  • This cozy room was perfect for a one-night trip to the city. Paul was incredibly kind and accomodating, and even gave us a short, personal "tour" of the neighborhood and the room. The design and personal touches were amazing. We loved our stay and would absolutely book here again.

    Kris2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This private little apartment is in a great location with lots to do. The host could not have been friendlier, I would definitely recommend.

    Luciana2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Paul’s space was marvelous! Filled with lots of DC presidential history and beautiful antique pieces, the place was extremely cozy and pleasant. The neighborhood was lovely, as well. We went to Big Bear Cafe, a terrific local coffee and breakfast spot (get the chai tea with oat milk), and the pizza place right around the corner, which was fabulous as well. A great stay all around!!

    Megan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute spot in a great neighborhood! Paul was a fantastic host, super friendly with great info and recommendations about the area. The suite and the garden are both beautiful, definitely recommend!

  • Julian and Lucrecia have an incredible home. They provided convenience and care throughout my stay. They communicated very well and gave me a lot of good suggestions for things to do in D.C. I would highly recommend staying with them if you get the chance.

  • Lucrecia and Julian are such great hosts, and the location of their place can't be beat. I loved all the plants!

    Leah2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Julian and Lucrecia have a very warm and welcoming energy. Their lovely home is very clean, stylish, and in close proximity to various restaurants and access to the metro. They’re very helpful with suggestions of what to do in the area, and I will be coming back again to be able to check out more of their suggestions!

    Christopher2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a stylish, non-noisy and well-located space, with some intruiging stories behind its formation. Julian & Lecrecia were really easy to chat with and ideal hosts - available to deal well with my queries, yet not at all pushy. Thank you for a really good stay.

Most Beautiful Airbnb in DC according to Architectural Digest (Airbnb blocks link; you can enter into a search engine “The Most Beautiful Airbnb in Every State”) One-of-a-kind opportunity to share home in historic Georgetown. Completely remodeled, including your guest room and private bath. Full access to house, with special extras: rooftop deck, sauna, shady backyard garden. Easy access to metro. Walk to Dupont Circle, Embassy Row, and shops, restaurants and bars/nightclubs.
Four story townhouse features newly remodeled and very well equipped kitchen (with fireplace), dining room, living room with high ceilings and second fireplace. Powder room off entry and third full bathroom on top floor. Washer and dryer on entry level. Two outdoor spaces: a beautifully landscaped backyard garden with dining table and grill and a rooftop deck. Top floor features NIR sauna and yoga area. Hardwood floors throughout (except tiled entryway and baths) and lots of natural light and windows that overlook trees.
Historic Georgetown is in the northwest quadrant of Washington, DC situated along the Potomac River and Rock Creek. Much of Georgetown is surrounded by parkland and green space, such as Rock Creek Park, Dumbarton Oaks, Oak Hill Cemetery, Rose Park and Montrose Park. Walking up and down the tree lined streets of Georgetown is a delight, viewing quaint and charming homes, gardens, flower filled window boxes and brick sidewalks which have been in place for centuries, perhaps walked upon by such notables such as George Washington, JFK or Alexander Hamilton himself. Local businesses add so much additional character, like the butcher shop two blocks away that makes the best pastrami sandwiches you will ever eat. There's also a dry cleaners, a wine shop and a corner store within a stone's throw. Our favorite farmers' markets are a hop, skip and jump away and open Wednesdays at Rose Park in season and Sundays at Dupont Circle year round. The nearby Georgetown Waterfront provides additional entertainment, either wining and dining at the many hot spots with a water view along the river or actually going on the Potomac for paddle boarding or kayaking. So much to see or do throughout the neighborhood, with countless shops, restaurants and entertainment establishments within walking distance, both in Georgetown and Dupont Circle.

  • Unbelievable location. Jessica is very hospitable.

  • Great place. Only wish could stay longer and enjoy lovely house.

    Charles2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica is a great host and will look after you. She took care of me even when I arrived a day early and all the rooms were booked. Amazing. It is about a 12 minute walk to Dupont Circle metro. My room in Jessica's place was a good size, clean and comfortable. Bathroom, outside the room in the hall, was spotless with great shower. The kitchen is modern and well appointed, a great space. The rooftop terrace is a bonus and nice for star gazing or early morning meditation. However, the apartment is narrow and a bit crowded, so besides the kitchen and one rooftop visit, I stayed in my room. I will be back to stay in Jessica's place.

    Scott2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica was more than hospitable. She opens up her home and it’s like you’re home. I highly recommend to stay there

Enjoy city living in our sunny, bright 1 BR Penthouse condo. I've outfitted some of the city's best spas so our guests should expect comfort, thoughtful amenities and great service. Our condo easily sleeps 4 with room for 6. Modern decor compliments century-old brick walls and reclaimed wood accents. The luxurious bathroom includes a custom seated shower, double vanity, soft towels, hair dryer, spa-quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The Metro Subway station is 2 1/2 blocks away.
Luxurious, private, urban, ultra comfortable and absolutely beautiful. Located on lively Mt. Pleasant Street! This is an urban retreat ideal for those who want to experience the bustle of the city in a diverse, historic and artsy neighborhood. Across the street is Suns independent movie theater & the Raven dive bar. On the next block there's Each Peach Market for great food-to-go and sandwiches and Beau Thai for local hip thai food. Mount Desert Island Ice Cream is a must and it's right in the building! Just steps away from us are even more restaurants, grocery stores, and even your big chain store Target! The lively neighborhoods of Columbia Heights, Adams Morgan, and Dupont are within walking distance and the White House is about three miles down 16th Street. Walk through Rock Creek Park for a tour of the historic Pierce Mill or marvel at the opulent 25 acre Hillwood Estate - home to the most comprehensive collection of Russian imperial art outside of Russia. Traveling with kids? A playground for little ones is just around the corner or walk down the hill to the National Zoo where admission is free. Sit for story time at the newly renovated Mt Pleasant library and check out original artwork by the artist Aurelius Battaglia who later worked on Disney's Dumbo. Public transport is excellent in our neighborhood...walk to the metro (2 1/2 blocks away), hop on a bus, rent a bike through Capital Bike Share or drive around with Zip Car - all just minutes from our door. Columbia Heights metro station (green line) is only 0.3 miles away - about a 5 minute walk from the condo. Cleveland Park (red line) is a 5 min ride on the H4 bus which is minutes from our door. For those wanting to hit the White House or National Mall, walk 2 minutes and catch the S4 bus which goes down 16th Street. The White House is about a 10 minute bus ride and the Mall is another ten. We highly recommend Uber or Lyft for getting around the city, especially if you have a larger group size, since it is comparable to the cost of metro tickets. For new UBER users, use promotional code jasonh1553 to get your first ride for free. For new LYFT, users, use promotional code JASON033374. This code varies what they give you but often it is credit towards your first ride. For those driving into the city: With advanced notice, we can obtain a parking permit for you that allows you to park unrestricted in our Zone. There is a $40 fee paid in advance for this service. Alternatively there is a garage is located at the DC USA complex (@ Target, Bed n Bath) at varying rates. Please check their website. It is a quick walk from the condo.

