Detached studio with majestic, cliff top views over Lochbay and Waternish to the village of Stein & across the sea to the Outer Hebrides. We have the most amazing sunsets! Open plan, cosy, yet light and airy; a peaceful haven in which to relax. We've tried to create self catering, that is a tad out of the ordinary, with funky textiles & quirky local touches. Modern facilities, huge drench shower, dishwasher, log burner, free wi-fi. Huge Overwater House, next door, for a couple, also available.
The larch clad studio was designed by us to make the most of fabulous views. The living space is dominated by the huge window, right next to this is the comfy couch. The ceiling is high to create a light and airy feel to the compact, open plan studio. The oak floor helps to give the space a feeling of warmth and luxury. Opposite the couch, in the corner, is the log burning stove and on the same wall the tv. The kitchen is well equipped with a vintage oak table at which to eat. Everything in the studio has been made or chosen with love & care. We've consciously tried to avoid the neutral, high street look. The bed is king-sized with Egyptian cotton bedding. Included in the price is free WiFi. There is a small decking area on the sea side for guests to sit out on. The garden is enclosed. There is a privacy fence to shield the studio from the house next door. Logs are also provided for the stove and all electricity is included. The bathroom has a huge, walk in, drench shower. We’re not fans of fabric conditioners or tumble dryers so although the towels are Egyptian Cotton, they’re not the softest.
Waternish, in the north of the island, is one of the most beautiful parts of the Isle of Skye. It has magnificent views across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides. Blue Moon studio has undoubtedly one of the finest views on Waternish. Sit by the huge window & enjoy the constantly changing light on the water. There are wonderful boat trips from the local jetty. We're close to Stein with the oldest pub on Skye & Michael Smith's, 'Lochbay Restaurant'. Skye is 'foodie' heaven!
  • David & Jayne's place was in a fantastic location with stunning views of the surrounding bay. The Blue Moon Studio was stylish and comfortable, and we really appreciated the local touches. David & Jayne were friendly and very helpful providing suggestions of nearby restaurants and places to visit. The shortbread in the studio was delicious, and we were made to feel right at home. We'd love to come back as soon as we can, Skye is must visit and I couldn't recommend The Blue Moon Studio more highly!

  • Perfect - the studio is fantastic, much bigger than it looks in the images. Amazing views, fabulous location. Very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend.

  • Blue Moon Studio is fantastically located and fantastically clean. The host was excellent at communicating and made us feel very welcome. We didn’t want to leave and would love to go back 👍🏻☺️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  • I had an amazing time at the Blue Moon Studio, and on Skye. A great escape from life back home. The location on Loch Bay was perfect for me...to walk to Stein, to drive to the Talisker distillery, Neist Point, and The Three Chimneys for dinner Sunday night. I could spend hours looking out the window at that stunning view! And I'd strongly recommend being at the studio for at least one sunset! The little welcoming touches provided were really appreciated...the wood for the stove, the shortbread, the coffee and a bottle of wine. Additionally, Jayne was advising on possible travel issues (because I was staying in February when the weather was a bit iffy). And offering tips on where to go for a lively Skye experience. I'd definitely stay again!

  • Blue Moon Studio was a perfect getaway with a spectacular view. David and Jayne were excellent with their communication and check in was very straightforward. The studio is a lovely space and is in a great location to explore lots of different parts of Skye. The wood burning stove and view were particular highlights but the whole place was lovely and sparkling clean. Couldn’t recommend it more highly and will definitely be back for future visits!

    Jo2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Blue Moon Studio was the perfect space for us to relax for a long weekend up on Skye. The view from the living room will be extremely difficult to leave. David & Jayne’s local knowledge helped us massively as it was our first time visiting Skye.

  • Beautiful place - amazing location, house lovely and had everything you need with a fully equipped kitchen. Lovely wood burning stove. Beautifully decorated lots of good information and gave us good advice on local running routes! Hope to visit again in the summer!

  • Highly recommended - accommodation, location, special touches, wealth of useful info and tips for things to see and do. Will be adding an 'owner biography' page to my cottage folder - such a clever touch if you like the full picture!

Right next to the shore - along which you can walk to the local Inn. Simple, spacious and basic. This bothy is our former home decluttered. One large, light open-plan room. Small range & wood-burner provides heating and hot water. Composting toilet.
This is an old stone building with a more recent stone end built by my brother Donald Icky Maclachlan - stonemason. It is very basic but it does have double glazing. The track down into the bay at Camuslusta is very steep. Although some people can find this a bit daunting, the track has a fairly good surface and all the residents of Camuslusta drive normal cars up and down it daily. The front door of the bothy practically opens onto the beach. Although the track to our house runs between the bothy and the shore. You can watch the gannets, gulls, herons, oyster-catchers, seals and occasionally an otter from the front door or through the windows. With views over to the uninhabited headland opposite, out to the little islands at the head of the bay, or of the shipping crossing the Minch between us and the Outer Isles. The bothy has one large, light and spacious, open-plan living, kitchen, sleeping room. The bothy offers flexible sleeping arrangements - there is a double bed and also a 1930's sofa bed which is probably not that comfortable. Depending on what is required - I can also make up another single bed or another double. Get in touch if you would like to have the sofabed and the two double beds - this is possible. The kitchen is very basic. One step up from camping - it's inside, and there's a sink and a fridge. It has a small wood-burning range which heats the water and also two-ring gas stove for quick cooking. The bothy has basics like an electric kettle, electric toaster, pans, plates glasses and cutlery. We provide basics like milk, oatmeal for porridge (and a recipe), tea, coffee, olive oil for cooking, salt, pepper. At the moment - guests can use the bathroom in our house for a shower. We have towels - not necessarily the fluffiest ever, but fine. As guests you will have the option of using a simple composting toilet outside (until the new grander composting toilet is built) or the toilet in the house. Our house is a short distance along the track and the bathroom is in the extension by the front door. There is a telly but it only plays videos. There are a few videos in the cupboard - a small but varied collection. Do not expect this bothy to be immaculate - it is a more than a little worn around the edges - but it is a beautiful space in an amazing spot.
The view changes with the weather - very atmospheric moody windy wild wet days and then you wake up to the clear beauty of a sunny day - looking across the still loch to the unpopulated peninsula opposite. Just step outside and you can wander along the shore towards the village, to the pub (the Stein Inn) or the small craft shop. You can book a boat trip out from the jetty at Stein. Stein is roughly a twenty minute walk. Or you can walk the other way to find some peace and quiet. The Stein Inn serves food and there is also a small seafood restaurant (for which you probably need to book) - if walking to Stein, you can also walk around the road, which takes a bit longer. Or you can drive.
  • Brigid's bothy is simple, clean, well equipped and really lovely. More than that, the location - it's simply heaven, really unbelievable! An unmissable experience.

