Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Selwyn District

We were a group of two couples staying for a long weekend to go to a wedding at Waipuna Estate. Jane's AirBnB was a perfect locaton for us as we were very handy to the wedding venue and also close to Tai Tapu, Halswell and Lincoln for restaurants, etc. The home was spacious and very homely and relaxing. We had everything that we needed and would recommend this as a peaceful and private place to stay.

What a hidden gem this property is! We immediately felt right at home. Beautifully appointed with all listed amenities. The beds were so comfortable and everything was super clean and tidy. Lovely and quiet and the surrounding garden is beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommended.

We spent a week at Gemma’s place while visiting for school MTB racing and I t was perfect! A clean, modern and functional home which was easy to heat on the cold nights and cool and airy on the hotter evenings. Beds were comfy, home well furnished and the kitchen had everything we needed, including a knife that cuts a tomato (the ultimate test in my book!). Gemma was easy to deal with and we had no issues at all. Gemma’s place will be on our list when we’re back in Methven.

What an incredible place to stay in Methven! The home is large and has everything you could need. We brought our infant, and Franz was so accommodating by providing us with pack-n-play, high chair, toys. Such a comfortable home with many interesting vintage items and decorations. Such great value too!

We had a great time. The house is very homey and we enjoyed exploring the garden with our daughter. Great place with big bath, open kitchen and living and well sized bedrooms.

My husband and i were on our honeymoon and felt that John's house was the perfect stay for some quiet and privacy nestled in Castle Hill. We absolutely adored our drives to and fro Castle Hill and Christchurch as the views were just fantastic. The house was super cozy. Waking up and having coffee by the balcony watching the mountains and listening to birds chirping was the perfect way to start our mornings. At night, we spent hours sitting by the fireplace. Truly a blissful experience and I highly recommend it to couples or even families who want some serenity!

A great, spacious apartment and well located. Comfortable and modern, with both air conditioning and a gas fire. We were able to get parking most of the time, and when it was full, still parked conveniently on the road outside the apartment. A small issue with the kitchen sink tap was handled quickly and efficiently. A great place to stay and we would have no hesitation in recommending or returning next time we’re over in Christchurch.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The space was immaculately clean and the beds were amazingly comfortable. The host was incredibly responsive and thoughtful. Perfect location with epic views across to Mt Hutt. Would definitely book again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

our stay was wonderful. the daily views from the windows was spectacular. The apartment is exactly as described and Devon's responsiveness to our minor questions was super prompt. The location is perfect as it is close to everything, and especially since Hagley park was right next to us. I would highly recommend this apartment for families of between 2 and 6 people. We loved our stay.

We have never stayed somewhere as incredible. We were nervous being on someone’s property but Steve is absolutely amazing. Super kind and left us to our own devices after checking in. The fireplace was absolutely worth every penny. The bed was beyond cozy (especially with the heated blanket). The luxury features really elevated the space. The bathroom floor is heated along with a heated towel rail. The shower and bath are even more stunning in person and the vibe in the backyard is phenomenal. He even has a parking space right up to your gate so parking is super simple. We will most definitely be back here! This is where we will aim to stay anytime we visit in ski season seeing as Methven is only a 30ish minute drive (a stunning drive at that). The lights also, so fancy and smooth. No glaring lights early in the morning. It allows for a nice slow start to the morning. And the back veranda also has an awning which meant that we could chill back there without the morning sun! We had a lovely mums stay at this accomodation, the host was great to deal with, we even got to check in slightly earlier than expected! The house was immaculate, it would be great in there was an iron available for use, and the two king beds were quite hard, but other than that it was a beautiful house, very warm on a very cold weekend with beautiful views!

Maree hosts a fantastic, beautiful, comfortable renovated villa home in a superb location that remains private and serene. She was a great host and I could not recommend staying here highly enough.

We enjoyed 2 lovely nights with the fire roaring that Steve had put on before we arrived. Steve is very friendly and great with communicating. The house is clean and a very peaceful location. Great to get away from the city. We highly recommend and will be back.

Big house but a bit old the wash basin in one bathroom was cracked needs replacing.

Lovely old cottage tucked away at the end of a road. Easy walk through Hagley Park to the town centre. There was everything we needed to feel at home. Very clean throughout. Particularly enjoyed the cosy lounge to chill at the end of busy days in Christchurch. Roomy bedrooms and a great kitchen too. John gave us useful tips on getting the best from our stay. Highly recommend Brockworth Cottage.

We truly recommend this accomodation. The Villa itself is simply stunning and you can feel a sense of heritage in there. From beautiful wooden wall, stained glass and classic exterior. Not only that, the home itself is very high tech with a very modern lightning and heating system. We were impressed with the facilities provided (so many toys and hot tub) and how beautiful the home was! For us it was even more beautiful than the pictures and we weee in awe when we arrived. Overall we all enjoyed our stay! Ohana is fast and friendly. The location of the home is peaceful and not too far from the CBD (around 10-15 mins drive) and quite close to Westfield Riccarton. We highly recommend this beautiful property !
