The cottage is lovely and exactly what we‘ve been searching for. It’s so cozy and calm and the ocean is just a minute away. The fridge was filled with fresh eggs and milk when we arrived and we had everything we needed to cook with. Thank you Gilly for making us feel at home at your place!

  • This place was so beautiful and everything was absolutely perfect. Gilly is super friendly and helpful.

    Heather2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Gilly's cottage is a quiet, clean, spacious and calming place. Couldn’t have been better. It was cosy and equipped with everything we needed. Gilly was very helpful and the location was great (very close to the sea) with lots of very good hikes around.

    Alexandre2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is cosy and set on such beautiful landscape. Gilly has provided every touch you can think of. Beds are super comfy! Perfect for a relaxing stay in West Cork!

    Julia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Gilly's home is located on a beautiful hill just minutes walk to gorgeous beaches with vast vistas. It is a spectacular setting and is located just a short drive to the charming town of Clonakilty which has many shops and restaurants. The cottage is beautifully appointed with tasteful decor and art. Dunmorley is a must for anyone wishing to have a quintessential Irish country experience.

    Teresa2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful old, stone cottage set in the rolling green countryside of Southern Ireland! Thank you Richard and Gilly!

    Kami2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Dunworley Cottage was the perfect place for our Christmas holiday. Spectacular views of rolling green farmland surrounds the cottage and the view of the sea at the end of the driveway will take your breath away. The short walk to the water is a must! Gilly was a gracious host and her extra touches like Christmas lights in the cottage were so special.

    Suzanne2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect stay at Gillys place! This is such a special location with Dunworley being the perfect spot to take advantage of it. A VERY short walk from beautiful beaches and lots of options to walk the countryside also. The cottage was beautifully decorated, warm and cozy, well stocked with everything we needed to cook and clear instructions throughout. For any foodies there are a number of great restaurants nearby that Gilly was really helpful advising us on, but we would fully recommend booking Gillys cooking in advance, which is cooked using her own organically grown food and is just absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!

    Shelley2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Gilly's lovely cottage is located in a stunning area on the coast! The beds we incredibly comfy and warm and the whole place was incredibly clean. Gilly and Richard prepared an amazing dinner, all sourced from their garden and local farmers. I would recommend a stay at Gilly and Richards, if you enjoy beautiful scenery and good fresh food.

    Clonakilty, Co. Cork, Ireland

This cute and quirky cottage overlooks the ancient holy well of St. James on the Wild Atlantic Way in the tiny village of Ardfield. The cottage, part of a barn conversion, is small but charming with lots of old wood, vintage stuff and charming hosts! Ardfield is just 4 rambling miles from Clonakilty, which has loads of restaurants and pubs with live music. It's perfect for a couple or a family with small children (not 4 adults!)
The cottage is part of a barn conversion along with Seascape Cottage. Holy Well Cottage overlooks the Holy Well of St. James, an natural spring that once was the main water supply for Ardfield Village. The compact cottage consists of sleeping quarters downstairs, with a small double bed which has an adjoining shower room and bunk room. The bunks are compact, so are not suitable for BIG adults!
Ardfield, just over 4 miles from Clonakilty, is remote and beautiful, but lively too with it's own festival that happens in the first week of August. Sitting out on a peninsula in the Atlantic Ocean, with the Galley Head lighthouse at it's tip. Ardfield is surrounded by beautiful beaches - big and small - great for surfing, swimming, sand castle building or just a beautiful walk. There's lots of wildlife and heritage about too. There are salt water marshes ideal for bird watching, along with rugged cliffs for spotting costal birds. There are lovely heritage seaside towns to visit, like Kinsale, Clonakilty, Glendore and Baltimore. There are heritage centres in Kinsale, Bandon, Clonakilty and Skibbereen. For those with an interest in Irish history there is lots to learn about the Famine in West Cork, and to find out about Michael Collins, who was born just down the road in Woodfield and worked and lived in Clonakilty. In Ardfield there is a lovely new playground with lots of fantastic climbing frames, swings and a zip wire. O'Sullivan's Mountain House pub is lively and in the summer does coffees and toasted specials during the day (toasted specials are an Irish delicacy - a toasted sandwich with ham, cheese, onion and tomato). Holy Well Cottage is a great option for people attending weddings at Dunmore House Hotel. And for those of you not attending a wedding there, it's worth for the food and the view! It is also a good option for those attending weddings at Inchydoney Island Lodge and Spa.
  • This cozy cottage is a piece of local history and an easy drive to Clonakilty town once you learn the way from Mountain House pub. It's also a lovely walk to two beaches: Red Strand and Sandscove, where you can swim or watch wildlife and explore. Ask Rosie about the music in town, including the weekly session she's part of.