  • Brilliant hosts and beautiful location. A dream trip for both of us

    Ruairi2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Brigid place is a little touch of Heaven. It’s locked away in a quiet wee corner of Skye and if you want absolute peace and quiet, Go There! Brigid is a fantastic host who explains everything then leaves you to get on with your stay, but if you need anything, she’ll definitely help you without hesitation. A true gem of a find.

    David2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant Bothy that’ll give you that calm Skye experience without going full on camping! Would definitely recommend and Brigid is super helpful !

    Nick2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect wee spot right by the ocean for a quiet and very affordable break away, close to Portree for all the main shops and supplies if needed too. Great host that was a lot of help and also very generous with help and advice, well worth listening too. Would have already booked another trip if it wasn’t so far booked up lol, honestly didn’t want to leave. Great place

    David2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Hello, not amazing views. Very nice atmosphere. Brigid very helpful. I would definitely recommend.

    Ewa2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the Bothy. The location was perfect, cozy, relaxing and just what we needed. Thanks to Bridgid for being such a Great host. Would definitely recommend and stay at this location again.

    Roxanne2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The wee bothy has what you need. We were only there 2 nights, which was a pity, could happily stayed for longer. The views are simply amazing! Brigid was great, maintained contact throughout and advised beforehand that there was a slight issue with the track, but it wasn’t an issue for us. We will return to Skye for sure and would happily stay here again :)

Our beautiful wooden pods are set on the hillside behind the Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse and enjoy amazing views across to the bay and the hilly surroundings of Uig. In a wonderful location to explore the Isle of Skye, The Cowshed is perfectly situated for enjoying spectacular sunsets in a peaceful setting. We have 7 pods available, and each of these cosy spaces is equipped with enough comforts for you to enjoy a relaxing break surrounded by nature.
Each pod has a double bed and a double pull out sofa bed. We believe that they are the perfect size for a couple or a family with 1 or 2 small children, but may be a little too 'cosy' for more than 2 adults, or a family with older children. Each pod is self contained with a small en-suite wetroom, as well as a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, kettle, and crockery. Inside the pod you also have a little dining table with chairs, and outside each pod is a wooden bench for you to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Pets are welcome to join you in the pod, but please let us know this at the time of booking. There is an additional charge of £5.00 per night to bring a pet, and this can be paid on arrival. Unfortunately pets are not allowed in the kitchen/lounge space of the main bunkhouse. Maximum of 2 dogs per pod. We have WiFi available 24/7 in our main bunkhouse building, but this does not stretch up to the pods. We hope you are able to enjoy the peaceful surroundings while at your pod, and make the most of your time to 'switch off'.
The village of Uig is not very big, but has everything you could need during your stay. There is an excellent general store for your grocery needs (Rankins), a petrol station, cafes, restaurants and a couple of bars. The Isle of Skye Brewing Company is also based in the village.. Local wildlife is in abundance with seals and otters often spotted in the bay and eagles and buzzards soaring overhead. During Spring and Summer there are daily boat trips from the Uig Pier to look for whales and puffins. There are some great local walks, shorter options include a stroll through the woods to the sea shore, a walk to the thundering Rha Falls, or exploring the fantastic landforms of the Fairy Glen and feel the magic of this quite unique miniature landscape of grassy cone shaped hills. Longer hikes take you up to the scenic wonders of the Trotternish Ridge. The Isle of Skye offers something for everyone; amazing hiking, glorious scenery, varied wildlife…. the list is endless. The Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse makes the perfect base to make the most of everything the island has to offer. We are surrounded by beautiful scenery and just a short drive from some of the great ‘North End Highlights’, including the Quiraing, The Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and, just a short walk away from the Cowshed, the magical Fairy Glen. The wonders of the North West of the island should also not be missed, with the Fairy Pools, Neist Point Lighthouse, Dunvegan Castle, Coral Beaches and the Talisker Distillery, to name just a few highlights which are easy to reach from Uig. The staff would be happy to recommend great day trips from here, ensuring that you don’t miss any of the or hidden away secrets.
  • Warm welcome, very pleasant pod. Great stay!

    Justine2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had an excellent stay in the cowshed, would definitely recommend especially to anyone looking for somewhere to take a pet on holiday.

  • We had an amazing night staying at the cowsheds. The view- WOW! Everyone was so nice and welcoming and the communal lounge was amazing.

    Chris2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Cowshed is one of the most interesting Airbnb’s we have been. It is located on the top of the hill overlooking a picturesque view of the sea and the mountains. We went on a winter and the winds are pretty strong but the Cowshed is warm and toasty.

    Karla Danica2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice pods, located in a beautiful place. In addition, there is also a public area (hostel) with a large kitchen where you can also cook. Nice atmosphere and very hospitable staff. 3 days was really too short. Too bad we could not stay longer.

The Hobbit house with its round door is straight out of Middle Earth! It is close to the sea, the beach and the mountains. It has a spectacular view of Beinn na Cailleach (Hill of the Old Woman). 'The Old Woman' was a Norse princess (Skye once belonged to Norway) .The Hobbit House is NOT suitable for pets, sorry! The first thing you should do is download the map from our photo gallery. Satnav doesn't work here!
The Hobbit house is good for couples and solo adventurers. There is a double bed with egyptian cotton sheets and pocket-sprung mattress. It's heated by a halogen heater and oil-filled radiator, and there is a BBQ outside! For cosy nights in there is a flat screen Internet TV for streaming BBC iPlayer, Netflix, Amazon Prime.
  • The hobbit house is incredibly charming! You will wake up to stunning views through the round window in the doorway, and you have all of Skye available to you. The kitchen is well equipped for basic cooking, and you can keep the house cozy and warm easily. Susan was very responsive and extremely helpful! Highly recommended.

  • Beautiful space and great location, perfect base for exploring Skye

    Alexander2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Having read the glowing reviews for the hobbit house we had very high expectations. Safe to say it more than exceeded them. It had everything we could possibly need, it’s very comfortable and the views are breathtaking (including the night sky). Duncan suggested places to visit and they were all amazing. Thank you both so much.

