Welcome to your historic rural oasis on the outskirts of Pioneertown. Showcased in the NY Times fashion section, the property features a rock hot tub or cool dipping pool surrounded by cactus gardens and the Sawtooth mountains. Just minutes from Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown and replete with original art by the late Gerald Zeldin, custom furniture, and a grand piano. Also close to Joshua Tree park and the amenities of Yucca Valley. The historic mining property of The Ranch of The Rising Sun was designed and restored as a completely off-grid haven by filmmakerJulian T Pinder. The Ranch of the Rising Sun, a mining base camp built in the 1920's, is the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern amenities. Off grid on a full solar system and water well, the home also provides high speed wifi, state of the art cooling and heating systems on a smart NEST thermostat, flatscreen tv with Netflix, Amazon etc, new top of the line oven / stovetop, vintage sound system with Bluetooth capabilities, keyless door entry etc. Guests have access to the entire house and property, including the wood burning stove (eucalyptus firewood is provided at all times free of cost), cowboy wood burning hot tub / cool dipping pool, grand piano, native cactus garden, fire pit, outdoor banquet dining table, hammock, alkaline drinking water, and some of the best hiking in the area right out the back door. The house and property are also right off of Pioneertown Road, with no long rough dirt roads to navigate and beat your car up on. The ranch was built and owned by Julian Pinder, who has lived in the area for years. Rent from locals, not out-of-town investors! Entire house and property, as well as endless hiking and adventuring right behind the house on thousands of acres of stunning Wildlands Conservancy land, no tourists or park fees to deal with, just old fashioned exploring! There are detailed self-check in instructions. Tyler, my friend and property manager lives nearby and I'm 5 miles away at my other ranch. We respect your privacy 100% but if you need any advice, help, or have any questions we are always available by text or phone 24 hours a day. Pioneertown was built in the late 40's as a functioning movie set by Roy Rogers and the Sons of Pioneers; hundreds of Westerns have been shot here. Catch live music at Pappy and Harriets, minutes away, and go hiking and horseriding out the back door. Unfortunately you'll need a vehicle out here, it's rural! *There's a very strict maximum of 4 guests in the house as the solar and septic system cannot handle any more than that.

MA-SA-YA Desert Ranch is an adobe-style home set in 13 stunning acres in the foothills of Joshua Tree National Park. A private and quiet space for you to pause, restore and reconnect. After boulder climbing in the park, detox in the infrared sauna, light a fire, grill on the BBQ, sink into the ceder hot tub or dipping pool, and stare up at the star-studded night sky. On cooler nights, cozy up by the fireplace, cook a delicious meal in our fully equipped kitchen and put a movie on the projector. Or make it a game night, play records and make lasting memories with your loved ones. This beautifully decorated New Mexican Style adobe home with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a wood fire fireplace, outdoor fire pit, large courtyard with fountain and a large covered patio is the perfect place to watch the time go by. Key features of the space are our stock tank dip pool and home theatre projector. Stroll the property with a coffee or glass of wine and check out the desert flora or hang out in the hammock and read a book. Our double car garage has been converted into a game room/living space. It features a two person infrared sauna. An arcade size pac-man and all the other usual suspects like Monopoly and Twister. Don't sweat the parking, there is plenty of that, including a two car concrete parking space. So close to the park you could literally walk into,however the main west entrance is a 10 minute easy drive. @jackaloperanch_joshuatree Joshua Tree is a special place with magical, quirky characters. Other than the spectacular National Park, hike the Pioneertown Mountain Preserve, have a farm-to-table lunch at La Copine, and check out live music at world-famous Pappy & Harriet's.

The home is absolutely beautiful! As my friends and I had arrived, we couldn’t believe how peaceful yet cozy the home is. It felt right at home and we were so happy to find such a beautiful stay. Everything was super clean and well thought out when planning the interior. In addition, the hosts are super warm and welcoming, responsive, and communicative! I highly recommend to anyone looking for something peaceful with very positive and welcoming hosts!

We had a wonderful time! The many extra amenities such as the theater room with the dart boards, game table and large tv made our stay very enjoyable. The beds were very comfortable and the neighborhood was peaceful and quiet. We had breakfast every morning in the sun room with a view of the mountains. Enjoyed sitting on the swings on the back porch and taking in the tranquil scenery after a day of hiking. A perfect end to every day was viewing the stars from the hot tub. We highly recommend this property for your hi-desert getaway!

One thing we noted about the home was the exceptionally comfortable beds and linens - much better than most AirBnb’s we’ve stayed at. Overall it was a great stay and we’d definitely return.

We loved staying at Kelly’s place. She is the ultimate superhost and goes above and beyond with her hospitality by providing guests with fun homemade waffle mix and readily available water jugs in the fridge. She also suggested a lot of fun hikes and activities for us to do in the area during our stay, and was very warm and responsive. She really made us feel at home here! Furthermore, we enjoyed all the amenities from the electric charger to the BBQ, fire pit, hammocks, fireplace and jacuzzi. We had such a great time relaxing here that we extended our stay by a few days. Do yourself a favor and book this place—you will love it!!!