    Mary2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We found a tiny sweet house at Rosies B&B. It all was as expected. It is the perfect place to calm down. The coast in this part of Ireland is very beautiful. In our appartement we had everything we need to care for ourselves, there was even an oven to feel cosy. Really a heartwarming place!

    Arlena2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful weekend away from it all. Cosy and compact.

    Aoife2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts with much local knowledge of the area. Comfortable accommodation in a beautiful part of Ireland. Highly recommended. ****

  • Dear Rosie and Mike, we had a great time in your little “Doll House”. Thank you for the welcome package of butter, self baked bread and milk. You gave us a lot of good tips for our stay and possible visits in West Cork. We enjoyed our last evening together you and the best Irish Coffee we ever had. If possible we will come back in the next years.

    Mario2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Rosie & Michael are very fun hosts & interesting to talk with. Their knowledge of local history is outstanding. This is a beautiful area of Ireland and they had excellent suggestions on where to go (and pubs!) The trip to Clonakilty to listen to local musicians, including Rosie, play traditional music was especially fun. We stayed in the converted barn. There were 3 adults and we had enough room. The place is quite charming & very quiet & peaceful.

    Janine2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beatifully situated! If you want to get away from the touristy fuss, this is your place. Tiny but cosy. And you are welcomed by an adorable couple, Rosie and Mike: the top of Irish kindness and hospitality. The surroundings are absolutely stunning and the pub in Ardfield serves delicious food. Service is also very friendly. We hope to come back some day!

This unique tiny house is an inviting & creative space, located along the Wild Atlantic Way - exactly 1/2 way between the 2017 Urbanism award winning town of Clonakilty and the renowned beach Inchydoney which is known for being one of the most beautiful and relaxing beaches in West Cork. Built using native Douglas fir & surrounded by trees, the cabin is located on the grounds of a small residential home where guests will have their own separate outdoor decking and privacy.
The Cabin looks across the Clogheen Marsh so the following extract from birdwatch Ireland might be of interest to our guests! "Clonakilty comprises two estuaries separated by Inchydoney Island. The northern area is Clonakilty Harbour with estuarine mud and sandflats. Cul de sac pool, an area of open water and reedbed, with a fringe of alder woodland, is part of this area. The southern area is Muckross Strand, again an estuary with mainly sand flats. There are two areas of marsh with patches of exposed mud and marsh; White's Marsh and Clogheen Marsh lying to the north and west of Muckross Strand. Generally wintering waders and wildfowl but particularly Black-tailed Godwit, Bar-tailed Godwit, Curlew, Golden Plover, Wigeon, Shelduck, Dunlin, Oystercatcher, Redshank, Greenshank and Knot."
We live 1.8km outside Clonakilty town heading out the Ardfield road. Our house is surrounded by fields, trees and a marshland. When the tide is in you can see the sea in the distance from the cabin and we have a neighbour next door as well as across the road.
  • Peters cabin is a lovely built wooden cottage. Quaint, close enough to the beach and Clonakilty while still being out in the fields is fantastic. Hospitality is great, but the quality of the cabin itself was unreal.

  • Lovely space with everything you will need. The different coffee and tea options with breakfast was a nice touch. Very close to town and Joe had some perfect suggestions for music and drink in town. The hosts were so accommodating when we arrived a couple hours earlier than we anticipated. We would stay here again when we are in the country.

  • Really enjoyed our stay at The Bothy for a relaxing time after Christmas. The cottage is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean throughout. Our hosts were extremely polite and available for anything we needed. Mark provided numerous recommendations for local walks and places to eat. The Fish Basket is great for a spot of lunch and DeBarras Pub for a well deserved pint of two! We would highly recommend staying at The Bothy and were thankful for our hosts generosity in providing wood for the stove when needed.