    Matt2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous place! Stunning views. Good location. All round great little find. I would absolutely recommend to anyone!

    Kay2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit house is a truly unique and wonderful place to stay. A modern construction but with bags of character, isolated yet close to the town of Broadford for avoid range of amenities and serves as a good Hun for travelling to and from Skye and is on a major route to get to the isles hotspots. We were there during a big storm and despite the place getting bashed around in the wind place was, well insolated, warm and cosy, and has everything you need for your stay. The kitchen facilities are basic, as to be expected for this kind of property but we still managed to russle up a steak dinner and cooked breakfast everyday with no issues. Lovely hosts as well and some good tips in the guest book. A truly memorable, first class experience.

    Tom2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great little setup if you want to visit Skye. We arrived along with storm Ciara and it kept us safe, dry and cosy. Facilities are great, all the standard stuff but nice extras like heaters and dehumidifiers so we were able to dry off easily after we got in after a day out. Would definitely revisit next time we head up to Skye

    Ben2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy place that has everything you need. It is located on a hill and the views are amazing. Host was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

    Ilya2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Yet another great stay! Susan and Duncan are the perfect hosts and their place serves as a great base to explore the treasures of Skye, Kyle and beyond. I’ll be back again next year!!!

    Breakish, Scotland, United Kingdom

Situated between Plockton and Kyle of Lochalsh, our remote bed and breakfast has stunning views and you'll get a lovely homemade breakfast with fresh eggs from our chickens! Please note we are in a remote place and are ten minutes drive from restaurants and shops. Please print out the location instructions before your trip as sometimes GPS is not accurate.
Our detached, contemporary house is set just a few metres from the sea, in a tiny hamlet called Port an Eorna and it is only three miles from Kyle of Lochalsh, which is where you cross over the bridge to the Isle of Skye, so it is an ideal base for exploring Skye and the other lovely villages in this area such as Torridon and Applecross. Breakfast is served in the kitchen overlooking the sea and includes home made bread, home made yoghurt and home made granola - all made by Lynne - as well as fruit, cheese, continental meats, cereal, orange juice, tea, coffee, toast, jam, marmalade and pastries (sometimes homemade!). We also have a few hens so if you want some eggs for breakast, just ask! There are three restaurants near us - just two miles away - in the village of Plockton. When you are in the house you do not have to stay in your room. Our lounge has two huge corner windows, with two cosy armchairs so you are very welcome to sit in it and look at the scenery or read or just completely relax. The views are gorgeous and if you want to go for a short walk there is a very nice one outside and you can see beautiful views of the Isle of Skye. There is a private bathroom directly next door to the bedroom which guests will have sole use of and it has a huge shower with a rainforest shower head.
This is a remote neighbourhood - ten minutes drive from any restaurants or shops. It is very tranquil - there are just four detached houses at the end of a single track road - so you can totally relax and enjoy peace and quiet and nature.
  • One of those places where you instantly begin to plan when to visit again.

    Frederik2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say- a truly wonderful stay with some truly wonderful people (including Casper the dog!) Lynne and Darren's home is positioned in the most beautiful landscape imaginable and their lovely modern home makes full use of this view and environment, with very large windows that look out onto unbeatable views. Perched on the edge of the sea, there is always something to look at- an ever changing piece of art. The bedroom is a comfortable space with a large bed and storage, but to be honest we didn't spend any time here unless we were sleeping. This is because Lynne and Darren very kindly give their guests full use of their living space, with stunning views and log burner. The kitchen adjoins this lounge space, so Lynne and Darren were around this space to make food occasionally etc and say hello, but this living space would otherwise be yours to use. Likewise the bathroom next to your bedroom is a lovely functional space, with walk-in shower, and you will have sole use of this during your stay. The kitchen is where Lynne would prepare lovely breakfasts for us each morning. We were spoilt with homemade bread, yoghurt, jams and granola. Cheeses and meats were laid on, as were Lynne's home grown eggs! We also had pastries, buns or crumpets etc on other mornings- we never never short of lovely things to eat. When Lynne and Darren were around they would offer tea and always check in with us. Lynne's home is a croft, and so there are a number of animals around the house! We had a lot of fun watching her chickens and small flock of sheep carry out their daily routines, and we had a lot of entertainment from getting to know their rescue dog Casper. The position of the house makes it ideally placed to walk/ drive to a variety of beauty spots, whether that is a coastal walk around the local peninsula, or a walk into the nearby village of Plockton (which has a number of lovely pubs and places to pick up supplies). You can't help but fall out of the house into the gorgeous countryside! Lynne was on hand to recommend local walks to us during our stay, and we couldn't get enough of exploring the local area. This is a rural location, so if you want to make the most of your stay, bring some walking boots and get ready to explore some incredible scenery first hand! Can't recommend Lynne and Darren's lovely home enough- if you book your stay with them, you won't be disappointed!

    Chloe2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was amazing. The hosts are wonderful, and helped to provide a great experience, serving delicious food, and are knowledgable about the area and generous with their time. The house is located in a gorgeous setting close to the Isle of Skye. Highly recommend

    Remy2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing stay at Lynne and Darren’s! The view is next to none, and the ease to get around is great. So peaceful and pristine, and the home is so cozy and a great base for exploring the Isle of Skye. Loved getting to know the hosts and share some stories over a cuppa!

    Ange2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! We loved staying with Lynne, Darren, and Casper! The house has a stunning view of the sea and its cozy seating areas give you the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the incredible scenery. Their hospitality is off the charts and we can not recommend a better place to stay. We’re already trying to figure out when we can return!

    Kate2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lynne is such an amazing host. Staying was as comfortable as being at home, and the place is absolutely incredible. There are short walks to take right from the house, and it is ideal to get to Skye, if that is your destination. Lynne also had great tips for where to visit and where to eat. If we are back in the area, we would definitely stay again.

    Jason2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Dreamy location, excellent hosts with good local tips and eclectic conversation. I could sit at those magnificent windows all day if there wasnt so much to see locally.

    Eric2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is the place to stay if you wish to spend a day or more exploring Skye! You will have a fantastic drive through the Highlands to get here. (We recommended arriving during daylight unless you are an experienced driver!) The property itself and the views each morning are wonderful and worth exploring before you even go out for the day. Lovely cafe nearby and we enjoyed the restaurants in Plockton. Lynne is easy to get to know and makes you feel at ease and welcome at all times! Breakfast each morning is enjoyable, especially the eggs from her chickens! Sheep and Highland cows greet you each day as well. A place for animal lovers in a rural environment. The bed and bath area are in a private area of the house, but we felt welcome in the living and kitchen area and enjoyed our time in the chairs looking at the view and enjoying the fire each night.

