Shepherds hut holiday rentals in Somerset

Had the best couple of days staying at the hut, was greeted by Alexandra who was extremely friendly and helpful she showed us the facilities and hut. hut itself was a lovely little place, we could've happily stayed for longer. If we are ever back in the area we would definitely stay again, thanks so much :)

Sam's place was a joy to stay at! It's an annexe of an old house on the high street with a lovely bedroom overlooking a courtyard and a spacious living room and kitchen area which overlook the garden. The garden is full of fruit trees and wonderful plants and is very well tended. A bathroom and a second toilet made getting out in the morning easy as well. Castle Cary is a wonderful town (recommend the Somerset Wine Company and the Gallery which Sam and his wife run!) We did use the jacuzzi (for an additional fee) and sitting in there listening to the live jazz from the bar and looking at the stars was a dream. We made a new friend in Bobby (the dog) who just wanted to play fetch Loved our night there and would happily return!

I had a wonderful stay. There has been some storm damage to the hut I was due to stay in so Linda called me and let me know she had plenty of other options and put me in a wonderful alternative hut. The hut was spotless, warm (with enough wood to keep me warm all weekend) and cosy. Linda was very friendly and responsive. Moonfleet is a beautiful place to spend some time away from normal life and feel in the country side. I can’t wait to go back!

We had the best time here! Penny and Ant were so welcoming and kind. They gave us maps and recommended nice walks in the area which was so helpful. The shepherds hut itself was perfect, really cosy with the wood fire stove and great selection of games. It has everything you need, nice hot shower and Penny provides delicious breakfast food and scones. Such a special place, can’t recommend enough!

We had a lovely couple of nights in the Everdene shepherd's hut. It was so peaceful, with stunning views. The hut itself was spotless, and spacious enough for the three of us ( 2 adults, one child ). The shepherd's huts are set aside in a separate area to the main camping pitches. It has a log burner and fire pit, with plenty of logs available. The shared bathrooms were very clean, modern, and spacious. We didn't have any real queries, but Linda was responsive to messages, and we met her in person after we'd arrived, when she seemed to be walking around the site, checking her guests were ok. Moonfleet Farm is a great location for exploring Dorset. The Fox pub is a 10 minute walk away, across a couple of fields. We plan to return in the October Half-term!

We loved our stay at Adam's hut. It was in a great location and very cosy. the bed was really comfortable and the shower is large and easy to use. Adam had provided all the essentials needed and the hut was thoughtfully presented in a price little green area of it's own. We didn't actually meet Adam (my fault entirely) but he was a very welcoming, helpful and responsive host. The area is really lovely, the hut is in the pretty village of Porlock and there is plenty to do in the area! We recommend the Valley of the Rocks walk which is wonderful, exploring pretty Lynmouth and Lyton, taking the Lynmouth and Lyton cliff railway and walking from Whetton Cross to Dunkery beacon (it's a beautiful walk!). We had a great stay at the Pleasant Pheasant! Make sure you bring USB chargers! We only had USBC which aren’t compatible with the charging points. We enjoyed the circular walk from Wheddon Cross village to Dunkery Beacon and would highly recommend Woods in Dulverton for dinner!

Wonderful stay in Chris’s Shepard’s hut! Very comfortable and cosy. All facilities satisfactory and easy to use. Perfect location for lots of good walks. Very peaceful garden, the viewing platform was a great addition. Chris was a great host, communicated well and very welcoming. Would love to come again!

A rather wonderful find! The Rumple Hut has been well thought out and very well equipped! The bed is very comfortable, having a snuggle sofa has been brilliant! The hot tub is a real bonus. Anthony has been very informative regarding where to visit and what is around in the surrounding area. On our arrival, we were greeted with freshly baked bread and scones drinkies 😋Delicious! We really felt spoilt! The Rumple Hut was very relaxing and was a fantastic stay! Highly recommend!