My home is in Northeast DC, close to the Brookland metro station (red line). I have a renovated row home with a huge backyard, which you also have access to. Guests will have your own bedroom on the basement level with a queen bed, mini fridge, and private bathroom. When making an inquiry or request, please share little bit about yourself and what brings you to DC.
Brookland is kind of a retro neighborhood...lots of cute bungalows, tree-lined streets, and friendly neighbors. There's also great new restaurants and Right Proper brewery less than two blocks away. And with Catholic University nearby, you'd be walking/biking distance to the metro, cafes and bookstore. Brookland is close to Northeast's most popular destinations - Union Market and H Street corridor. I'm about a 15-minute uber or metro ride to downtown where most of the traditional DC sites & museums are located.
  • Comfortable space and all the basics you’d expect.

  • Awesome stay at Roberta's! The room is great, private bathroom, a small table and fridge. You have access to a full equiped kitchen and Roberta is very nice and helpful! Nice restaurants in the area (check out Salumeria and Menomale if you like Italian food 😁), safe neighborhood, 10min walk from the metro, about 30min from downtown with the red line, very easy to navigate. We definitely recommend this place, it's perfect!

    Charlotte2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • It's recommended. It was very clean. We had a good time there. And would take it again.

  • Really enjoyed our stay! everything was as expected with some extra touches. such a cute place, and check in/check out was super easy.

    Laura2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Roberta's home was stylish and unique. The guest quarters were neat and tidy and very clean. It was the perfect location to park and take transportation into the city. Roberta also had some great food suggestions and we were able to enjoy busboys and poet's for supper one evening.

    Whitney2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Roberta was very kind and hospitable. I appreciate that she opened her home to me and my daughter, despite our late night activity (left at 11:30pm and returned after 1am). The space was comfy and cozy, the neighborhood quiet and serene. Roberta's home was just what I needed for my whirlwind trip.

    Devon2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is definitely a must stay for anyone that just wants a night out in DC, Not only is Roberta a fabulous host, as she is quick with responses, but her house is beautiful and there are two bars about a 1-4minute walk from the place. We spent the whole day in D.C and got to go home to a suburban chic place. LOVED my stay.

  • Jessica’s is an amazing host, the place is sparkling clean . We were able to walk everywhere! That is a keeper!

    Fabiana2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, beautiful room exactly what we needed for a long weekend. Jessica’s home is gorgeous and she is so helpful!

    Mary2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is the first time I have opted to stay at the same Airbnb twice and it was even more homey and relaxing than the first time. Jessica is very thoughtful and communicative. I accidentally left a bunch of stuff behind last time and she safeguarded it for me until I returned. While I wouldn’t encourage that, it’s a testament to her super host qualities.

    Di2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica is a responsive host and generously shares her beautiful, stylish home and tips for restaurants, etc. The room I stayed in was very clean. It has great lighting, is uncluttered and feels serene. I especially appreciated having a small desk for my laptop. The ensuite bathroom was also very clean, and the shower works well. While other parts of the house are messier than in the pictures, the room itself offers a welcoming retreat after a busy day in the city.

    Christina2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica is running what amounts to a boutique hotel, and she does it very well with professionalism, dedication and attention to detail! I won't spoil the surprises in her little touches that take the AirBNB experience to the next level, I will only highly recommend her as your host in DC...

    Georgios2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica's house is amazing. It is in a wonderful neighborhood in Georgetown but also close to Foggy Bottom and Dupont. The room I stayed in is exceptionally clean with a nice writing desk, good lighting, very nicely decorated, wonderful shower with heated bathroom floors and a very comfortable bed! Jessica gives you acess to a lovely rooftop deck, and a lovely back yard. I had several very nice conversations with her and she couldn't be more helpful with suggestions on what to see or do, or where to eat! Jessica may have another guest staying with her, and it is her own house. So you have to be comfortable sharing :) I will definitely stay here again

    Toby2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

The most convenient studio apartment in DC. Located so close to Union station 600 square feet, a front patio and rear patio, full kitchen, washer and dryer, bathroom all located two blocks to two supermarkets, a drugstore and numerous coffee shops and restaurants. Easily catch the Metro from Union Station 5 blocks away, ride the DC Streetcar up and down historic H Street, or take an Uber or Lyft a few blocks to anywhere in town!
This space is perfect for individuals on work travel or for couples vacationing. It's not a large space but has plenty of room to be comfortable and stretch out. There are pots, pans, glassware, plates and bowls, flatware for anyone that likes to cook. There is also a full washer and dryer in the unit to freshen up your laundry. It would be a tight squeeze for three guests, but is doable with one person sleeping on the couch. There is a patio in the front and in the rear of the home the guests are welcome to use, including a chimenea (fire pit) for a nominal extra firewood charge. We will get pictures of the outside space posted shortly. Pets are allowed on a case by case basis, so please ask!
Stop by Bullfrog Bagels in the morning for a bagel or bagel sandwich and great coffee. Union Market is great for lunch, oysters and wine, and general people watching and noshing. The Big Board (right next door) has some of the best burgers in town and plays sporting events, Boundary Road across the street is a bit classier without the TVs. The US Capitol, Supreme Court and Library of Congress buildings are a quick 8-9 block walk through a historic neighborhood. Metro access at Union Station can get you across town in minutes.
  • Convenient location in a cool neighborhood near Union Station with grocery stores, restaurants and yoga shops within a block. The free streetcar to Union Station stops just around the corner.