Your own piece of tranquility in our Little Skye Bothy, with outstanding views to the loch and the mountains. The pod has kitchen facilities, 2 ring hob and microwave (no oven). Tea, coffee and sugar are provided. There is a shower room, an ottoman double bed and a sofa bed for an extra guest. There is an oil filled heater, table and chairs, TV for watching DVD's (there is no signal for local or national channels) and wifi is available
This pod is situated to make the most of the beautiful views and for privacy. You can lie in bed while enjoying the view or sit on the decking enjoying the scenery and wildlife
Heaste is a little hidden gem situated on the shores of Loch Eishort, 5 miles along a single track road from Broadford. There are several working crofts and creel fishing boats working from the loch. Heaste continues many of the older traditions of Skye such as peat cutting. There is a sea eagle nesting in the trees across the loch. There are walks to Boreraig (a highland clearance village). There are stunning views over to the Sleat peninsula and knoydart.
  • My boyfriend and I had a amazing stay here. The pod exceeded expectations and the host was lovely. Set in a quaint village called Heaste, the pod sits on the top of a hill boasting picturesque views over the loch. The location feels like you are miles from civilisation in your own peaceful bubble. This pod is in easy reach of all of Isle of Skye’s tourist spots 40 minutes from the Fairy Pools, 45 minutes The Storr and one hour from the Neist Point Lighthouse. We would definitely recommend this Airbnb for a romantic weekend away nestled in the countryside.

  • Nicky was outstanding and so was her bothy. She was more than accommodating gave us recommendations where to eat every night and even turned the heater on before our arrival. The bothy itself was perfection and the best stay we had our entire trip.

    Stephanie2020-03-06T00:00:00Z

  • The Skye Bothy was amazing. It had all the amenities you could want, was lovely and warm, even in February with amazing views. Kirsty was wonderful and extremely helpful and accommodating. Thank you so much for a beautiful stay, Bec and Josh x

    India2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The little bothy is a lovely, unique place to stay. It's beautiful and Nicky's hospitality was the best part - she was always reachable via text for any questions (and she was nice enough to welcome us with a bottle of Prosecco and call restaurants both evenings we were there so we knew where we could go and eat - both places were SO yummy as well). Visiting in February was not the best month (we had Storm Dennis raging around us and the weather was mostly terrible), but we were snug in the bothy, even if the heating was a little weird to regulate (even though Nicky clearly showed us how to use it, we kept over/under heating the place - our fault though!). Visiting when it's mostly good weather would definitely be divine - the long-ish drive from the main road in Broadford to the bothy was a little scary at times when there was heavy fog, but all OK if you drive slowly and carefully. It's amazing how thoughtfully Nicky has laid out the place - it's tiny, but has so many amenities and even some little games (which we took advantage of) and a kitchen. Highly recommended.

Bright, , not a drop of tartan in sight, a calm house with lots of space for 4, room enough for the children inside and a private garden for them to burn off energy,, for older kids and adults the land all around is open access, just remember its "working" land so you will share it with sheep!
Absolute silence, the constantly changing light on the water and mountains.
  • Beautifully fitted out, a great part of the island to be and an excellent host. Stay here.

  • Wow, what can I say? Grant's cottage was the most beautiful place I've ever stayed in. The cottage was beautifully decorated, views were unreal and there was everything you could need. Communication was brilliant all the way through. If you're lucky enough to visit the Isle of Skye book this stunning cottage, you won't regret it 😊

    Becky2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with stunning views. Carbost has a great little coffee shop and a local fish and oyster shop. House is very clean and warm. Loved our stay on Skye.

    Louise2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect. A wonderful hideaway in a great location.

    Alexander2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Grant's place on Skye is really lovely - cosy, warm and welcoming. There are amazing views from the living room to the hills opposite, loch and to the Cuillin, and lovely comfy chairs to enjoy it all from. The location is perfect, and there are nice places to visit in Carbost and nearby, and it is also a great base from which to visit the further places in Skye, knowing that you'll return to a warm cottage at the end of the day. Grant provided plenty of logs and kindling, and was very kind and responsive during my stay. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Skye. Thanks Grant!

    Lorna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great stay at Grant's place. We were there during Storm Dennis, which included there being a lightning strike which knocked the power out in the whole village for about 5 hours. Grant messaged straight away to check we were ok - we got the wood burner going and had a nice cosy evening by the fire! The house is lovely, really spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Had everything we needed, really good cooking equipment etc. Even though we were there when it was pretty cold outside, it was always lovely and warm when the heating was on or the fire was lit. We'd definitely recommend the cottage, and might look to come back again (maybe when there are fewer weather warnings out..!)

  • We enjoyed our night in this atypical and cozy accommodation. The environment is really very exotic! Thank you to our host for the advice given. Laetitia and David

  • My partner and I really loved this little bothy. It was clean and cosy (despite crazy winds overnight - thought we might've blown away Wizard of Oz style) in fact we had to turn the heaters off because we were getting too warm! Everything has been thought of to use the space to its advantage. A lovely little place and easy to find.

Also, to replace any broken appliances, it can take weeks for a delivery to happen. We will at all times try our hardest to rectify any issues but please bear with us as there can be issues due to location that are outwith our control. Cottage directions and key information are emailed approximately 14 days in advance of the arrival date.
  • This is a small place in a beautiful, though remote location. We really loved being there in all the peace and quiet, but you’d either need to want to spend time away from crowds or be willing to drive a lot. The place is comfortably equipped and as the weather was very rainy with high winds the whole time we were there, we appreciated the views and the solitude to sit indoors and read and stay dry! It wasn’t the week we’d planned, but Ewen’s Cottage was a wonderful place for us to relax.

  • Joan is definitely the BEST host I've ever met after staying in so many airbnbs. The room can't be cuter and warmer, and Joan herself just can't be more friendly, kind, and welcoming. She made grand breakfast for me and gave me food when I left (which helped me a lot). Many things today didn't go very well (fell in mud, missed bus..) and could turn out to be a bad day to me, but Joan's kindness helped me through. It was a home-like stay and it was lovely to meet Joan. Would recommend to everyone, Joan simply will take care of you so well! Thank you again!