  • Highly recommended. The cottage is really well kitted out, clean, warm, cosy and with a magnificent view. Of course the main feature is that you are on the beach in seconds. We (family of 3) loved it. One of the bedrooms is very child-friendly btw. Sam is a great host, very responsive and made us feel very welcome. We’ll be back!

  • The perfect getaway, with everything you could need along with some lovely personal touches. Simply fabulous!

    Lucy2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend the cottage for a number of reasons. Most important, the setting is spectacular, the photos don’t even do it justice! Secondly, the house has lots of genuine character, and is nicely decorated. Third, there were lots of food amenities like a coffee machine and a fully stocked cereal cupboard. Last, but not least, Sam was a great host. We never met him, but the self check in and check out was seamless, and we really appreciated the food and drink left out for us. A very nice touch.

    Conor2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sam’s place was absolutely incredible! The views were spectacular, the home was comfortable and welcoming, communication was great, I really can’t say enough positive things! I highly recommend staying at Sam’s!

  • Stay here. Nan's place is lovely. Besides having everything we needed, including a french press to make coffee, the location in the heart of Timoleague made it easy for us to explore the town. The back garden had two lovely patios one with a view of the estuary and the friary whih was beautifully lit at night. The location is perfect for exploring the coast and the "wild atlantic way." The beds were nothing fancy, but comfortable. The indoor fireplace kept us warm.

    Laura2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This house is very nice and comfortable, with a lot more space than it looks in the pictures. Just down the street from a beautiful and historic abbey, and in easy reach of the other sites in Cork. Our hosts were super friendly and helpful.

The sleeping space was a great value for the money and the hospitality was greatly appreciated. She introduced me to folks in the pub and went out of her way to make me feel at home. I would definitely stay again if I found my way back to Clon.

We are near some great music venues, restaurants, cafes and the beach is only about 4 kilometers from here. Clonakilty is a very pretty town. There are wonderful flower displays over many of the businesses in town. There is a statue of Michael Collins in Emmet Square and a museum in his honor.
  • This was my second time staying with Maura. I highly recommend her BNB to anyone. Her friends and locals in the pubs are very welcoming and make you feel right at home. Her place is within walking distance of nearly everything and taxis are available during the day should you need a drive out to the country.

  • We stayed at Maura's place for the marathon weekend in November. It is a fantastic location in the centre of Clonakilty. The bedroom was lovely and the toilet / showering facilities were good. It was great to have access to the small kitchen at the back of the pub to be able to prepare breakfast and dinner. Maura was very hospitable and made us feel at home right from the start. Our room was two floors up from the pub and despite there being live music on we could not hear a thing from our room. The bar does smell a little smoky which did not bother us too much at the time but noticed afterwards. There are three guest bedrooms in the pub and it was nice to meet the other people staying there who were all taking part in the marathon too. All in all I would thoroughly recommend Maura's place as a good value, homely place to stay. Thank you Maura!

  • Nice place, great location

    Natalie2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Maura’s pub for four weeks and would absolutely stay there again. She, the other staff, and regulars helped make my stay warm and friendly. The room and bathroom are clean, the bed comfortable, located on the third floor well away from the hubbub of the pub. Good WiFi. Con and Maura’s is close to the main street of Clonakilty, a minute walk to DeBarra’s, with easy walks to grocery stores and local restaurants. I cooked a lot of my own meals in the kitchen — it’s easy to be a vegan eater here. No trouble finding parking on the street nearby.

    Carol2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Maura is an amazing host! The bedrooms are just above a cozy local pub which she runs and where there is live music in the weekends. You are welcome there and it’s feeling like home. Maura is also so good in getting people together and I’ve been able to share a day out with another guest at the bnb. The room is clean and quite, the bathroom is shared but clean. It has been one of the best Airbnb I’ve been into, I’ll definitely come back!