Sean, Mel, and Leon were some of the best hosts we’ve ever encountered, warm, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming. They went above and beyond with lovely touches like complimentary drinks, chocolates, and a stunning handwritten card that made the experience feel extra special. The building itself is breathtaking, beautifully designed and impeccably done. Every detail feels curated to create a peaceful, luxurious haven. The bathrobe was plush and cozy, adding to the overall feeling of indulgence and care. It’s also just a short walk into the quaint town, which has so much charm, and it was really easy to get to from Bristolm the perfect little getaway. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Fiona’s Shepherds Hut. It was decorated and finished to a high standard, very comfortable and actually feels bigger inside than expected! The log fire was great (although it gets very hot very quickly, probably our fault and put one too many logs on, we actually had to open a window at one point!). Fiona was very responsive to our questions and queries, including when the solar power went off due to the poor weather. (The farm shop directly over the road also do an incredible breakfast!) Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and is an ideal base for a quiet weekend away. Thank you Fiona!

We booked a short notice night away at the weekend as a surprise father's day trip for my husband. The Shepherds hut was absolutely fantastic and more than we could of asked for. A wonderfully restful and unique experience. My boys (8 and 4) were so excited by the concept and loved the views (as did we - they are spectacular). Check in was simple and Elizabeth was easy to communicate with in the run up to our stay and in person and gave us some great recommendations. The finish was to a high standard and in agreement with all the other reviews, the beds extremely comfortable! I've already sent the link to a dozen friends as this is a hidden gem! thank you for having us.

Just got back after spending the weekend here was so relaxing , was spotless had everything you would need Kates very responsive and there to answer any euphoria might have , it’s true what other reviews had mentioned waking up in the morning to the cows outside❤️ there’s was marshmallows and sticks which we used with the fire pit after we got out the hot tub ,once heated after just over two hours stayed warm for hours was so relaxing , also the bed was so comfortable making me now question my own bed . Already looking into booking next month such a nice break and well worth the money

Fantastic place to stay to be immersed in nature and to get away from it all. Lovely hilly woodland glade with springs and river running close by. I found the roads good for cycling. Beautiful area, and private, cosy wagon with everything there including towels, cooking area, running water, compost loo, outdoor hot shower and bath. Lots to go out and see in the area too.

A wonderful stay at the Collie for 2 nights. A wonderful well equipped Sheppard's Hut and the extra special touches that Chloe provided from the arrival hamper to the hot tub being preheating for arrival. The views across the Somerset levels are beautiful and the night time sky was perfect for relaxing around the fire/bbq and in the hot tub. Thr local area of Glastonbury and cider farms add to this lovely weekend.

Fabulous place that is beyond what you would expect from a Shepherd’s Hut. Great thought and attention to detail has clearly gone into building and designing this place. It’s deceptively spacious and has got everything you need and more, the hot tub and outside seating are real bonuses, all in all a fabulous spot.

What a beautiful relaxing stay for our 1 year anniversary. Even though it was raining mostly, it didn’t stop us enjoying a relaxing evening in the tub! Andrew was so lovely and the place was immaculate. Will deffo be back! Thank you (chickens were a bonus)

Clean and cosy Shepherds Hut in an absolutely stunning location. The hut has been so lovingly and skill-fully crafted. It has everything you need and is very comfortable. We loved sitting on the decking in the evenings and listening to the birds. Would love to come back.

My partner and I decided to be spontaneous one night and book a get away. This is our first time using air bnb or doing anything like this. I’m glad we chose this as our first trip! Robert was such a gentleman, the hut was clean and had everything we needed along with being well presented and the location was easy to find. All round great experience from start to finish. We will defiantly be coming here again. Thank you to yourself and your family for the little treats and the fire pit is incredible! Thanks again Lewis & Jessie

We spent an enjoyable few days staying in the Shepherd's Hut, walking in the surrounding countryside. Everything about the accommodation was exactly as described. The hut is in a really private and peaceful setting with superb views and lots of bird life too. Sarah was a communicative and friendly host. This is a great location to escape from the busyness of everyday life. We loved it.

Great little hide away, the cabin was tidy and spacious even with the bed down. The fixtures are beautiful and the dimmer switch really adds another level of chill to the space. would definitely recommend for a relaxing romantic getaway for couples!

Sally was a great host, welcomed us in and explained everything so we could make the most of the amenities. She recommended great places to go and the shepherd's hut was lovely and cosy. Can't ever go wrong with a hut tub too! Would stay again!