Joan is a wonderfully warm and gracious soul who knows plenty about the area and will gladly share. Joan’s breakfast are nothing to scoff at - wake up hungry because she will definitely feed and fill your tummy! Sheets are clean, bathroom is clean, water is hot.

  • We had a lovely stay at the bothy. It wasn't quite the trip we imagined as it was the start of the covid pandemic so other than walks out in the open we had to stay inside. Thankfully the bothy was a lovely place to stay in so it wasn't too difficult to do. We just wish we were able to explore Skye a little more. Thanks Joanna. We hope to be back when this is all over.

  • We had a great stay at the bothy. The property was truly stunning and the location and the view were amazing. Joanna had thought of everything and we really enjoyed the small touches. The breakfast was really good and Lambikins was very friendly.

  • If you're considering booking a stay at Joanna's bothy - don't hesitate! It is absolutely perfect and will make your stay on Skye extra special. Joanna is probably the best AirBnB host we've ever experienced; she went above and beyond to make everything perfect including a wonderful welcome package of Scottish goodies including tunnocks tea cakes and smoked salmon. Super comfy bed with luxury linen, and the bath robes make it feel like a five star hotel. Special mention also to their pet sheep, Lamakins. What a character!! We'll definitely be booking again for out next trip to the island.

The Lodge is our most popular destination all year round. A wooden chalet with a woodburner at the end of the living room, ideal for a romantic get...
The Lodge was built by a local crofter in about 2006. The location was chosen as it is one of the most delightful on Skye for views and peace. Brother's point is a local beauty spot, on a clear day you can see across to the mainland across the sea and on a good day about 50-70 miles into the mountains. This is a great place to come as a couple, the living room is open plan to the kitchen and dining area with comfortable furniture and a woodburning stove at the end of the room. The kitchen is fully equipped with wooden work surfaces, washing and drying machine, dishwasher utensils etc. Equipped with free Wifi, sky TV, linen and sheets you won't want for very much when you get here. Well, maybe some more time to stay and enjoy it! The Lodge offers a certain something that makes people come back again and again.Perhaps it is the views, location, cosiness, quality throughout, who knows. We love it and are sure you will too. Pet Friendly - Pets are allowed in this property but they will be charged at £10 per night per pet to a maximum of 3 pets. We kindly ask if you can keep your pet off the furniture and beds for the duration of your stay. Must be crated or kenneled if left unattended, and must be on a current veterinarian approved flea & tick treatment.
  • Really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the lodge. It was my first time on Skye and it couldn't have gone any better!! There were plenty of books left in the accommodation on local walking routes which was a great touch and we used them to plan our daily walks. One great walk right from the doorstep of the lodge is 'Brother's Point' which could be done in all weathers (thankfully!). Its only a short drive to 'Old Man of Storr' and the 'Quiraing' - great location for exploring the Trotternish peninsula which seemed more accessible for inexperienced hill walkers during the winter months than the Cuillins for instance. Once you got the log fire going the place really heated up but could be cold in the mornings - but this didn't bother us - got us up and dressed quickly! The kitchen is kitted out with everything you'd need to make your own meals and we used it every night bar one where we ventured into Portree. We can't wait to return to Skye!! Martin & Mhari

  • The Lodge is simply beautiful. Huge big bed to snuggle up from the cold in. Lovely lounge area to relax, okay cards, watch movies and cuddle up with a glass of wine. Thanks for our welcome bottle!!! Great kitchen space to prepare all our meals and lovely dining area to eat in. Washing machine and dryer to clean clothes after exploring Skye. Hot shower, warm throughout with added bonus of Log Burner with plenty fuel to keep us toasty all evening. Beautiful location close to Portree for supplies. Couldn’t of been more perfect! Once our kids are all grown up we’ll be spending Christmas & New Year here together! Thanks for having us.

  • This was such a cute cottage! My fiance and I couldn't get over how cute the space was and how beautiful the view was! We loved waking up to sheep in the yard and looking over the rolling hills of Scotland! The wood stove kept us warm and cozy! It was great having a kitchen to cook ourselves meals in as well. If we ever come back to Scotland we would love to stay here again!

  • A great location for exploring Skye, very welcoming host and a lovely relaxing atmosphere inside the house, we enjoyed coming back to a warm and comfortable home every day we spent on the island.

  • What a lovely place. Near Quiraing and other wonderful places to visit in Skye. The house is so cosy ! It was really easy to communicate with Ellen. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the post card and the cookies left by Ellen. The house has everything you need. A little bit cold but I totally recommend it. Unfortunately we had to leave one night before because of the COVID-19, Ellen totally understood and refunded us the night! Thanks again Ellen, everything was perfect!

  • Perfect for relaxing.

    Sebastian2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t hesitate in booking this place! Absolutely perfect location; close enough to Portree for amenities but far enough away to feel really secluded. Really close to all the best bits the north of Skye has to offer. The space is perfect for 2 with a dog. Lots of relaxing and warming up by the fire! Thank you!

    Riva2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay on Skye for a few days. It was a great location, we were able to explore all day and then come back and relax and make a nice dinner each night. It was such a cozy place, if we come back to Skye we would definitely stay here again!

    Amber2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay in Ellen’s bothy! We were in Skye for work and didn’t get to see as much of the place as we would of liked but it’s an excuse to to go back! The bothy was perfect for us especially as it meant we could relax and switch off from our phones and social media etc. It was comfy, had everything we needed and was in a fantastic location. We loved it ♥️

    Jane2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at Ellen's cosy bothy. Certainly didnt miss the telly- plenty of games and books to read. The wood burner was awesome after a chilly day out and Ellen was super helpful and friendly.

    Maxine2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Bothy is located on the west coast with a stunning backdrop of the Quaraing ridge. Unfortunately we had typical autumnal weather (gales and rain) but it did not affect our ability to appreciate location. The kitchen is very well stocked and the log burner puts out a surprising amount of heat which was much appreciated when it was blowing a gale outside. If you want a place to escape, this is the place for you.

    Clare2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen's bothy is an ideal base for exploring the Isle of Skye. Ellen was very helpful in our communications prior to our visit. We loved that the kitchen was so well equipped, loved our welcome treats and the log burning fire was gorgeous (we were really lucky with the weather but still used it every night because it was lovely to watch the flames)! Set at the base of the Quiraing and only a 15 minute drive to the Old Man of Storr, the location is brilliant. Top tip: go to the beach at Staffin and see the dinosaur footprints. It's a walkable distance from the cottage but we went in the car which took five minutes. We went at sunrise, and my partner chose that spot to propose to me! Truly a beautiful and magical place. Definitely recommend the Isle of Skye and Ellen's Bothy.