  • Came back to Carol and Denis place 1 year after my first visit and it was still as amazing as I remembered. Very welcoming hosts and stunning house and views. Thanks a million

    Fanny2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Carol and Denis have a lovely home with spectacular views of the sea and their hospitality is beyond compare. My cousin Molly and I have never stayed with such genuinely nice folks before. We felt like extended family by the end of our two day stay! Their attention to detail in our bedroom and en suite was over and above, they supplied us with extra outlet adaptors, snacks, teas, toothbrushes and several quality toiletries. Denis took us on a a long nature walk along the shore with their three adorable dogs after we first arrived. Then we were recommended to a local restaurant and we were drawn a very specific map on how to get there. The next morning we enjoyed a home cooked frittata, fresh fruits, tea and toast. We unfortunately had a little car trouble later on and they again went over and above our expectations in their helpfulness. We were able to go kayaking for a short bit, and watch a movie to relax after a long and very stressful day. The following morning we had another great meal then were driven to our bus by Denis in the pouring rain, right before Lorenzo came thru. If you're visiting this area of Ireland we cannot recommend their home enough! Molly and I are both definitely coming back some day!

    Rachel2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for two nights this September and enjoyed our stay tremendously. The house is situated directly at the sea and the view from our room and the breakfast table was wonderful. The room was nicely furnished, cozy and comfortable and you can actually see the sea from the bed. Carol and Denis welcomed us warmly with a drink and we had great and interesting conversations, so we felt more like friends than mere guests. Their three dogs were just lovely and so sweet and funny. we enjoyed their company very much, they even joined us for a walk at the beach. Carol prepared a very good breakfast for us. Their place is definitely a good choice as a getaway from a stressful citylife! We would have loved to stay longer!

    Sandra2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Words can’t even describe the beauty of this place. We were welcomed right in by Carol and Denis and their 3 fur babies :) The local tips for everything from where to eat and where my fiancé could surf, were all spot on! The view is breathtaking and as my fiancé put it, he “slept like he was on marshmallows between the super comfy bed and the sound of the waves crashing.” You won’t regret staying here. Spotless room, generous breakfast and wonderful company! Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Jenn2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • A combination of English and Irish charm that will leave you wondering can people be this nice. I have to really dig deep to find fault with any aspect of the experience at their home. Therefore, I will only say that if your travels lead you to West Cork, it's a no-brainer staying with Carol and Denis.

    Michael2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place is astonishing, great view and location. The bed room is comfy and well equipped. Carol and her dog are even better. She is lovely and give good advice for stuff to do. The breakfast is also very nice. I greatly recommend this place.

  • Carol and Denis are wonderful hosts and people! We enjoyed every moment of our stay at the amazing location right at the beach. The room and bathroom are very nice and the view is priceless. Carol prepared great breakfasts and Denis took us on walks, whalewatching and kayaking. We felt very welcomed and at home. We will definitely visit again!

  • We stayed at Owen’s place for one night and we’d happily stay again if given the chance.

    Scott2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Owen's place was fab! The room was super clean, spacious, modern, beds were really comfy, we had our own ensuite bathroom with shower. We were arriving a little later than the usual check-in time, so Owen left the key under the mat for us, and on acquiring a last minute guest with us on our way, he added an extra bed in the room for us. There was a lovely little friendly cat who welcomed us on arrival! The house is just a few minutes out of Clonakilty town, so was very handy for us, as we were there for a gig. We then drove to the amazing Inchydoney beach the next day which was just a ten minute drive. Great location! He was very quick in responding whenever I texted, nothing was a problem. A really great host and would definitely come back again. Thank you Owen! Sarah

Nestled in its own private corner of Wild Atlantic Way, in the heart of West Cork is our delightful Gate Lodge. Once the residence of the gatekeeper to Muckruss House which is now our home and family farm. The newly built lodge sits at the entrance to Muckruss House on the original site which dates back to the 16th Century. It is still very much part of local history which is why we have retained its historic charm while at same time creating an air of modern sophistication.
Your only neighbours at the Gate Lodge will be our herd of Dairy cows who graze the nearby paddocks, and can be found peeping over the ditch from time to time, otherwise barring the occasional tractor going about its daily business the neighbourhood is very quiet and peaceful. What is special about our location though is having the best of both worlds: less than a minutes walk and you will be surrounded by sea air and long sandy beaches. We are only minutes by car from the magnificent Inchydoney , while on this side of the water we have Dunmore, Duneen Strand, Red Strand, Long Strand and many more. Our local Hotel is award winning Dunmore House which is less than one km away, and a favorite for weddings and fine dining. We are only 4km for the vibrant town of Clonakilty which has so much to offer , in fact you will not want to leave.