  • Graham’s place was the perfect place to stay in DC! The space was comfortable, clean and in such a convenient location. Graham is a very thoughtful host- we look forward to staying in this spot again when we come back to visit!

    Carleigh2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Graham was very responsive if we ever needed anything and it was neat to stay in a residential area of DC. If you are planning on visiting all of the museums and monuments, you’ll probably want/need a tour bus ticket and few Uber rides.

    Shelby2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little place to stay close to the metro and less than a mile from the national Mall. Plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby too. The apartment has a nice complement of amenities and was very comfortable.

    Dack2020-02-29T00:00:00Z

    Heidi2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for two nights - awesome place! The location could not be better - so close to bars, restaurants, and lots of workout studios like Orange Theory, hot yoga, solidcore, etc. Really nice touches such as the coffee machine, hair dryer/curling iron provided, and a couple cold local beers in the fridge :)

    Nicole2020-02-10T00:00:00Z

  • Clean and roomy!

    Patrick2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The room that I rented was as I expected, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen includes all things you need for cooking. You can get to DC downtown easily using only one metro or one bus. Also, there is a mall which is not far from this location: Silver Spring downtown mall where you find many things: shops, coffees, restaurants, etc. Really, I recommend this good location.

  • Diane is very welcoming, and is used to long term guests. She is personable and quick to respond. This home is extremely clean and Diane always took care of any issues that came up. I highly recommend this place for those looking for an extended stay.

    Benjamin2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Diane's place is great! She's really nice and knows a lot about the area. The neighborhood is quiet. The area has several affordable restaurants and coffee shops. It's not too far from the Takoma Metro station and doesnt take long to get to other parts of DC.

    Monisha2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Diane's place was perfect for what I needed. I was there for the entire summer for an internship. There was plenty of space for all my clothes and belongings, and space for me to have enough food to cook three meals a day. Because of similar schedule's, Diane was very understanding of my comings and goings, and made living there while working easy. The metro is a 10-15 walk down a road (with sidewalks) so it was a perfect way to start and end my day. The neighborhood itself was so cute and safe; there are great restaurants (a couple of which that have great bars) and the farmer's market on Sunday has a great variety and great prices. I would definitely stay here again!

    Jenette2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for a good price. Stayed for a month and really enjoyed it.

    Mark2017-02-09T00:00:00Z

    Brady2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa was a fantastic host. Kept me up to date in days leading up to my stay. Very communicative. Room was very clean and perfect for an over night stay in the the city.

    Megan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Superb house in a very quiet area. The metro is barely 20 minutes on foot and super convenient for reaching the city center. Melissa is very available and responsive

    Laura2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa is a wonderful hostess. Her place is comfortable, attractive, peaceful and very clean. She was warm and friendly, welcoming me into her home and getting to know me a little without being pushy and was respectful of my privacy. What made the biggest impact was her helpful information about how to get around. I was in DC as a tourist and didn’t have a car. Not only did Melissa provide walking/bus/metro/local interests in information in her welcome guide, she went out of her way to tell me about riding the bus instead of walking to the metro in the rain and changes to the metro routes when I was still at the house and she knew I’d be heading out. If you stay with her and walk from the Metro station, FOLLOW HER DIRECTIONS instead of using a GPS. They sound complicated but I promise they are not once you’re there seeing everything. Her way is so much shorter!!!

    Becky2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Good value, comfortable bed, shared bath, very clean. Best if you have a car to get places.

    Dan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what it says in the description, Melissa was a great host! I highly recommend.

    Casey2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa is so sweet and inviting! The neighborhood is safe and not a bad location. There’s a personal heater in the bedroom which is absolutely fantastic. Overall, I would recommend Melissa’s place. It’s homey and perfect for a night or two in DC.

  • It was my first time staying in a basement but i have to say it was lot better than i expected. Alexandra and her partner are super nice and very communicative. The room is very private, the kitchen is small but alexandra told me they’re working on expanding it and putting a large fridge with a desk which would make the place more perfect than it already is. The neighborhood is nice and safe and its a 16-20 min walk to the AIRP. Also close to public transportation. Would definitely go back. Thank you alexandra!

  • I suggested to the host that she should change her listing title to "Pristine White Basement". Cozy, classy, comfortable, clean and most importantly safe. I was impressed that she checked my ID. I simply made a new friend in Silver Spring , definitely be back and I recommend her place 200%.💜

  • Good lodging in a convenient location at a fair price.

    James2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cute house, we had no troubles but maybe not best for those who are very tall since the ceiling is low. Other than that, it was very private and about a 20 minute walk to the Fillmore, which was great.

    Trinidy2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This little apartment was perfect. Clean as a whistle and elegantly styled. The bed was very comfortable after a long couple days of walking around in DC and Takoma Park. Just the right distance from the Metro. I can't recommend it highly enough.

    Michael2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer recommended alot of great locations to go to, the spot was very clean and it was a great location to everything. I'd would definitely stay over there again!!

    Aaron2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's apartment was the perfect place for a quick stay in Takoma Park. It was walkable to the old town Takoma Park shopping and restaurant scene, and was in a very quiet neighborhood. The apartment was very clean and modern. I very much enjoyed my stay and plan to come back! Check in and check out were easy and Jennifer was very responsive.

    Emily2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay for work (about a 10 min walk to the Takoma metro), and would be an ideal place to put up visiting family if you lived in the area. The kitchen is well stocked, and the windows overlook a nice leafy green yard. Comfortable bed, and spotlessly clean.

    Sarah2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect "tucked away" gem, peacefully settled in the middle of the unique "urban residential" neighborhood of Takoma Park. This very private apartment is located in a peaceful setting (complete with great bird-watching out the back windows); and is walking distance to transportation in to D.C., neighborhood parks (one little community playground just out the front door)! and just a few steps in from the iconic Takoma Park downtown with fresh/organic "co-op" shopping, bakeries and coffee shops, a weekend farmer's market, family-friendly restaurants, lively bistros, and unique local merchants. The apartment is fresh and bright, with everything you need for a care-free time away, or a sanctuary to return to if you're in town for business and just want to get "home" for rest and quiet until off to work the next day! Jennifer is a welcoming and accommodating host, and she makes herself available to you for anything you need or prefer. We loved our time here!