Whilst we hope that none of our guests experience issues during their stay, we do need to point out that due to the cottage's location on the Isle of Skye, some services can be tempermental and can take a lengthy delay to get resolved. Internet speed can be very slow and the service can fluctuate during the day and week. Mobile phone signal is very patchy on the Isle of Skye. Also, to replace any broken appliances, it can take weeks for a delivery to happen. We will at all times try our hardest to rectify any issues but please bear with us as there can be issues due to location that are outwith our control. Cottage directions and key information are emailed approximately 14 days in advance of the arrival date.

  • A fantastic property in an amazing location. Dawn was highly communicative, and the property was the perfect base to explore the Isle of Skye. I can't recommend staying enough!

    Jack2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Seasound cottage was a great place for our Skye adventures. It was warm and cozy with a nice dual facing wood stove (faces living area and also into kitchen). The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and the house boasted great views over the east coast of Skye. Finally, the close proximity to the Quiraing (practically right across the street from the access road) was great, as we did the hike there and love that area of Skye. We would absolutely stay here again!

    Ryan2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, beautiful and cosy home with good access to all the best hikes and areas of interest! The cottage is very well equipped, with a stunning wood burning stove and lovely views over the bay. Dawn was very communicative and helpful. We can’t wait to stay again!

    Julia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn has done an incredible job at making the cottage a place to feel at home, all while being such a beautiful tribute to the wonderful Isle in which it lays. The location is great - remote enough to feel as though you are in your own little bubble, but close enough to Portree and the attractions in Skye you made your trip to see. If you’re looking for a place to put your feet up on an evening, watching the sun set over the beach, heated by warmth of a fire with a glass of whiskey (or gin) in hand, we could not recommend Dawn’s place enough!

    Justin2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely and warm cottage surrounded by wooly sheep and great sea view which everyone should not miss out. We spent three nights here. It is superb clean, cozy and warm with great location to Quiraing and short drive to Fairy Glen. We will consider to revisit in future.

    TAWEI2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place exceeded expectations! The views are extraordinary, the local excursions (the beach, old mans storr, mountain hiking, etc) helped make the days go by fast, and the home itself is quite cozy and stylish. Perfect place for family to vacation. Dawn was a great host by responding very fast and even leading a little welcome basket in the kitchen! Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to see the Isle of Skye.

Our pods are in an elevated position giving our guests (as far as the eye can see) panoramic views of the Trotternish Ridge, from the Quiraing across Bein Edra and on to the Storr, guests also have a magnificent sea view taking in Staffin beach the island of Rhona and over to the mainland to Gairloch and Torridon. Nearby there are: two restaurants, with table licence and a hotel which is open to non-residence. 2 well stocked shops, one offers takeaways.
There is a small double bed with linen provided and a sofa bed which sleeps one adult or two small children If required bedding is provided. The shower room has a small electric shower, wash basin and toilet. There is a small dinning table with chairs. There is no hob/cooker or sink in the pod, they are equipped with, fridge, microwave, kettle toaster and crockery. outside on the decking there are table and chairs for guests to sit out.
Storr View Pods are located in the small crofting community of Digg, approximately 2 Miles from the village of Staffin. Staffin is an excellent location for touring the North of the island and is a must for keen hill walkers or climbers with the famous Quiraing Mountain, which you have an excellent view from your pod. Near by, and equally famous, Is the Storr, which is the highest point on the trotternish peninsula The Storr is a collection of Basalt pyramids, the most impressive Is the Old Man, at 160ft it can be seen for miles. If hill walking isn't your thing, there are many more gentle walks were you can enjoy the tranquillity of the island and enjoy the wild flowers and the wildlife, There are a couple of small grey sandy beaches for you to enjoy and If its a low tide and its not covered in sand you might be able to find the dinosaur foot print of the three toed Hadrosaur. During your stay at the pods we suggest you take a drive along the coastal road to the village of kilmuir where you can enjoy more sea and mountain views, with views over to the Outer Hebrides. well worth a visit is the Skye Museum of life which consists of several thatched cottages showing what life was like for crofters in years gone by. Just beyond the museum is Kilmuir Cemetery, where the Jacobite Heroine Dame Flora MacDonald is buried. She risked her own life to help Charles Edward Stewart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) from capture after his defeat at the battle of Culloden.
  • The accommodation by Angus and Donna is a nice place to stay for visiting Isle of Skye. Their glamping pods provide everything that one can possibly need. I'm astonished by how well Angus and Donna thought about the design and the equipment of their pods. It seems like they had a plan of every little detail before they even began to built the pods. I do also want to thank Angus and Donna for their amazingly nice hospitality. Angus checked me in at about 11:30pm and (although he negated that), I had the feeling that he only stayed awake for us. He also gave us important and helpful tips on what to do on Isle of Skye. And most importantly I want to thank him for helping me when I had a problem with my car. This is far more that one can expect from a normal host.

    Tobias2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is probably the best place to stay on Skye! A cosy, quiet pod with a lovely view! Even though it is tiny, you will have everything you need. The heater kept us warm and the complementary breakfast was great! We had some troubles with the WiFi at first due to the weather but Donna and Angus were very helpful and took care of the issue as quickly as possible. They were great hosts! We can definitely recommend to stay here! It’s a unique experience :)

  • Great location. Great views.

    Ryan2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We made glamping for the first time and were rewarded. Angus and Donna are nice hosts and the POD is cozy, clean and well equipped! A welcome cereal opened the nice arrival. In the POD you will find everything that is important after a long day of hiking. A small practical bathroom, a fridge for the food, kettle, microwave and enough cutlery to eat hearty meals. The beauty of the POD is the wood paneling in the interior. When it gets dark outside, things get really cozy in the POD. Grandios is the location of POD. In the back rises the mountains of Quiraing and from the glazed POD door you can see the coast. Book and enjoy!

    Lukas2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a treasure! The view from the pod is unbeatable, as well as its proximity to the sites. The pod itself is solidly made, and immaculately clean. It was cozy and comfortable, with all the amenities that you can think of. Definitely recommend to anyone staying on the Isle of Skye!

    Alina2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • First time glamping, great experience. The host's house sits behind the pods, but we have absolute privacy. There's another pod right next to ours but the sound installation is pretty good. The place has everything we need, the heater really kept us warm. Wifi is good, shower space is small but we didn't have any problem with it, the bed is comfy, couldn't ask for more!