  • Beautiful apartment. Great location. A real little gem

  • This is a really gorgeous place - stylish, spacious & central. All the convenience of a hotel with welcoming reception and a hearty breakfast included each morning while enjoying the bigger proportions of an apartment space with private access on the top floor & your own cooking facilities to boot. Recently renovated, everything was spotlessly clean & the second bathroom was an unexpected bonus. I would definitely return here & highly recommend the place to other travellers.

  • There is something very atmospheric, calming and life affirming about spending some time at Causeway Cottage - linked to the causeway, the island, the estuary, beach, the thousands of birds and the charm and warmth of the cottage itself........ it certainly has done the trick for us as we return to the busy world we all inhabit - thank you Pearse Jonathan & Vivienne

    Jonathan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Causeway cottage is a magical space in a magical town. My friend and I were looking for a rustic Irish experience, and we got it. Pearse was extremely responsive before and during our stay, and there were many thoughtful touches in the space. Clonakilty has been our favourite spot so far. ABC taxi driver Chris was incredible; we loved GG gin bar karaoke, dinner at the distillery, and mostly loved chatting with the locals. They were so helpful and eager to offer great tips during our stay. See you next time Clonakilty! Xx ;)

  • WONDERFUL cottage! Everything about it was so charming. It’s certainly small and rustic, but always felt very cozy and snug. Pearse was a great host - couldn’t properly check in as I was en route to a wedding but he left the keys for me and I had no issues getting in. Even left some fruit, bread, butter, and (of course) tea for the next day. Wish I could have stayed longer.

  • Very spacious house built to very high specifications and well equipped. No problems during our stay which easily accommodated 8 adults. Short walk to local pub which was very enjoyable.... road very dark but phone torches and helpful local giving us high vis jacket meant no problem. We arrived at 10pm but Rose had taken delivery of a super valu shop which was very helpful. We visited Timoleague, Clonakilty and Inchydoney, and my son and wife drove to Cork for a day...all easy to reach. Only 40 minutes from Cork airport so great location for a family weekend party. Would definitely recommend as a base for seeing this area of Ireland.

  • We had a great time at the house. The living space is vast so was very comfortable for the 7 of us. The kitchen is good for preparing meals and it has a large fridge. The house is very warm and we had constant hot water. The location is great with a good pub just 5 minutes walk if you don't fancy driving to other villages. Rose kindly gave us a contact for Cris who has a 9 seater taxi so it was easy to get to restaurants etc. All in all a great stay and we hope to return in the future.

  • The members of New Ross Drama Workshop travelled to compete at the All Ireland One Act Drama Festival finals in Rossmore and selected this property and could not have asked for more in it. From our initial correspondence with Rose to our departure there was not a hitch. The house was amazing, and made a most beautiful haven for us over the weekend. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to have a base in Clonakilty. The rooms are so spacious and no stone left unturned in their design and of course the highlight of the house in the kitchen, sitting and dining area which is absolutely super for a group gathering. Thanks so much to Rose and the team at the house for the warm welcome, sense of trust and care afforded to us during our stay. . Mile gra! Ps-We won the All Ireland!! So she has all ireland winners staying there!

  • Spectacular accommodation, I would recommend without a doubt, it is new and is very cozy, do not miss it ......

  • Lovely stay in the lush green countryside. Communal living areas spacious and well equipped. Exceptionally clean and a great base to explore west cork, a car is needed. Only draw back for us was only one large bed and as a tall family (6foot plus) this made sleeping a tad uncomfortable at times. We would stay again and would recommend!

    Gemma2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful new home with amazing views. Lots of open space, the interior of the house is beautifully finished and offers real luxury. Spotlessly clean, super comfy beds with quality towels and linen provided. Nespresso machine and coffee pods were a highlight for us! Rose was a great host and the touches that she made were really personal. Great location for exploring West Cork and beyond. Nice easy drive to and from Cork airport too. Close to Incheydoney beach which is just beautiful. We had such a great stay and can't wait to come back! The only downside was 4 nights wasn't long enough!