    Barbara2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here for a few nights in November. The space was perfect for us! Bed and linens were super comfortable. Lock box made it very easy to check in. Located in a quiet walkable neighborhood with many trails and parks. We even had a deer in our backyard one morning! We also enjoyed the downtown area with local shops and quaint restaurants - We hope to stay there again soon!

    Sharon2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay! Also the little things Laura did for us such as earplugs and the poncho's (unfortunately needed the poncho's). We didnt need the earplugs, it was quiet. Would definitely recommend Lauras stay.

The apartment was clean and in a great location very close to the Takoma metro stop. 15-20 minute uber to most locations in downtown DC. I would definitely stay here again.

  • The location is definitely a big plus for those wanting to stay out of the busy spots downtown but close enough. The host included many thoughtful touches... and while checking in to make sure all was kosher, still made sure to respect my privacy the whole weekend. Not only would I recommend strangers to stay here but I’d also recommend relatives and friends to check this place out as well!

  • Thank you for hosting my trip to DC! The location is very nice and quiet, the studio looked exactly like the pictures, and Theresa is very friendly! I felt very safe sleeping there I loved how stylish the place was, and it was very cozy. Being that it was cold there were heaters available for use, and there are toiletries available for use in case you forget to bring any for yourself. I would definitely recommend having Theresa as a host!

    Shalayna2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • A lot of thought went into the decor of the place. A lovely theme of white and turquoise fills the apartment with unmatched warmth and style. Highly recommended.

    Frank2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Theresa’s place was a great spot for me and my boyfriend to spend the night while visiting D.C.! It’s located really close to a metro station which made it easy to go downtown. The place was chilly (it was pretty cold outside that day), but there was a space heater provided which helped a lot! Overall it was a nice, cozy space perfect for our weekend trip.

    Danielle2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was super cute and clean! It was in a good location just a short Uber ride to the museums. Theresa answered all my questions very quickly and it was a great place to stay!

  • This was a great place to stay, offering proximity to the Takoma metro station but enough quiet refuge outside of DC city proper. Loved the charm and character of the original built-in cabinets and drawers throughout the space. Very friendly and responsive host.

    Jason2020-02-17T00:00:00Z

    Lauren2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Martin’s apartment fully suited our needs while on leave in MD. All the household items and amenities were readily available. The furnishings are nice, some even unique and the Monet and VanGogh replicas were a great touch. The location couldn’t be better, the street is quiet but the metro is right across the road with shopping and dining a quick 8-10 minute walk away. If you’re stay falls during a Sunday check out the Takoma Park Farmers Market. The community and residents seem genuinely nice. Definitely recommend!

My private suite boasts a unique location - a short walk from the Takoma Metro station; a quick ride (by bike, Metro, car, bus, Uber or Lyft) to downtown DC or burgeoning Silver Spring. My place features a separate entrance, free parking, and is just steps away from many restaurants/cafes/eateries and local shops. The space is good for couples, travelers of all kinds, and, with space for four people to sleep, families.
Newly renovated, clean and modern look, fresh furniture and amenities, very private and comfortable. Bright tiled bathroom, queen bed, and full size sleep sofa. Cable TV, mini fridge, small microwave, and electric kettle. Separate, private entrance, come and go as you please. Complimentary coffee, tea, cocoa, light breakfast, and snacks are provided. Additionally, our community has many restaurants, shops, cafes and takeaways that are literally steps away. Please note - we are a family of four and live directly above the space. We tread softly and keep our voices down but you may hear us occasionally and vice versa. Another note: The bed height is 15"
Takoma Park is a very vibrant community featuring more than 20 restaurants and cafes as well as a variety of retailers. The neighborhood straddles the border of Montgomery County, Maryland, where it is called Takoma Park, and the District of Columbia, where it is called Takoma.
  • This airbnb is in a perfect location- walking distance to cafes and stores as well as a food co-op and CVS. It's also walking distance to the Metro so it is easy to get downtown. I highly recommend this airbnb.

    Judith2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, Debra’s place has to be the cleanest AirBnB I’ve ever been in. I can honestly say it’s the most accurate as well regarding everything mentioned in the listing. Debra had a solution to every slight issue, such as parking which was perfect. The area itself quiet and like she has laid out, there are plenty of places to explore in the area. Hope to return to the area soon as I don’t live far. The basement suite is modern with older touches that work perfectly together in my opinion. Also, the labels on everything help! 5/5 Stars Easy!

    Michael2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific location and host :)

    Kim2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely enjoyed this space. The location is excellent. I stocked up on snacks at a nearby organic food market, but Debra also has a variety of snacks and coffee on hand. The place was extremely clean, well equipped, and warm for chilly nights. The location absolutely cannot be beat. Communication with the host was great and check-in/check-out was easy. Parking was also easy and safe. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

  • Lovely. What a great stay. It was so comfortable and I would definitely stay again. Also the convenience to the Metro was great. A trip to DC for a museum was so easy and quick. Another day walking around historic Takoma Park was very enjoyable. I was amazed how quiet the area was and this light filled ground level apt facing very large backyards felt so very rural which I found remarkable in such a densely populated part of the USA. Martin the host was kind and friendly. I couldn't have asked for anything more. It was a perfect stay for me.

    Denny2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Martin's studio apartment is spacious and stylish---with a full, luxe kitchen; very comfortable bed; great sofa and armchair for lounging; and plenty of table-top space for separate working and dining. Spotlessly clean, safe, and private. Such an easy walk to the Takoma Metro and buses, as well as to the shops and restaurants along the main street, including nearby CVS drugstore and Starbucks. The historic neighborhood, with its tree-lined streets and grand homes, is delightful for strolling. Martin is a friendly, considerate host, with great communication and responsiveness. I'll most definitely stay here again. Five stars in all categories!

  • The description and pictures for Martin's ground floor apartment shown in the Airbnb listing doesn't really do it justice. There are some quirky but very nice touches in the apartment. It is spotless and has a nice homely feel to it. The surrounding area is very pleasant and is really quiet. Martin is a great host too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone and if we get the opportunity to return to the area this would be my first choice for somewhere to stay.