    Yun2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Angus was a fantastic host. We enjoyed chatting with him and the amazing and unqiue pod. The location is little outside staffin making it more quiet. The views of the mountain and ocean is spectacular. Highly recommend.

  • Small, nice and comfortable room with bathroom just across the hall. There is a tearoom where an excellent breakfast is served (eggs, bacon, sausage ...). Great location to catch the ferry.

  • Cozy, clean tidy and comfortable.

  • Alan’s House was exactly as described, it’s in a great location and has all the amenities you could need. It’s really close to Staffin which has a great wee shop if you forget anything and also not far from a petrol station. The communication is great and we were given superb instructions for finding the property and gaining entry. It’s absolutely perfect for a stay in Skye and really great value - will absolutely consider this if we return to Skye.

    Nicky2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is as advertised and the view out the living room was well worth the stay on its own.

  • Alan’s house has everything you need after a long day exploring Skye. We are a family of 4 and stayed comfortable in the cottage. Thank you Katherine😀😀

  • This neat, tidy property is in a great location with a wonderful view of the bay, especially in the early morning sunlight, and within easy walking distance of the beach. It made a great base to explore Skye's Trotternish peninsula, including Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls, the Quiraing, and the stunning viewpoint at Duntulm looking towards the Outer Hebrides.

  • The location is great, both to enjoy the house with the amazing view and also to get around Skye. It's very close to the Old Man of Storr (which is a must see!) and Portree, which has shops and amenities. Most of the major highlights are within an hour's drive or less, which is good for Skye. The house is lovely and has most everything you will need

    Marie2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is, truly, adorable. There were three of us and we felt like we had plenty of room to spread out, yet the cottage still felt cozy. We loved all of the home-y touches, especially the extra blankets since the weather was so cold! You can tell that everything included in the cottage was well thought out. The kitchen was well stocked with any kind of pot/pan/dish you could need to prepare meals (we cooked all of our meals). There was also any kind of glass you could need for whatever beverage tickles your fancy. It was also very clean! The location was exactly what we were looking for - remote, but not too remote. We were very close to most of the hikes and sights that we wanted to see. The views from the cottage were beautiful and we loved watching the sunrises in the mornings. We would definitely stay again.

  • The Driftwood Cottage is the perfect getaway for some wonderful family time and some rest and relaxation. My family was quite content to stay home and make wonderful family memories. The property was carefully thought of, having what you need to be comfortable. This kid-friendly cottage was a home away from from home. I personally love the beach theme! The electric kettle and toaster are adorable! And, it has a full separate washer and dryer! Not one of those 2in1 thingies. My favorite time of the day was waking up early and seeing the amazing view from the kitchen while preparing breakfast. We went around Scotland and Staffin was my favorite part of the trip because of this cottage. The tips of places to see in Staffin by the owner was so useful! It was our guide to see what this seaside town had to offer and everything was so close! Our kids absolutely loved An Corran Beach where we searched and found dinosaur footprints. The magnificent Mealt and Lealt Falls and Kilt Rock are also closeby and blew us away, not to mention seeing the Old aman of Storr on the drive to and fro Staffin was such a treat! I wish every Airbnb stays are like this. We felt like we were driving up into a postcard. Just beautiful! We have beautiful family memories here. Make the extra drive from Portree. It’s worth it! Thank you Sally!

  • Beautiful, stylish and homely cottage by the sea... the huge kitchen/dining area is the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the Isle of Skye and its ever-changing weather!! Pristinely clean, spacious and all-round lovely. We were sad to leave and definitely hope to return one day.

  • The Driftwood Cottage had by far the most stunning view I experienced while travelling around Scotland. The cottage had a nice, airy, clean feel that created a feeling of absolute peace. I wish I could have stayed longer. I will most definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Scotland. I HIGHLY recommend!

Cosy, comfortable, peaceful wee hut for 2 on a family-run croft at the foot of the Quiraing. 15 minutes drive to Storr and Rubha Huinish walks and 30 minutes to Portree. Close by are 2 shops, 1 of which has fuel pumps. You'll have your own parking, private deck and shower room as well as tea&coffee making facilities and a well-stocked welcome pack for your first night but most importantly uninterrupted views over the bay to the mainland with only our sheep as neighbours.
Our wee hut is...well...wee! It is a bedroom and bathroom only, with room for 2. But it is light and airy with the wall facing the sea made up of 2 big windows and a glass door. The bedroom has a comfy double bed with views overlooking Staffin bay and the mainland in the distance. In the bedroom is a portable dvd player, tea&coffee making facilities and a drop leaf table as well as 2 fold-out chairs tucked away under the bed for when you need them. We also offer free Wi-Fi. Through the sliding wood door is the neat little en-suite with power shower and a small sink as well as underfloor heating for the colder months! Outside is a lovely wee deck nestled into the hillside where you can sit and relax with only our cat and sheep for neighbours. If you're lucky in winter, you can also catch the Northern Lights! There are no cooking facilities in our Hut although there are plenty of wonderful places to eat out just a short drive from us, in Portree, and we welcome guests to bring camp stoves. We provide all bedding, towels and toiletries. We, however, do not provide a hairdryer and do not offer a daily cleaning service. Also note that we are 20 miles North of Portree. Coming here will require a 30 minute drive from Portree. We are situated on a small working croft away from the hustle and bustle of busy Portree, in the middle of nature.
Glasphein is a peaceful, remote township within the village of Staffin, 20 miles North of Portree. We are at the foot of the famous Quiraing and 2 miles from Staffin beach where you can find dinosaur footprints! The Old Man of Storr is a 15 minute drive and you'll pass it on the way here if you're coming from Portree. Rubha Huinish walk is also a 15 minute drive, heading North - a beautiful walk with a bothy at the end to sit and whale watch - stunning! A few busses pass daily with 2 bus stops a very short walk from the Hut.
  • Emma’s Skye hut is an amazing little place in a fantastic location. The hut is cosy and Emma’s little touches make it very homely. Views are amazing and it’s very peaceful and tranquil. We are already planning a return trip later on in the year.

    Jackie2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Can't say enough about how wonderful our stay here was - the location was remote enough to see the stars at night but still be a good base to visit all the attractions on the Isle of Skye. Emma ensured the Hut was cozy and inviting despite our late arrival and was attentive and communicative the entire time. It was wonderful waking up to the sheep outside and they also have the sweetest, friendliest cat. Would definitely stay here again!

