Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in Sikkim

Very cooperative and lovely Host. Good Homemade Food. Simplicity. Peace. The only issue is connectivity from MG Road.

The Shire is an absolutely beautiful place to stay - the house and gardens are immaculate and Karma and his family are so welcoming! They really make you feel at home. There is a great view over Gangtok - the house is peaceful yet still very close by to the main centre of Gangtok. The freshly prepared local food that Karma's family cook in the restaurant was so tasty - my favourite food from my whole time in India! Spending some quality time with the family dog (outdoors) was also great, since I'd been very homesick from my own - he was very friendly and a delight to play with :) If you are travelling to Sikkim and don't hold an Indian passport please be aware that you need a special permit to cross the border - I was unaware of this and we were kept at the Border for a substantial time on the way there whilst this was sorted out - take plenty copies of your passport and visa and also several spare passport photos and you'll be able to obtain a permit to cross the border (extra permits also needed for visiting places further North in Sikkim). Also note that from here, the Himalayas can only be viewed on a clear day and if you get up early around 5am! Thanks for everything Karma and good luck with the Orchids!

Fantastic location, lovely homemade food, beautiful people.

Ayush is a very good person and host, he made us feel at home and his family took care of us. He made sikkim trip easy for us by telling us the best places to visit and arranged a driver as well. Although since the place is on the main highway you might hear some noises of vehicles but if you're from cities it won't bother you that much anyways it gets quite after 8PM.

Raman’s place is a great place to stay overall. Walking distance to MG Marg and all happening places, beautiful cafe with tasty food and a cosy bookstore. There are multiple rooms with varying sizes. Our room was a bit on the smaller side, but was cosy. Room will be cleaned after couple days of stay.

It was one of our best decisions to stay with Karma and his family. His home is cozy and tastefully done with lots of greenary. He was very helpful in arranging things for us and made us feel right at home. Because we were travelling on the day of election, he ensured we reached his place safe and sound. It felt like we were visiting a friend's house. The property is also a 10 min walk from MG Marg. The food served here is organic and delicious. We had all our dinners and breakfast here. We absolutely enjoyed our conversations with Karma and our stay here. Thank you Karma for giving us such warm memories!

"Our 2-night stay at Ridge View Residency in Gangtok (April 2025) was comfortable and convenient. The location is excellent, with a 10-minute walk to MG Road, offering plenty of dining options. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and caretaker Ranjeet was particularly helpful and humble. The property has an apartment-like feel, which suited us well. We chose to explore the many dining options on MG Road, but the stay itself was pleasant. Overall, a good choice for those looking for a comfortable stay in Gangtok."

My first visit to Sikkim was made memorable by Shivani and her parents. From the time of booking, until checkout, Shivani was extremely responsive. They are kind, generous, always helpful, and very accommodative, which made me feel at home. I got a room with balcony, which was comfortable for one person. The kitchen was well-equipped and bathroom was clean. Shivani also very helpfully shared Sharuk’s contact. He owns a taxi, lives close by and is very reliable - do consider taking his services if you need to get around Gangtok. Can’t end the review without mentioning a special mention to the best homemade Sikkimese meal, cooked and lovingly served by her parents!

What more i need to say about michelle. She is a lovely lady and a responsive host. She called us n number of times knowing our whereabouts and make sure that we landed safely. Property is very beautiful and the breakfast served is toothsome. Highly recommend this stay and thanks michelle for your great hospitality

D place was a nice peaceful abode some 700m uphill from MGmarg, well cleaned rooms and host Mr Prabhat is a very kind and communicative person to have, helps you with shopping and eateries r Reviews. I had a big headache on the last day when my phone got trapped somewhere and he helped me get it back without any damage, it was so very helpful. Overall 10/10.