Takoma Park is a city in Montgomery County, Maryland. It is a suburb of Washington, D.C., and part of the Washington metropolitan area. Founded in 1883 and incorporated in 1890, Takoma Park, informally called "Azalea City," is a Tree City USA and a nuclear-free zone. A planned commuter suburb, it is situated along the Metropolitan Branch of the historic Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, just northeast of Washington, D.C., and it borders the neighborhood of Takoma, Washington, D.C. History 19th century Takoma Park was founded by Benjamin Franklin Gilbert in 1883.[7] It was one of the first planned Victorian commuter suburbs, [8] centered on the B&O railroad station in Takoma, D.C., and bore aspects of a spa and trolley park. Takoma was originally the name of Mount Rainier, from Lushootseed [təqʷúbəʔ] (earlier *təqʷúməʔ), 'snow-covered mountain'.[9] In response to a wish of Gilbert, the name Takoma was chosen in 1883 by DC resident Ida Summy, who believed it to mean 'high up' or 'near heaven'. Source Wikipedia Takoma Park is a historic, progressive, diverse and green community adjacent to Washington DC. • Very clean, convenient, cozy! Thomas was great with written directions and photos for check in . We arrived after dark but the area was well lit and easily accessible. We will definitely think of this place again.

  • This was my second stay at Thomas’s. First time in the studio apartment. Loved it. Couldn’t have been better. I’ll be back soon.

  • Thomas's space was well thought-out, clean, and cozy. He was super responsive to the one minor issue we had with WiFi and reset the router to help us out immediately. If you are in the area and looking for a space I'd recommend this place.

  • Thomas’s place is the perfect spot to stay if you are visiting the metro dc area. The place is so quaint, the location is superb and Thomas is super accessible. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my stay here.

    Ashley2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thomas is a great host! He is extremely friendly and always wants to make sure you’re comfortable and have everything you need. I stayed here for a month and never felt like I was out of place or unwelcome. With the change of seasons he made sure my blankets were warm enough and always communicated quickly about anything I needed or asked. The kitchenette is perfect size for a one person stay, plenty of closet space, and the laundry amenities were very convenient especially since I stayed for so long. I highly recommend!

Comfortable quiet room in modern house in friendly neighborhood with on-street parking. Just a short walk to downtown Silver Spring/AFI/AIRP and 1 mile to the Silver Spring or Takoma Metro stations on the Red Line. Very fast WiFi connection. Just right for study, work or exploring DC! Please note that I have a small (30-lb) rescue dog. Hutch has a sweet temperament, but tends to be a bit skittish.
This guest room has a queen-sized bed, a large closet, a large desk, a night table, and a full bathroom next door. There are two other guest bedrooms in the house, each with twin beds. This space is perfect for quiet study, work or a relaxing vacation. Note for AIRP and FDA participants: My AIRP and FDA guests have all been extremely focused on their studies. I think they have found that my quiet house lends itself well to both individual and, for groups that have reserved 2 rooms, group study sessions. I am quiet and unobtrusive, and want to support your efforts to learn as much as you can while you're here. Our neighborhood, midway between downtown Silver Spring and Takoma Park, Maryland--and also near the DC border--is quiet, friendly and close-knit. These three areas each have their attractions. It's just a short stroll to the heart of downtown Silver Spring where you can catch a movie at the American Film Institute/Silver Theater, shop at the Safeway or Whole Foods, work or relax at Starbucks or one of the 3 independent coffee shops, go to the Farmer's Market on Saturdays, or dine at any of the many independen ethnic or chain restaurants. Both downtown Silver Spring and Takoma Park have vibrant commercial districts and are fun to explore. Takoma Park's downtown is a single block, with only independent shops --some of them charming and quirky--with the vibe of an "urban village". Our house is down the street from the Takoma Park branch of Montgomery College. There are 3 parks nearby, 2 public libraries within walking distance, an ice skating rink, and bike trails, too (just ask if you'd like to borrow my bike!) And of course, there are so many things to do in the city! The Takoma or Silver Spring Metrorail stations are less than a mile's walk (25 minutes, max!) There's almost always on-street parking available right in front of the house. This is a very walkable and friendly neighborhood, with easy access to bike paths, hiking trails, parks, and residential and commercial streets. If you're interested in a long-term stay, perhaps for an internship, rotation, professional training, or fellowship, you are likely to find this central location well-suited to your needs. I'm sure you'll find both your room and the entire house comfortable and convenient for study, relaxation, and exploring downtown DC and Silver Spring.

  • Susan is a very interesting woman whose house is full of books and nice artwork. It is conveniently located in a nice neighborhood about 25 minutes walk from either Takoma or Silver Spring metro. A nice relaxing place to stay.

  • Definitely a nice and cozy place to stay if you're in the DMV area, wouldn't mind stopping by again. It's very easy to get into DC even with it being in Maryland and Susan replied really quickly to any concerns I had during my stay.

  • I stayed at Sue’s home for 2 months during a transition with my job. Sue was nothing but kind and thoughtful, and always made sure I had everything I needed. Her home has everything one could need: spacious bedroom, large desk, sunroom, kitchen, and laundry. The neighborhood is quiet as well as the house, so it gives you the privacy you want/need. The only downside was having to share a bathroom with 2 other people but once schedules are discussed, it was no problem. My stay was more than I expected and I can’t thank Sue enough for trusting me to live in her home.

    Catherine2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for 6 weeks during an internship. It was absolutely perfect! Sue was always helpful and kind and I loved getting to know the other guests during my stay. I felt right at home immediately and would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the DC area, especially if it’s for a while. It helped that I had a car for rainy days when the 20 minute walk to the train would have been rough, but besides that the location is great— Silver Spring is a great town. I wouldn’t change anything about my stay!