    Diana2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t regret staying here! It’s an adorable, homey space, and Emma is wonderful host. She checked in on us and responded so quickly. Absolutely perfect and was plenty warm despite the winterish weather we had. We can’t wait to come back!!!

    Louis2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were the last guests of the year at Emma’s Skye Hut and we absolutely loved it! The little hut is very stylish with nice touches! My personal favorite thing was the sheep are right outside (they’re fenced in) your door. The sunrise is gorgeous as well. Highly, HIGHLY recommend!

Fully equipped, luxuous with an heated floor in the bathroom and an heated blanket on the bed. The view itself is stunning and could make you stay all day instead of visiting the isle. We will come back, one day

Overlooking kilt Rock, set on the side of the inland Loch Mealt, this is an exceptional property. A completely restored, unique property even for...
A 2 bedroom, completely restored property on the shore of Loch Mealt. This has been a labour of love for those involved in the project. Unique in Skye. In a great place to see the Aurora Borealis if it is active. Fully equipped kitchen: Washer dryer, dishwasher, oven, hob, fully integrated fridge freezer and much more including a working fire place. Delightful views from both bedrooms and the bathroom over the loch to Kilt Rock viewpoint. A short distance from the Quiraing and just north of the Old Man of Storr, an ideal quiet place from which to explore Skye. A great place for families, romantic getaways, escapism! Not to be missed!
  • Cottage was all we hoped for and more - beautiful location - beautifully renovated - lovely and warm. Just perfect !!

    Andy2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • I'm going to quote other people here: The pictures do not do the home justice. From start to finish, when we were sadly waving bye to the house, communication with the host was smooth and they were quick to reply to any questions (and not mock me for how silly some of them were). The property itself has two lovely bathrooms, all have modern facilities and the bath on the second floor is to die for. There is plenty of space in both bedrooms. The kitchen/dining area is cosy and the hosts provide you with dishwasher tablets/laundry tablets/kitchen roll/oil etc. Little things that I'd taken up "just in case" were no longer needed and stayed in the boot of the car. A great way to wind down was to get the other half to pop the wood burning fire on, get a cuppa or a glass of wine and just watch the sky change outside. I really can't say anything negative. Thank you again for making this a wonderful weekend!

    Louise2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is simply outstanding! Very well decorated and with great quality amenities... and an amazing lake view! We've had some really bad weather during our stay but that was no problem at all. Communication with the host was really fast and easy. A truly recommended!

  • We found the Lochside Cottage the perfect place to stay. It is immaculately clean with every amenity that could be needed. While the pictures on the site are fantastic, the property is way better when seen. The location is outstanding and is perfectly situated in a secluded area by Loch Mealt, but close enough to the highway to get the day started touring the isle. The hosts are very attentive and always available.

  • Judith was a wonderful host, meeting us at check-in and making the arrival process go smoothly. Her guest house is lovely and the apartment we stayed in was spotless and well equipped. We had everything we needed for our 2 days there. Would have planned a longer stay if we had more holiday time! The view from the apartment we stayed in was absolutely stunning. There is much to explore in the area with several mountain trails to hike, all a short drive from Staffin House. Our time here was the highlight of our holiday in Scotland and we would highly recommend Judith's place!

Skye is spoilt for stunning landscapes but we think the expansive views from Osdale Byre, together with its location tucked under Macleod’s Tables, makes it a very special place. It is reached via a farm track, offering guests a sense of peace and isolation, yet it is only a 10 minute drive to Dunvegan. The stone-built Byre offers characterful, open-plan accommodation of high quality that is also pet-friendly.
The Byre is a great location for families and friends to spend time together. The kitchen is a large, sociable space with both casual seating and a dining table. Equipped to a high standard and with a range cooker it’s a pleasure to cook here, but it’s also lovely to sit by the huge windows and admire the views towards the Cuillin ridge and watch the local wildlife. The kitchen leads into the double-height living room that has a magnificent wood burning stove to keep you cosy when the evenings draw in. There is also a boot room that’s perfect for muddy boots and dogs after the day’s activities and underfloor heating throughout the downstairs. There is one bedroom downstairs that has an en-suite shower room and another bedroom upstairs. Both bedrooms have very comfortable, hotel-standard beds that can be used as either doubles (super king) or twins. Outside there is a BBQ and seating for sunny days. The Byre sits in a large plot that is fenced off from the surrounding farmland. Other than Osdale Farmhouse, which sits about 80 metres away, you have no one else around you. It’s a great location for walking, watching the wildlife and just enjoying a little time away from the world. However, all that Skye has to offer is close by. The world renowned Three Chimneys restaurant is 10 minutes away by car and award winning Edinbane Lodge and Lochbay are also within an easy drive. Dunvegan Castle, Coral Beach, Neist Point and the Fairy Pools are all within a 45 minute drive too.
The Osdale cottages location is truly unique, tucked under Macleod's Tables. These flat-topped mountains dominate the landscape of North West Skye and together with the expansive views from Loch Dunvegan across to the Cuillin ridge, offer an awe inspiring place to spend some time. Other than Osdale Farmhouse, there are no other properties close by so there is a real sense of peace and seclusion. However, it’s just a short car ride to shops and places to eat in Dunvegan and Glendale.

  • Eva & Mike are amazing hosts. Apart from having a great and cozy place they were very helpful when we came back soaking wet from a rainy hike in the mountains. Moreover we got many local recommendations and enjoyed breakfast with homemade jams, which gave our experience a final great touch.

  • Mike and Eva were welcoming and nice. We had a lovely stay at their place. It has proper heating and everything is quite clean. I recommend passing by their place if you are on the island.

  • Wow wow wow. We cannot say enough how much we loved our stay at Eva and Mike's. The moment we arrived we were welcomed in and felt at home. The space was beautiful and clean, the location second to none and the company was perfect. We came to Eva and Mike based on the recommendation of a friend, and we extend that recommendation to others. Hands down the best Airbnb experience we have ever had. We hope to return to Skye one day so we can stay here again!

  • Mike and Eva were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Their house was in an amazing location for us. Very short drives to Old man of Storr and the Quiraing. We enjoyed their company as much as their house. Eva provides a great breakfast! Would definitely recommend staying here.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Eva’s and Mike’s warm and welcoming home! They both were wonderful hosts and were extremely helpful in recommending places to visit on the island. They also serve a tasty breakfast every morning! The room is very comfortable and clean, and the house in general was the homiest place we stayed on our whole trip. We would highly recommend staying here!
