Cottage holiday rentals in Skeleton Lake

This is a beautiful place to stay, right on the lake with an amazing view, and a friendly beaver right next door! Our highlights were the hot tub, the fire pit and kayaking on the lake. This spot would be amazing in the Summer. The house is clean and well set up, the 2 downstairs bedrooms are small but just fine for sleeping. There is plenty of room in the rest of the house.

We were 4 adults, 1 child and 1 toddler. Sarah's cottage is perfectly located - it faces the lake, which is huge, boats, life jackets, etc. are provided and the host is extremely clear in their communication. There was an unexpected issue which came up and which couldn't be rectified till after our booking ended, but I was made aware of it in advance of my trip and Sarah was very transparent in her communication, which I appreciate a lot. The cottage was just a 10 min drive from the main highway, and 15 min drive from the nearest convenience store, so it wasn't that bad. The lake was pristine with some fish in it too, and on days when it was not windy, the water was quite clear too. To top it all, the bright orange ball during sunset won our hearts. We had a great relaxing time and would recommend this to anyone looking for a perfect getaway, just about 2 hours away from GTA.

Great cozy cottage with a private lake entrance. Miles was a great host. Hot tub & sauna were very enjoyable and overall the place was great.

This place was beautiful and right on the water. We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed it. We had enough kayaks to have fun in the water. The location was very private and peaceful.

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Kathy’s Cottage. The place is beautifully nestled in nature, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life. The cottage is well-maintained and exudes a charming, antique feel that adds to its cozy ambiance. Chorong was a great host! Leading up to our stay she was extremely responsive as I had a lot of questions! The house itself was stunning. Clearly it is taken care of and maintained very well. All of the beds were so comfortable. Outdoor area was a lovely space. Would definitely like to come back in the winter as I am sure the scenery is beautiful.

My friends and I had a wonderful weekend at this cottage. The lakefront property is beautiful, clean, and our favourite part was watching the gorgeous sunsets that could been seen from the terrace as well as from inside. Jesse was easy to reach and made sure that everything ran smoothly and that we were having a good stay.

We had an incredible stay. The place was peaceful and relaxing, surrounded by beautiful nature. Exactly what we needed for a family escape.! The cottage was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights was definitely the water access. We absolutely loved kayaking and spending time by the lake. Wonderful time for both kids and adult. Evenings by the firepit were magical as well. The host was responsive. Highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly getaway with great water activities. We can’t wait to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Muskoka Cabana. The location is stunning, right at the water's edge with beautiful, peaceful views of the lake. The outside deck is amazing and really spacious. We did feel that the access was a bit tricky, but I guess the location compensated for that. The cabana itself is really tastefully done, with beautiful homey touches and the kitchen was well equipped. Overall, this was a great stay.

Host allowed us to check in early way ahead of usual check in time which was great. Had an extra full day to enjoy the cabin right by the lake with private beach access and lots of gear provided by the host (Kajak, Kanu, Boat etc.). Cozy little campsite with fire pit and chairs. Great view of the lake and fall colours. Very quiet despite neighbours to the right and left. Vast selection of DVDs for movie night. Short car trip to supermarkets in Huntsville. Had a great time and would definitely recommend it. Easily accommodates 4 adults.

Lovely place and lovely hosts - across from a river and a park, impeccably clean, very comfortable, and some of the best and most welcoming communication ever. Huntsville is a dreamy place with lots of walking trails and restaurants. It was a beautiful late spring getaway.

Tuckaway Cottage is as described and shown in the photos. The place is bright and nicely furnished. Everything is provided to make meals. The shower works well. Visiting in early November, we made good use of the electric fireplace. We also enjoyed paddling one of the canoes. The location is excellent. Tucked away from modern distractions, it is a quiet sanctuary. Hiking trails, lakes, rivers and waterfalls are all within walking distance.

Walker’s Haven is an absolute stunner!!! We came up for a girls weekend and fell in love with it instantly. The interior is gorgeous, just like the photos show, and so cozy while being spacious at the same time. But our favourite feature was the outdoor space The location of the fire pit with its string lights, the second deck by the water, the spacious dock… the whole layout is perfect. The lake is gorgeous, clear and just so peaceful. Also great for fishing! We had a great time, despite not having the best weather, and we hope to come back again! Spent Thanksgiving 2024 at Hamza's cottage, it was wonderful, quiet and beautiful, view of the lake from every windows. Hoping to rent again for Thanksgiving 2025. This place is a cottage not a house and you feel surrounded by nature. Having a box stove to use was fabulous. The cottage is cozy, kitchen was well equipped, did a 22lbs Turkey without issues. Large fridge to store food. It was great to have unlimited water supply. Having the bedrooms on a different level and a toddler help for nap time. The dock had plenty of seating and deck as well. Went for lots of walks. Totally recommend this cottage.

we had a great time at Jessica cottage , the cottage was very clean and had everything. it was very peaceful and quiet that's what we wanted, kids enjoyed the beach and kayaking. we are already planning to come again next summer.

The cottage was very cozy and clean. The view from the dock is really pretty around this time cause of the autumn trees. The hosts answered all my questions and they were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

I visited the A-frame with three of my girlfriends and it was the perfect burnout escape. One of my friends was working remotely while we were there and, when we briefly lost Internet, Amanda was so responsive and helpful. My friends really wanted me to add here how much they appreciated the welcome wine that was left for us. Everything was absolutely perfect, we don't have a single suggestion. My girlfriends and I returned to our busy lives totally refreshed. We would recommend this place (and any other place that Amanda manages because she was just lovely) 1000% and we will be returning!

What a beautiful waterfront cottage! Navid has been very responsive and accommodating of every requests and the cottage was very clean and organized. The view was amazing and had everything you need!

Just got home from Port Sydney Cottage’s after staying there for my nieces wedding. I truly can’t say enough about how amazing the hosts were. They were very accommodating and very nice people. The house itself is absolutely stunning, had a hard time getting my daughter to leave. Unfortunately because we were so busy with my nieces wedding that we didn’t really get to use some of the amazing amenities. There was certainly enough to find to do. I do want to say that no one delivers out there so make sure you have the food you need if you don’t want to drive to get food. We had a great time!!!

We really loved our time here! It’s such a cute little get away spot. Very peaceful. The host was so nice and communicative. We had all the cooking utensils we needed. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet peaceful retreat.
