Like a home on a golf course except up here the golf course is Royal Gorge Cross Country Ski Resort and Soda Springs downhill ski resort. Sugar Bowl and Donner Ski Ranch ski resorts are only two miles down the road. Boreal is just one exit away on highway 80. Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and North Star are all about a 20-30 minute drive away (weather dependent) For rent is the bottom unit of the duplex

A step back into history. Condo located inside of an old Historic Railroad building converted into beautiful cozy condominiums. Very close drive to Bay Area (3 hours) yet within close proximity of Reno, Truckee, and Lake Tahoe. 5 minute walk to Soda Springs Ski Resort (ski-in/ski-out)! In summer, great hiking and lakes all close by. Insanely fast wifi (400mb download, 40mb upload). Please see note about train close by and possible noise.

It's all about location, and this cabin is hard to beat. With over 105' of lakefront, the large lot and mature trees afford a bit of privacy and calm on "The Swimming Lake". Relax by the firepit, fish or catch crawdads off the dock, hop in the kayak any time of day (or night), and if your timing is right you just may be the only one on the water. Place worked well for us! Great proximity to Soda Springs Ski Resort. Only complaint is that the floor was freezing (lots of heat loss through the floor) and that the kid’s twins room had a strange sound and vibration coming from the locked closet. They slept fine though. Kitchen was well stocked! Fire heater worked well!

This was one of the best airbnbs I’ve ever been able to experience. The high ceilings and the fresh linens- comfortable beds- and stylish clean decor really made an impact and created the perfect energy for a well needed getaway. Jacuzzi was super clean and super relaxing. Every space was accommodating and well thought out. I work as a designer in home remodeling and I would give 10 stars! Thank you for everything!

Cozy Cabin Dreams | Tahoe Donner Cabin

As a family of 4, we rely on rental homes when we travel. We've endured some duds, but this place stood out as a gem - our favorite so far. Really spacious and well appointed. Great central heat meant no need to use the wood stove, which would've been tough with a toddler. Location is really close to the Donner ski areas and Truckee is about a 15 minute drive away. Lots of parking in the driveway when it snows. Tons of stuff to help make family meals (e.g. salt, garlic, oregano, tons of cooking stuff). Really clean place and the couch is incredibly comfy. A bit away from a proper grocery store, but there are general stores nearby for basics forgotten at home. The pizza place nearby was great for takeout the night of our arrival to get food on the table quickly after some travel delays (it closes at 8 pm and we just made it). A great home away from home. We hope to come back often next year!
