Knotty pine nearly throughout, whirlpool bathtub, granite countertop, new appliances, washer/dryer. Cookware & dinnerware provided. Outdoor gas grill (& older charcoal) and fire bowl (bring own firewood). WiFi not available & cell service is marginal. There is a queen sz bed downstairs, & a sofa bed (w/sm defect), the loft has a futon that flattens into small double bed, and there are 2 twin beds. No large, loud parties that go on into the night as there are neighbors, including the owners.

The Maynard Cabin, a Civil War era log cabin

The Maynard Log Cabin was erected by a homesteader after the civil war. We have moved and restored it and made it available for rent. It is off the grid, but it has a complete functioning kitchen, wood stove and sitting room downstairs. There are two antique beds with new mattresses upstairs. There is no electricity but the cabin is furnished with kerosene lanterns. The bathroom facilities consist of wash basins and outhouse. The cabin is surrounded by 40 acres of woods and meadows.

This was the perfect home, location and host for our large family! From check-in to check-out, Karen was incredible to work with. We had everything we needed - plenty of linens and towels, a fully well-stocked kitchen, and games/activities for all ages. The pool table and game room were a huge hit! My favorite part was the windows with the beautiful view of the Mississippi River. Not sure if Karen ordered all of the snow for us during our stay, but it created a stunning winter wonderland. Thank you!

I stayed at Adam & Danielle’s for 3 months & it was a great stay! They are both so kind & hospitable! Communicating with them was always easy. The space is just as pictured & was clean & private feeling - I appreciated the private room with a door. The heat worked great during the winter. The bathroom was great & the shower head had good pressure. The street parking is convenient & in front of the house (alternating sides of the street during winter months) which was never an issue, as their street never seemed to be packed with cars. The neighborhood felt very safe & I very seldomly heard the train nearby; never disturbed me. Overall, I would definitely stay here again, if I needed to. Adam & Danielle were always pleasant, courteous, & amiable! Thank y’all for everything! 😃