    Maggie2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • There is every reason Sue is a Superhost! She is very kind and thoughtful and ensures every need you might have are taken care of even before you think of them -- from travel cards to umbrellas! Sue's Home is bright and beautiful! The bedroom is cozy, you can cook as much as you want in the welcoming kitchen, and the porch is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or your sundowner. Less than a mile to Takoma Metro (15 minutes walk), which connects you to all of DC. Cannot ask for better location in DC! I have lived in DC for 7 years and went back with my Mom visiting from India for my PhD Commencement. This stay tops my list! Sue even cooked a grand meal for us and other guests to share the night before we left! Bebop makes this stay perfect! She's a treasure and pure joy! Thanks so much Sue and Bebop! Enjoy their hospitality and DC folks! --

Lovely, quiet, private apartment in lower level of a bungalow home. Separate entrance with key code lock. Perfect for working, studying, visiting, or touring DC's historic & cultural sites. This is a classic 1920’s neighborhood, characterized by bungalows, cape cods, and cottages with front porches, majestic trees, inspired gardens, and well-traveled sidewalks. We’re halfway between downtown Silver Spring and Takoma Park and just a few blocks outside Washington, DC. While the immediate neighborhood is remarkably quiet for it’s close-in location, you'll find independent coffee shops and restaurants, Whole Foods and Safeway, the AFI Silver Theater, a 20-screen Regal Cinemas Majestic, and several live music venues are but a stroll away. For great info on arts, nightlife, dining and shopping, look at (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) "silver spring downtown." To catch the local vibe, take a stroll through the Farmer’s Market any Saturday morning. Check my Guidebook for a rundown on some of the great neighborhood amenities. Our community is remarkably diverse and offers a cornucopia of independently owned cafes and restaurants!
  • Clean, cosy, and well stocked!

  • Great place to stay in Silver Spring! Space was just what I needed and was very clean.

    Tyler2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy's AirBNB was just what we were looking for while visiting our son and his family over the holidays. It was sparkling clean and very tastefully appointed throughout. The bed was so comfy! The house is so close to downtown Sandy Springs and transportation. Suzy was a wonderful and very accommodating host. Perfect place to stay!

    Anne2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy's airbnb unit was everything I was looking for. I loved the keypad lock for easy entry to the unit. I have been traveling for several months and booked many places through airbnb and did not find a private space as comfortable as Suzy's. Eating healthy and having enough room to store food, cook and clean up is important to me. This was a great kitchen to do exactly that. I visited in the winter and found the unit to be very warm. I was able to control adjust the temperature. The space gets enough indirect natural light. The bathroom is a good size and hot water is quick and plentiful. The photos are accurate. I imagine it would be a great place to stay in the spring and summer to sit in the gated backyard. This is a basement unit of a home, which was never an issue, as well as some expected day time noise of people walking above you, but again never was an issue. The actual unit does not have a lock, there is a keypad lock on the door to outside. Suzy may enter the unit to access the storage space and communicate with you and let you know. If privacy and locked space is important to you ask the host questions to get more details. This did not bother me. I used to live in the DC area and frequented this neighborhood. It is best to have a car while staying here, but not necessary if you are trying to save money. It is close to shopping centers and grocery stores without the noise and traffic impacting your stay. It is a very quiet street which I was liked. I enjoyed going for long walks in the neighborhood. The 24 hour laundromat is 1 block away with efficient washers and machines. Suzy provides two cards for you to load with money at the facility for use. The owner does have the sweetest dog that is never in the space and it is possible for you to stay and have zero interaction if you are not a dog person. This is wonderful and budget friendly place to stay and feel like you are at home while away from you own home. Would stay again and recommend Suzy's place to friends and family. Thank you Suzy!

    Nicole2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy was the most accommodating host I could ask for. Keen to make my stay comfortable. The apartment was perfect for my needs and exactly as listed. Suzy really goes the extra mile for her guests!

    Maryam2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures are very accurate. Relaxing and cheerful. Host is great! Would definitely recommend a stay here.

    Mary2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy’s place was nicely decorated and worked well for one person for an extended stay. There’s a good amount of space and the kitchen was a nice bonus. It was a little far to walk to AIRP in the August heat/humidity but would be fine in cooler months. And the Wayne Street garage has reasonable all-day parking if needed.

    Kelly2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy space is immaculately clean, stylish and modern. There are plenty of places to stretch out and relax, a super-comfy bed, and thoughtful toiletries in the bright and spotless bathroom. Lots of thoughtful touches in the kitchen, too, including fresh coffee and a drip coffee pot. Look forward to staying again when I'm back in the area!

  • Very nice host + Airbnb. We really enjoyed the privacy and coziness. It was extremely clean and looked identical to the pictures! The neighborhood was a little different than what I had expected, but the place was great. Only twenty minutes to the city!

Our cool and modern home is conveniently located three blocks away from the Takoma Park Metro station. You will have access to all of the amenities of a bustling city while enjoying the green and slower pace Takoma neighborhood. We are renting our entire and recently renovated basement suite. With its own private entrance, bedroom, living area, bathroom, kitchenette (microwave, mini fridge, water kettle, & coffee maker), and access to the backyard. Plenty of free parking across the street.
The private entrance will allow you to come and go as you please. The modern decor and renovated space has the feel of a big city boutique hotel suite. The kitchenette includes a microwave, mini-fridge, water heater, and coffee maker. It does not have a stove but guests are free to use the grill on the back patio. Although this space is in our basement, there is ample light and lots of privacy. It is a great place to come and relax after a day of sightseeing or work. You can expect some family noises during the day. We do our best to keep it to a minimum so as to not disturb our guests.
You can say a lot of things about Takoma. You can call it “eclectic,” a catch-all for the liberal, vegan-friendly vibe that persists there; you might say it’s dead after 9 p.m., thanks to a limited bar scene; or you can call it the new trendy territory for a young homebuyer. Takoma is a green and leafy neighborhood with old homes intact, thanks to the residents who fought against a 10-mile freeway that was set to rip through the neighborhood in the 1960s. Condos and rentals exist, but the real market is for Takoma’s colonials, Cape Cod-style homes, and bungalows. These houses were built mostly between 1920 and 1950. The DC neighborhood shares a name and a border with Takoma Park just over the Maryland state line. Takoma sits at the northeastern tip of the District, with Eastern Avenue separating it from Maryland. To the west, Georgia Avenue separates it from Rock Creek Park, and somewhere between Tuckerman and Van Buren Streets marks Takoma’s southern border.
  • Thank you for being great hosts. Your apartment was perfect for our needs. It has a great location and was very comfortable and clean.

    Donald2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish and harming apartment. Very close to downtown Takoma. Rebecca and Luis are lovely people and wonderful hosts. When looking at the apartment just note that it is basement level, has a small fridge and microwave but no real kitchen, and they do have a huge, wonderful dog and a darling daughter. Guests on the couch may hear morning activities as the family get started for the day. Guests in the bedroom only hear the dog for a bit in the morning. I found my stay to be delightful, the apartment is stylish, clean, has laundry (yay) and is in a safe neighborhood.

