend. We also decompressed in the private sauna facing the water at sunset. Inside the home, every room was stocked with everything you could possibly need, including some personal touches and extreme attention to detail. The expansive yard was perfect for our dogs, and also had a bountiful garden growing fresh veggies. We enjoyed using the grill each night accompanied by the produce. In the evenings, we relaxed by the wood burning stove and listened to the record collection. Throughout the weekend I barely used my phone as I felt so relaxed and connected with the coast. We will definitely be visiting again and we look forward to our next stay at the Swell House!

Despite looking at the pics online, the first thing we experienced when we walked in was a collective breath in, and an "ooooh" out. What an eccentric, quirky, charming home, full of personality - bright green plants lining the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, everything from a really tall cactus to banana(!) to flowering hibiscus. A hobbit shed in one corner competing for attention with daffodils on the roof(!). Amazing photos lining the walls, art from around the world, live edge kitchen counter, differently sized logs of wood acting as window panes, a wall-to-wall stack of old national geographic magazines. All of this, of course, paled in comparison to the view from the window, of sailboats docked in a cove, bounded by evergreens around, and a gentle lapping orange sky below. Absolutely perfect place to relax with a coffee mug and a book. The hiking was great too, we hiked some evergreen rainforest and a couple of beaches. And a 30min drive to Victoria. We loved it!

This may have been one of the best Airbnbs that we have ever stayed at. When you walk in you feel at home right away! There is everything you need and they had even gifted a beautiful bottle of wine and there’s pasta, tea, coffee, salt pepper and even milk in the fridge. You can walk in and just make yourself comfortable right away. The view and the outside area are great as well and we loved the beds! They were so comfortable! Would highly recommend staying here.

Really great suite to stay in Sooke. Walkable to restaurants, and within very easy driving distance of great beaches and hikes. The suite itself is comfortable and cosy perfect for 2 people. Has everything you need.

Priceless views and amazing architecture are showpieces of this magnificent home that combines coziness, elegance, comfort and rustic charm. We’ve stayed at many airbnbs, but this one is a new favorite. It’s an ideal getaway for the whole family; plus it’s close to interesting hikes and restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked for eating at home. We didn’t enjoy the taste of the well water, but bought drinking water at Tru Value. Carley was very responsive and helpful throughout. We would love to come back in the summer.

What a beautiful and peaceful gem to stay in Jordan River! The place is absolutely worth the trip. We loved every aspect of the house and location and wish we could have stayed a lot longer knowing how special this place is. It is surrounded by beautiful coast trails and beaches and the restaurants in the area are amazing. If you are wanting to get away from all the noises, this place is it!

What a wonderful place. House was bright and airy and beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed and more. Lots of cupboard space in the bedrooms, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen. We were 4 adults and there was tons of space for all of us. It was a great experience and although it was a bit of a drive into Victoria it was definitely worth it.

The log cabin was the perfect place for us to stay after an epic West Canada road trip. Quiet, comfortable, relaxing. Walkable to nearby supermarkets and places to eat. Great communication, checking in on us to make sure all was well. Would stay here again!

Had a great stay here with my family. The unit is in excellent condition and was perfect for the four of us. The location couldn't be better - steps from the Inner Harbor, walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. Would love to come back!

This place was GORGEOUS. The layout of the house is so nice and big. Perfect for our trip. My husband and I traveled with our medium/large dogs and a friend and we never felt on top of each other. The kitchen and dining room were huge! They had everything possible to cook with. We thought we’d be eating out for our three night stay but ended up cooking two of the nights! The backyard is magical. Hummingbirds galore. The pond provides beautiful sounds all day. Beds were comfy and pillows weren’t stiff. The hot tub was a dream. Felt like a resort. This place is a real gem. We already booked another stay!

Our family of 8 felt right at home. Everyone having a king bed was very helpful. Kitchen was very well stocked for cooking. Sean answered back any inquiries quite quickly. We highly recommend Sean’s place.

Derek’s place was very clean and cozy. It was very welcoming and we felt like home when we stayed at his place. My family were very comfortable while staying there and Derek was also easy to communicate wiith. Overall we had a wonderful time.

We spent 4 nights at Wayne and Lisa’s lovely cottage. We really appreciated the well equipped kitchen as it had everything we needed. Comfy bed, wonderful deck and amazing large windows that let the beautiful sun in. Very bright and cheery. Much more comfortable than the tents we stayed in on the same site years ago. 😊

The street was very quiet. I think there was only one or two other cabins that were being used that week, which means we had a very peaceful stay. We locked out it was also very sunny the entire week. The place was amazing with big windows, it was clean, bright and beautiful. Thank you very much Cheryl. We had a wonderful stay. Lily and Tommy are great hosts with a grimly golden retriever (Toby) that loves to play fetch. Fab art and very quiet space with quick access to all the delights Sooke has to offer. Very responsive— very delightful stay!

Overall, we would happily visit again. I live near the area where this is situated, but had family visit from abroad, so needed a bigger place. The view was amazing and super tranquil. The BBQ was amazing. The hot tub was used and calming. There was a deck to jump off into the lake which was refreshing in the summer weather. The fire pit was one of our favourite elements. The pedlo boat was HILARIOUS fun (highly recommend). We cannot talk this place up anymore if we tried. If it was a little cheaper, I would make regular visits as we are only in the door step, but you won’t regret this stay. Get Booking! Some great memories to come away with! Thank you all!!! 😊

We spent 6 nights at Jena's home and had a really good time! The apartment was exactly how we imagined it based on the photos and the description and we felt right at home. We don't have a car (we rented one for a day) and still found lots to do in the area. The nearest bus stop is approximately 10 minutes from the apartment, the town center with supermarkets and restaurants about 20. We'd recommend it to anyone that's looking for a cozy and quiet place on Vancouver Island.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Tim and Emis place in Langford and it was a delightful experience. The check-in process was seamless, and was incredibly welcoming and responsive to any questions I had. The space itself was beautifully decorated, clean, and well-equipped with everything I needed for my stay. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the toffee bar and mineral water. The location was perfect Overall, I highly recommend Tim and Emis place to anyone looking for a cozy and convenient stay. I would definitely return on my next visit.
