Cottage holiday rentals in Sligo

Grace's house was a real treat! Nestled away in the trees overlooking the river made it feel so private and peaceful. The house itself was so cosy, clean and inviting but had plenty of space and different areas to relax. The grounds were amazing and the kids had a ball discovering the swings, hottub and reading shed. The whole place was magical and we were sad to leave. Grace was very responsive to any communication and made us feel so welcome. The house location was a great base for some of the stunning sights Donegal has to offer and we were very close to many beautiful sandy beaches. This house was the best airbnb we have ever stayed in! My partner, doggy and myself had an incredible time at Catrionas. We stayed for two nights and sat in both evenings and enjoyed the amenities. Catriona has three lovely dogs and so many cute farm animals - we were lucky enough to see baby bell as a 3 week old lamb. Most importantly Catriona was very accommodating of our dog who can be a bit funny (being very kind), she was a great host. Her place is the most perfect tranquil piece of heaven! Would recommend it to everyone :)

We had a great stay at this Airbnb. The space was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The wood-burning hot tub was a highlight—though it took about 2–3 hours of tending the fire to heat up, it was incredibly relaxing once ready. The surrounding ponds added a peaceful, scenic touch, and we really enjoyed walking around the area. Peter was a responsive and helpful host, especially when I accidentally left something behind—he kindly let me return to pick it up. Overall, a lovely and memorable stay.

My wife and I had a lovely time at a charming little cottage. The atmosphere was cozy, and we enjoyed the sauna and hot tub immensely. We also liked having a bonfire outside for extra warmth and fun. Although it rained during our stay, we found that the cottage had good sound systems and a TV. This allowed us to listen to music and enjoy a wonderful evening indoors. Overall, we highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing getaway! :)

The house is gorgeous and so cosy. Mairead was so friendly and helpful and we had a brilliant time. pics don't do it justice was a fab little retreat. absolutely recommend. Glenties is a lovely wee town too and locals were so friendly. had an amazing trip

Loved it - we'll 100% be back (and we try not to go to the same place twice!) The cottage was a perfect mix of rustic, beautiful, clean, practical and spacious. We usually book older properties with a bit of charm; Shaun's place had this AND felt both premium. Muffins and apple pie were waiting for us when we arrived - a lovely touch. And his mum baked a birthday cake on request! Shaun was super-responsive to any queries. We had a few difficulties with the Aga cooker and Shaun helped out quickly. The only improvement we can think of is to secure the back garden - it was big and private, but dogs can easily walk from the back garden out onto the road at the front of the cottage. It would have been perfect if we could have left dogs outside unattended for short periods. Only flagging this for fellow dog-owners. Lovely beds, bathrooms, living area, kitchen and the 'green house' out the back was perfect for a few evening wines while cookingout there too :) Brilliant stay.

Absolutely amazing! Even better than the pictures. We were very lucky with the weather so the views were stunning. The house itself was lovely and had everything you need. Bed very comfy. Great beaches and walking nearby. Would definitely stay again!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans l'adorable cottage , authentique et chaleureux. Paddy est un homme charmant , soucieux de notre bien-être. Ses conseils sont précieux. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié sa gentillesse. Et puis , comment ne pas évoquer Jack ? Un plaisir de le retrouver chaque matin et le soir en rentrant de ballade. Nous avons ainsi découvert le Donegal dans les meilleures conditions.

My family loved our stay at Ardcarne Lodge. Brian and his parents were helpful and welcoming, with lots of local recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing, and the lodge itself was utterly charming. We also appreciated the fresh flowers, and the grocery essentials in the fridge. Our stay here was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland!

If you're looking for a traditional Irish country cottage, with plenty of space, and privacy, you won't go wrong with this. Margaret the host was fabulous from the moment it was booked and really couldn't have been more helpful. The cottage has everything you could possibly need, both indoors and outdoors and it was lovely to find some buns, milk, orange juice and water on arrival. A very nice touch. Thoroughly recommend the host and the cottage. Book with confidence - you won't regret it.

This was our 3rd time at Paivi's place and we can't wait to return. It truly is a magical place. There wasn't a cloud in the sky the whole time we were there and it honestly felt like paradise. Paivi is an excellent host. Couldn't rate this place high enough. We didn't want to leave 😀

fantastisch authentieke cottage met 'n mooi verhaal! Prachtige omgeving, ligt mooi centraal in van alles te bekijken. Clare is ontzettend aardig en hulpvaardig. We hebben genoten!

It's a home from home. Mary really provided everything you would need for a family stay. We loved the location.

Un cottage très confortable dans un environnement exceptionnel. Si vous aimez les grands espaces sauvages et le confort, ce gîte est pour vous ! La baie de Portacloy est superbe. Les moutons autour de la maison ajoutent une note de quietude et de paix. Je recommande vivement !

This is a lovely little sun trap of a house with the most magnificent views out to the surrounding farms and water. We would happily stay here again in Winter months. Tip: Pack a picnic lunch and take a trip across in the car ferry to the Arranmore Island - it is magnificent. On the way back home have a drink in the Patrick Jonny Sally's Pub in Dungloe. (69 Main Street, Dungloe, Co. Donegal.) Make sure you visit Leo's Tavern, home of Clanned/Enya and amazing music. It's a 20 minute drive from the house. Had a fantastic stay with my wife and two kids. Beautiful views of the sea and the backside of Slieve League from the deck. Very clean and comfortable cottage. Hosts were very friendly and live right next door. Kilcar is down the street and has a gas station and convenience store. If you're looking to stay near Donegal with amazing views, this is the place!

Excellent location for a relaxing stay. View of the straits between main Island and Achill with a mountain backdrop. Newly renovated and everything is clean and beautiful. A kitchen where we can cook a simple meal and the bed is so comfortable. Nice rain shower in the bathroom. Parking is by the side gate and not too far to the cottage. Ciaran & Mary Ellen are friendly and hospitable hosts. Love to stay there again and hopefully soon.

Such a cute, clean place to stay with an excellent view. Host was very responsive and we loved the donkeys!!

This lovely cottage is perfect for a couple. With its spacious rooms, comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen, generous bathroom and comfortable couch, it had everything we needed to have a relaxing and comfortable stay. The decor is pleasant and uncluttered and everything was very clean. The warm weather meant that we didn’t need to use the fire that was set and ready to light, with a basket of turf nearby, but it was a nice country touch. The warmth of the morning and evening sun meant we were able to sit out the front and back on the outdoor chairs enjoying reading and listening to the birdsong, scanning the rural views and noticing the occasional farm vehicle going past on the road. The parking is private and spacious, to the rear of the property and close to the back door for easy access. Marie was in regular contact while also respecting our privacy. She called in one evening to say hi and she was lovely to talk to. This is one of the very best Airbnb experiences I’ve had

I can’t say enough about how wonderful our week long stay was. Both Mary and her husband were congenial and informative and answered all our questions. Mary’s knowledge of Donegal made our sightseeing so much better. We were able to visit beautiful and interesting spots along with places to stop and eat on her recommendation. We could not have asked for a better welcome, fresh baked soda bread with butter and raspberry jam was exactly what we needed when we arrived. I would recommend this lovely house for anyone. This cottage was very cozy and made us feel like we were at home. The host was super friendly and responsive. Not to mention the view was spectacular the mountains really captured how beautuful it was. Of course the cottage was so clean and it was provided with all the ammenities listed in the description. We would love to come back and visit again it was so modern and just amazing overall!!
