Cabin holiday rentals in San Juan National Forest

Beautiful view of the lake. It was very peaceful. Place had lots of cups and utensils and cooking pans. Also had lots of cooking oil and butter and spices for cooking. Even had a grill to use. Hot tub was perfect. Place had no ac but like the instructions mentioned to leave a window open and it keeps the house cool. Upstairs had a fan. Also had washer and dryer which came in handy. A dog door, dog bowls and dog bed. It was dog loving cabin. Can’t wait to stay here again in the future.

Our two families with a bunch of kiddos had an amazing time here! There was tons of things for the kids to do and a nice little hot tub for the adults and a fire pit to make s’mores in. Would definitely stay again.

My husband, me and my three children truly enjoyed our stay! We tried to go to Dolores twice a year and more excited to know that we found a new place for the family to stay everything about. It is absolutely perfect we just wish we could bring our dogs 🖤 It was easy access the river was beautiful, cozy outdoor firepit ! The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and baking! The house was well stocked of anything that we needed that we may have forgotten and the host was extremely easy to contact when needed. We notice some flyers for the ranch next-door and was able to enjoy an afternoon of horseback riding one minute from the home!! The next day, we went ouray our favorite place ! Next time we’ll be sure to make a stop and Telluride again! Thank you so much for opening your beautiful home to our family we are so grateful!!! 🖤 the Anderson family !!!

We totally enjoyed our stay at Bear's Den. It is everything we usually look for in a place to stay. Beautiful location. CLEAN. Well maintained. And allowed our pups to stay with us. It was a little small for the 6 of us....but overall worked out well. The back deck was my favorite and we enjoyed eating and relaxing on the deck. The nearby lake was really fun to take a rental boat and explore. We also visited Mesa Verde and took the grandchildren on the Durango Silverton train. We would highly recommend Bear's Den. If you are looking for a true cabin in the woods —- one that feels like something from another time and also has a jetted tub and SUUUPER comfy beds this is your place. It is cozy, peaceful, and surrounded by absolute beauty. The aspens are amazing and the lake is like a 2 minute drive. We had such a wonderful time and felt right at home. I can’t recommend this cabin enough.

Description was spot on and this is definitely a place to get away and relax. Amazing opportunities for stargazing and relaxing by the fire. Also, the location makes for a convenient home base to explore Ouray, Telluride, etc. We would stay again if we were to come back to the area in the future!

This is a wonderful oasis in our busy busy world. Anne was super responsive and provided loads of good advice for area things to do. We hope to return in winter or fall as there is so much to see and do... yet could see ourselves simply relaxing in the cabin.

My husband and I had so much fun last year at Amy's place, we had to come back! We love winter activities, so if you are looking for a private little getaway to do some hiking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or XC skiing, this is the place for you! I also love that this little cabin, although remote, has all the amenities you need to be comfortable just as if you were home. I have a very demanding job which requires me to work even on vacation, so I really appreciated the fast and reliable WiFi so I could check email and stay plugged in. The furnished kitchen came with all the necessary cooking essentials and appliances to make our trip easy. All we had to bring was a cooler of food. The cabin even comes furnished with a TV, washer and dryer, so you can pack light! Amy has always done a great job communicating with us and has been so helpful keeping us apprised of the snow report leading up to our trip. This is a must-visit location! We'll be coming back!

An absolutely amazing place. I loved the privacy. I was able to take my SUP to the lake and had it mostly to myself. Place was spotless and many bedrooms which were not pictured. Nice and close to Meas Verda. The view of the lake from upstairs was breathtaking. I would love to come again.

We had a wonderful stay, the cabin is located in a really beautiful setting. Even though it was adjacent to other cabins, it felt private enough because of the way it sits on the property. The cabin is quite small but we had everything we needed. The bed is firm but we liked it. The kitchen was clean and had all necessary items, and Rene left a bowl, a dog towel, and a treat for our pup which was very sweet. We would stay again! Excellent communication from our host!

My husband and I celebrated his 70th birthday at this amazing place. Greg did a fabulous job building this beautiful get away. If you are able to navigate a circular staircase, definitely book a stay here. You will find comfort, peace and relaxation. We definitely would return several times a year if it wasn’t so far from our home. Be sure to give it a try.

The cabin was clean and cozy and well suited for two.

My family and I stayed at this cozy log home for 5 days.The place is very spacious,clean,convenient parking and the views are amazing.Although the road that leads to it includes 3 miles of unpaved section,it is well maintained and excluding the winter accessible with any type of vehicle.The host is very friendly and communicative.We really liked our stay there and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes the mountains.Thank you Kim.

We purchased this trip as a Christmas gift for my FIL. He was able to invite his brother from CA and a good friend of his from CO. (I did try to convince them to take our granddaughter, but there is a 4 person max, so it was a no go!) My husband was more of the pack mule lol. We have already decided to book a trip again for just the two of us! So I can experience it and Sean can actually enjoy the trip and fish! I am excited and cannot wait to go! As a hostess, Bethany is top tier! You will not be disappointed!!

Cabin was simply amazing! Longer drive off the main road, but nothing to be scared of. The cabin was great and just as described. The proximity to Lemon Reservoir and the Florida River was perfect. Easy 30 minute drive to downtown Durango. Beds, kitchen, bathrooms, outside patio, et all were great and just as described in the listing. Would definitely recommend and wishing we were already back there. Thank you Janet and Victoria!!

This was a very relaxing and beautiful location! We enjoyed fishing, canoeing and relaxing here. If you plan to come I would suggest you make sure to drive a 4×4 vehicle, it was a bit rough getting there but worth it! Also make sure to download the gate code before heading up, I didn't so we had to hike up to connect to wifi, and that was my fault. Again lovely, private location 🙂

This is one of the most adorable places I've ever stayed! It's super clean and well-decorated, and there are lots of complimentary drink options available. The host was very communicative and provided clear instructions. I will definitely come back to stay!
