Small studio cabin nestled in the corner of our family property, located less than 100m from the beach in the lovely relaxed Ruakākā village. Our cabin provides a private get away for 2 guests and dogs are welcome too! The bathroom is outside - a private outdoor shower and toilet, a little bit different to the norm! The cabin features a big bed and a cute private courtyard to sit and enjoy the sun. Please note - there are no cooking facilities but there is coffee/tea, a toaster and bar fridge.

I’ve been to more than 30 airbnbs throughout my life - both my wife and I agree this was by far the best experience we’ve ever had at an Airbnb. Modern, new property, directly in front of the water with a large front yard with bench’s, swing, and hammocks. Quiet, peaceful and safe suburb. Lloyd is also an excellent host and extremely friendly - we were welcomed to the property with a bottle of red wine, and also provided complimentary milk, tea and coffee. We were also offered paddle boarding equipment and were allowed to check out late from the property. Four square is only a short 5 min drive and open late. The waterfront setting and view were definitely the highlight. Worth a lot more than the advertised price. Cant recommend it highly enough

Joan was amazing as we had not planned to stay another night in Whangarei and she was able to accommodate us at very short notice! Thanks so much Joan! You were a life saver! The drive out to Whangarei Heads was lovely in spite of it being dark. The following morning it was stunning! What a beautiful location! The cottage was lovely and warm and was clean and tidy. It was comfortable and our fur baby even enjoyed her stay. Thanks Joan and Adrian .

Large Modern House in the Treetops

Our long weekend at Trish's place was one of the best weekend's we've ever had. The house is absolutely stunning and breathtaking - whether it's a sunny day or a rainy afternoon, the floor to ceiling windows make you feel like you are out in nature yourself and make you just instantly relaxed and have that holiday feeling. We had lovely days at Ocean beach (quick 10 min drive) and walking up Mt. Manaia with a few afternoons at the rock beach at the bottom of the road. The house was immaculate - a true chef's kitchen with everything you need for any level of cooking, gorgeous plants & ambiance and plenty of seating/areas to relax. The beds were comfy with lovely linens and it was a real bonus to have three bathrooms and showers. Trish was an incredibly helpful host with great response times and was very flexible. I could not recommend this stay more - it was truly the escape we needed from Auckland and left us with just incredible memories.

The house is a good size and fairly spacious but very basic. It's an older batch with a good heatpump. The kichen is great, enabling to cook proper meals. Has sufficient plates, cutlery etc. The bathroom is a good size, good water pressure and hot water. Didn't really feel that private but it's ok. Being allowed to check in 1h early was appreciated. Being pet friendly is great. Overall, good value.

I loved my stay at this Airbnb! The space was beautifully decorated—so stylish and thoughtfully designed with everything I needed. It felt like a home away from home. The location was perfect—quiet and peaceful, yet still convenient to explore the area. I slept so well thanks to how serene the neighborhood was. The host Karen and Craig were responsive, welcoming, and made sure I had a fantastic experience. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, chic retreat. Anne was incredibly responsive on messages. Made us feel welcome and we had a lovely stay at her Airbnb. The location is incredible, right by the sea. The kayaks and paddle board were a great addition. We were very lucky to have even seen some dolphins while kayaking. Wish we could have stayed longer !