    E. Loren2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect stay! Very clean, stylish, in safe area & very close to metro to get around DC area. Having sounds of family (minimal) above us was reassuring to our usual boisterous family.

    Jessica2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is even better than it looks in pictures. Very good space for multiple people and the "pull out" is much much better than that. (It's a great Room and Board couch that creates a giant, comfortable sleeping space.)The hosts were immediately responsive. The space is quiet but so close to so many amenities. It also was spotless without smelling like cleaning fluid which I really appreciate as someone who is sensitive to smells. I would not hesitate to book here again.

    Sara2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca y Luis place did an excellent job of guest care. There are many little touches that made us smile!

  • It’s in a great location. Super close to Takoma Park and the metro station. And across from a fabulous park with a playground. The interior space is really clean as well.

    Diana2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca and Luis were great at communicating with me. I found their check in instructions very helpful for getting to the apartment since it’s not totally obvious from just looking at the house. I would advise future guests to really read the instructions. The interior is designed very stylishly and has a warm feel to it. It can get noisy because you can hear sounds from the main house during the day, and when the heating turns on it can be a weird noise too. The noises didn’t bother me too much but I can see it bothering others so just letting you guys know. Overall, I would recommend a stay here if you’re going to be in the DC NW/Takoma area.

  • Jennifer was great with communication. She offers a functional and private space, with free off street parking and walking distance to downtown Silver Spring. I would stay there again.

    David2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great space with lots of room and books & games and DVDs! Excellent for kids with a back yard. You will hear the upstairs owners doing normal life stuff, but it's not a big deal. Very easy walk from the Metro red line.

    Rikki2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very spacious, clean apartment! i've stayed in many basement apartments in the Silver Spring area over the last 5 years and Jennifer's is definitely the most spacious while still being only 2 blocks from downtown Silver Spring. I liked the easy access to the apartment from the backyard and keypad entry. I would definitely recommend it! Look forward to staying there again.

  • Clean and comfortable. This is a whole apartment, not just a room and bath. Jennifer was very good with quick communication, and offer to be helpful in any way. Neighborhood felt safe. Safeway, CVS, town center, food establishments all within ez walking distance. Same for Redline Metro. Path to apt well-lit by sensor lights for after dark checkin or return from time out at night. Keypad entry a big plus

    Gary2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Place was just as described and perfect for my needs. Easy to locate and close to downtown area. Manual provided was very helpful for finding restaurants. I will look to stay here again in future visits to Silver Spring.

    Beth2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Place was much larger than it looks in pictures! So close to everything in Silver Spring, I was able to walk to restaurants and my conference, everything I needed was less than a mile away! Great back yard, if it had been warmer outside I would have taken advantage of it.

Bonjour, welcome to our brand new basement apartment in DC! Amenities include a spacious bedroom, living area with kitchenette, full bath with heated floors. Parking permit available upon request. It is a 0.5 miles walk to the Takoma metro station, including restaurants and shops. Tennis courts, indoor pool, running track is across the street. A great place if you’re visiting DC or Silver Spring, MD. Please note we have a young child, therefore, some noise from upstairs should be expected.
Brand new apartment and fully independent (access, amenities...)! The bedroom has its own closet space. The bathroom has heated floors, keeping your feet warm in the winter! You can unfold the sofa into a bed to accommodate an additional guest. The apartment includes a kitchen stocked with pots and pans and dishes. There is also a two burner stove (the stove does not include an oven).
Our house is located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to public transportation and also remote from the heavy traffic streets and urban honks and noise. We are also one metro stop away from downtown Silver Spring (close to the AFI independent movie theater). Starbucks and coffee shops, restaurants, are nearby feel free to ask for recommendations. Although our place is not located in downtown DC, visitors have easy access to public transportation.
  • The home was better than expected. Benjamin accommodated me even in the event of my delayed check-in, and the home was very clean and was stylish. The heated bathroom floor was a plus that I did not even expect to enjoy so much.

    Drayton2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, modern, with a heated bathroom floor. Kitchen includes separate sink and stovetop in addition to usual fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Gracious host. Prompt responses.

  • In all honestly, if we ever come back to D.C this is where we would love to stay again. It’s surpassed our expectations and we couldn’t be happier. The host Ben was very nice, and communication was great. Along to this the place was beautiful, clean and located in a place that was perfect for us. We really suggest booked with Ben!!!

    Kimberly2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was just as shown, brand new and nicely designed with nice surprise finishing touches like the heated floor in the bathroom, and smart trip cards to use on the Metro to get around the city. The apartment was nice and clean and very well kept. An added bonus was that parking in the area was stress free as well.

    Rob2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This an adorable apartment in a wonderful neighborhood. Heidy and Ben were very responsive to questions and very hospitable. We hope to stay here again some time when we’re visiting family in the area.

  • Ben was a wonderful host. There was open and clear communication before, during, and after our stay. The home was very nice and perfect for 2-3 guests. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

Sunny garden-level apartment (part of original 1921 bungalow) on a lovely, leafy street, this sweet cozy getaway offers the best of both worlds: located in eclectic, picturesque, walkable Takoma Park, but only a 15 min car or Metro ride to downtown D.C. Lots of great bars and restaurants nearby; fully functioning kitchen (full-size fridge, oven, stove, basics). Steps away from Sligo Creek Trail, perfect for taking in nature on foot or bike, and a 25-30min walk or 5-7 min car/Lyft to Metro.
  • A simply charming, quaint, full of character where modern meets vintage . Colorful, inviting, clean and so very relaxing after a day of city - trotting. Perfect for one or two people. Easy check in, good and timely communication with the hosts and I love the community vibe and neighborhood of Takoma park. Great for a morning jog along Sligo Creek before heading out for your day In the city! I will be back! Many thanks.

  • This is a great location next to a nice quiet trail. It is also very close to DC if you're looking to explore that area.

  • Great location, quiet beautiful neighborhood. Easy check in. Great bed!!

    Jane2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great value in really cool location. One thing to keep in mind is the ceilings are very low. If you are taller than 5'9", it is a bit uncomfortable. I would stay again as the price for the location was perfect.

  • We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was close to the city but in a quiet neighborhood. We recommend a stay at this place!

