Family-friendly holiday rentals in Skorradalshreppur

We had a 2-night stay and really appreciated there wasn’t a longer minimum, like with most others on Airbnb. The small, individual bedrooms were a really nice feature so our teenagers could have their privacy. The only downside was that the kitchen was pretty sparsely equipped—only the most basic utensils, but we were able to make do. The hot tub was lovely and the washer in the shed area was appreciated at the end our 10-day Iceland vacation.

Erla's place is beautiful, quiet and and an amazing getaway from everything. The home gives the sort of warm and cozy vibes you see only in sappy romance movies and home decor magazines. Everything was spotless, and we did not have a single complaint about the stay. Would definitely book again.

We had such a great time, the cabin exceeded expectations in every way! Lilja was very responsive and helpful for any questions we had. The most beautiful surroundings and so peaceful! We enjoyed the hot tub, dart board and pool table. We even got to see the auroras on 2 separate nights which was a real highlight! The kitchen is small with a small over, this didn’t matter for us but could be useful to know if you were not planning to go out much. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this cabin!!

We stayed in places all over Iceland, but this was my favorite spot because of all of the windows that allowed us to watch the sunset. The rooms had great blackout curtains, so that wasn't a problem. We had hoped to visit the local pool, but we arrived late enough after a day of sight seeing that the hot tub was a great substitute. I was a little nervous that we might have trouble getting through the security gate or finding the place, but the instructions were so thorough. We truly enjoyed our stay, I just wish we could have spend more time here!

Fabulous place with breath-taking views of the mountains, short stroll to a peaceful lake, soothing mineral water in the hot tub, and a well-stocked kitchen. We loved our time here and wish we could have stayed longer. Perfect for a 2 or 3 family visit, with toys and books for kids. A great home base for exploring Iceland. Ragnhildur and Astridur are gracious hosts.

This is a country inn connected with the restaurant of the innkeeper. The rooms are spacious, bright, clean and tidy, with kitchen facilities and bathroom items fully equipped. The inn has a large hot tub, and there is also a sauna room next to it, both of which can be used free of charge. After taking a sauna, soak in the open-air hot tub while looking at the blue sky, which is extremely pleasant. The restaurant of the inn provides delicious fish and fish soup, as well as small portions of children's meals. The inn is near the vast farm, to the west are the beach and the sea, and to the east is the beautiful fjord. Sitting on the picnic chair beside the farm and looking at the distant mountains, the river at the foot and the boundless pasture, I feel that this is the meaning of life.

This was one of the highlights of our Iceland trip - natural beauty and peaceful setting combined with luxury amenities. Super responsive host and every consideration made for our convenience and best experience. Top notch host and vacation home. Thank you, Heidrun and family!

Peaceful, great host We loved the strolls on grass paths by the lake , hot tub looking at snowy mountain caps .. I recommend for people who like to digest their destinations, not drive through them ..

We booked the place for our montage. As always, booking was easy and straightforward. Excellent, clean space as shown in the pictures. We were very satisfied again and would book the Airbnb again anytime! 5 out of 5 stars!

The scenery was amazing. It was wonderful to hang out on the porch, though admittedly a bit chilly in early October. The cabin was very cute, well laid out, clean, and with many small touches that made it wonderful. Only downside was that the hot water does have a strong sulfur smell and the kitchen sink is shallow resulting in water often spraying out of the sink due to the high water pressure. Aside from those two minor issues that place was perfect solitude. One other item to mention is that the nearby waterfall trail was very worthwhile. You park in the nearby small neighborhood and walk up an ATV trail. It was amazing to be the only people around the waterfall and to be able to hike further up the mountains.

Such a beautiful place tucked in the mountains. We were not expecting the physical beauty that surrounded us. Perfect size for a damily of 5. Would definitely recommend if you want to be outside of the city. About a 45 minute drive to downtown Rekyjavic.

Gugga’s farm cabin was the perfect final stop before our flight from Iceland! 🌾 It offered a peaceful, countryside atmosphere where we could rest and reflect on our trip. The cabin was warm, clean, and charming — a true Icelandic experience surrounded by nature and farm animals 🐑🌿 Gugga was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful. Her communication was smooth, and she made sure we were comfortable. The quiet setting helped us relax before traveling again, and the location was convenient for reaching the airport the next morning. Highly recommended for anyone ending their Icelandic adventure with peace and comfort! ✨🇮🇸

Stayed in the ground floor of a 2 level villa. Although it is not new, or quite old fashioned, but it is not run down. Beds are of Icelandic standard and comfortable. The only thing that can improve is the barely useful window shades when there is almost no night time. Eye mask is a must. Can’t complain at this price.

We loved Rebecca’s place - really warm and welcoming as soon as you step inside and the views are amazing. It was snowing when we arrived and it snowed heavily overnight, so we were glad of our wee 4x4 with its snow tyres, when we eventually ventured out for food and provisions. The road to the cottage is very challenging in the snow and ice. The cottage itself is well equipped and very comfortable - we both slept really well. All in all, we highly recommend Rebecca’s place - we spent a lot more time there than we do in most airbnbs due to the weather - it’s a lovely place to relax.

We had a wonderful stay here! The view is so beautiful - we loved walking along the beach and taking in the views. Watching the seal in the water, the birds and all of the little sea creatures at low tide was a treat. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and was well-stocked. The beds were comfortable as well. We loved relaxing in the hot pot in the evenings while enjoying the view and listening to the birds! The area is amazingly beautiful. We loved to drive around the fjord - and even spotted a whale 2 different times! The hosts are very friendly and easy to communicate with. They were very responsive and helpful with the couple of questions that we had. I highly recommend staying here!

This was a perfect jump off point for exploring the area! Short drive in every direction for hikes and attractions. Sleepy little town with amazing views right out front. Loa was wonderful with recommendations and information. The home was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Very nice little cozy cottage. Perfectly clean, we loved our one-night stay in this quiet and peaceful place in front of the sea… it was one of our favorite accommodations.