  • Charles and his family were great. He responds very promptly and accommodated me. I was allowed to drop off my luggage early. I truly appreciate that. Their place is quite the cute getaway. Perfect to distress from the city Life. The neighborhood is so calm with families doing evening walks. The bus is only 3 min walk and takes you to the red line metro and the Takoma downtown. UBER/ lift does take a while to get there ( however I come from a city where i never see 15-20min wait for a ride). But overall the place is like a total personal space to relax.

    Denisse2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cute spot! Cozy and clean, photos accurately depict the place. Hosts are communicative, helpful, and kind.

    Bella2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • I needed a temporary space close to home to stay during a renovation and selected this. It was my first Airbnb rental, so I was a bit skeptical. I was surprised when I checked in and discovered how lucky I was. This is definitely a hideaway in one of the coolest and most eclectic neighborhoods in suburban DC. You don’t even realize the proximity to everything. The light filled space consists of a fully functioning kitchen with a table and two chairs, a small bathroom with a shower and a spacious bedroom with two comfy chairs. While it cannot be described as a luxury space, it is simply decorated with vintage touches that make it the charming space it is. Not an ounce of space is wasted. Private, peaceful, safe and so much greenery. The hosts were both extremely kind and very accommodating. I felt really safe. Check in and check out were a breeze. There was a list of places to eat left on the fridge. Since I was in and out I wanted to make sure I didn’t bother anyone. Thank goodness the space was separate. It allowed me the privacy to come and go without disturbing anyone. I would definitely book this again.

  • Highly recommended - if you get the chance to book this place, go for it! We stayed at Kara's and Susan's place for 2 months. The basement flat has its own entrance and is clean, cozy, well equipped and well furnished. Kara and Susan were wonderful hosts, very friendly and they provided great tips for daytrips and hiking. We felt very welcome and could not have been happier about our short-term-home in D.C. The neighbourhood was very friendly, peaceful and inviting. We really enjoyed Takoma's farmers market and sunday morning walks through Takoma and Silver Springs, as well as visits to the Smithsonians, hiking trips to the area and strolling through the city. Also, Rock Creek Park is nearby and worth a visit. We got to see a lot of squirrels, birds, cats and other animals like butterflies or caterpillars in the lovely garden. The Metro (red line) was only a 10ish minutes walk away, which was very convenient. We would return and stay here any time. Solid 5 out of 5.

  • Zenith's place was great! Very clean & comfortable. Convenient on-street parking & an easy walk to downtown Silver Spring. Zenith got right back to me on the couple questions I had & check-in was super easy. As stated in the description, the duct work on the ceiling is very low. My husband just got under it at 5'10". It is very spacious & stylish. We will definitely be back!

    Wendy2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Zenith's place, underneath her family's home, is clean and comfortable in an accessible location. I recommend having earplugs on hand if you're a light sleeper to ensure you aren't woken by the sound of children's feet preparing for school. Otherwise the downstairs space is quiet (Saturday morning, we didn't hear a sound). Zenith is flexible and communicates thoughtfully, expressing care for your experience.

The two rooms are attached to the back of our house and you will have access to our kitchen, laundry room, and the upstairs bathtub and shower. You have your own private entrance. Your rooms have a private entrance and a view into the spacious backyard. The space can comfortably fit two people. In a pinch, we could throw a mat on the floor and fit in a child or young adult.
Takoma Park has a reputation as "Azalea City" and one of the most liberal cities on the east coast. It hosts a wonderful food co-op, terrific restaurants and great local parks.

Just a 25-minute walk to downtown Silver Spring/AFI and 1 mile to either the Takoma or Sil Spring Metro station on Red Line. Perfect for work, study or relaxation! Fully furnished room overlooking backyard. On-street parking in my quiet neighborhood, with coffee shops, gyms, two supermarkets, movie theaters and more! I recently adopted a small (30-lb) rescue dog. Hutch has a sweet temperament, but can be a bit skittish and sometimes barks at new guests, especially in the beginning of their stay.
This room has a twin bed, a large closet, a desk by a window overlooking the backyard, a night table, and a full bathroom right across the hall. This space is perfect for quiet study, work or a relaxing vacation. The house has a rapid Wifi connection.
Our neighborhood, midway between downtown Silver Spring and Takoma Park, Maryland--and also close to the DC border--is quiet, friendly and close-knit. These three areas each have their own unique attractions. It's just a short stroll to downtown Silver Spring to catch a movie at the American Film Institute/Silver Theater, shop at the Safeway or Whole Foods, go to the Farmer's Market on Saturdays, or dine at one of the many ethnic or chain restaurants. Takoma Park's downtown is a single block, with only independent businesses --some of them charming and quirky--it has the vibe of an "urban village". Our house is down the street from the Takoma Park branch of Montgomery College. There are 3 parks nearby, and bike trails, too (just ask if you'd like to borrow my bike!) And of course, there are so many things to do in the city!
  • Nice place with well kept comfortable private rooms. A shared bathroom - but I never had a problem. Washer and dryer are most modern and very convenient. The surroundings in Takoma area are plush green with birds chirping early in the morning. Metro stations are at a 20 minute walk either side - Takoma or Silver Spring - which is a healthy bit of walking each day. Overall a pleasure.

  • It's an excellent experience in Susan's place, she is so welcoming and hospitality. The room is very comfy and clean! I would recommend to you!

  • I had a great experience at Susan's place in the Sliver spring. I felt welcome from the moment I arrived - Susan takes care of every detail in hosting guests in her charming home - I wish I had more time to talk to her while I was there. Definitely a great place for those visiting DC or Silver Spring.

  • Susan is one of the best Airbnbs hosts in the world. I highly and warmly recommend her place!

  • nice experience

    Shanshan2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • I would def recommend this place for people planning to do their AIRP rotation. Susan's place is clean, comfortable and quiet, which allows you to study comfortably. Susan is so kind and lets you use most of the stuff at her place. The distance from her place to AIRP is about 20 min walk which I did not mind at all, but if it is a warm day, it can be sweaty! And also there is free parking available off street, which is a huge advantage. So if you are not an extremely high maintenance person who is looking for a place to stay for AIRP, highly consider this opportunity.

    Peiman2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The room was great! Quiet and comfortable. Susan was a fantastic host, very attentive and engaging. I enjoyed visiting with her and her other guest on the back deck with a glass of wine in hand. I would definitely stay again.