The traditional cottage is situated 10 minutes away from Clonakilty town by car. You can enjoy a direct view of the Atlantic. In front of the house is a small garden with bench. This 150 year old cottage is very cozy and has many traditional elements combined with modern interiors and decorations. Within walking distance are small beaches. Enjoy the peace of nature!
The cozy cottage has 2 floors. On the ground floor is the living room as well as the kitchen with a seating area and an open fireplace. In the upper floor are 3 bedrooms as well as 2 bathrooms - one with shower and one with bath (adjacent to one of the bedrooms). Each room can accommodate up to 2 people. The kitchen is fully equipped and has washing machine with integrated dryer, dishwasher, oven with hob and crockery, pots, pans e.g. Wireless internet is not available.
Clonakilty is a lively, very authentic pretty little town. There are many pubs with live music of various types. 15 minutes by car you will find Inchydoney Beach - the number 1 of all Irish beaches. Here you can go swimming and surfing or simply go for a walk and afterwards enjoy a fish soup in the nearby Spa Hotel.
  • Great view, great cottage with a lot of charm - lovingly furnished. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the garden and the proximity to the beach. We will definitely come back in a summer.

  • Such a beautiful house in the most amazing part of our country. From beautiful walks during the day to roaring fires in the evening. I'm already planning my next visit !

  • We had the most amazing stay. The house is in the most beautiful setting and so beautifully decorated. We will definitely be booking to come back!

  • This wee cottage is the perfect base for exploring west Cork. Providing all the amenities you would need for a comfortable stay whilst also giving stunning views and a location allowing you to get off the beaten track but also close enough to civilisation to be just right. The little Stove was a great focal point and gave off some heat. Access to the property was very easy and communication with the host was great for any questions we had. The recomendation of SuperValu as the supermarket to stop in on our way to the house was fantastic couldn't believe the choice in store. Thanks again Romana and Katie for a wonderful stay!

    Laura2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was gorgeous - views stretch across the countryside and out to sea. There's some lovely walks straight from the property - but it's also a short drive to more established walks and a lovely beach with dunes you can explore. The cottage itself was very stylish, clean and spacious - plenty of room for the four of us (two couples). There were nice touches like tea and coffee waiting for us on arrival. You'll definitely need a car as it's a 1.5 hour walk to the nearest shop. The property is a short drive (10 min drive) from a sweet town with a brilliant pub called De Barras where we watched some fantastic live music and danced the night away into the wee hours! We'll be back in summer! The perfect Irish holiday. 🇮🇪

    Lucie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this house - the walk down to the cliffs is magnificent. The house is so sweet with many wood finishes and IKEA furniture. Beware : they advertise correctly about the variable ceiling height. The head space was fine for myself and my daughter as we are 5 foot 4 inches, but my husband who is 6 foot 3 inches had 2 bad head bumps, despite my hanging toilet paper or tissues from all the low ceilings. I happened to bring painters masking tape to attach the tissues and toilet paper. The good thing for my husband was that the house calmed his allergies as it is quite clean and without rugs or carpets.

    Shirley2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house was just amazing - will definitely be returning.

    Johnathon2020-01-09T00:00:00Z

  • This accommodation is truly unique: Breathtaking views, spectacular sunrise and a lovingly thought-out cottage where you will never feel cramped despite the lack of space. There are great tips from Darragh. Thanks a lot!

  • Beautiful views, and fantastic little places nearby to visit!

    Ryan2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very compact place but worth it for the location and views. Everything is neat tidy, and works well. Pay close attention to Darragh's instructions on how to get there. It is not easy. Lot's to do in the area. We loved it.

    Martin2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is not very big but very nicely decorated and comfortable. The bed is a sofa bed easy to install. The cabin has an exceptional view of the coast and the sea and that is what makes all its charm! The terrace is just as nice. You can also walk to a small beach full of charm within 5 minutes. Very nice accommodation so!

  • Great place to stay, spectacular views and great base to explore West Cork. Can't fault it!!

    Peter2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible location. The views are truly spectacular, no amount of photography or short summary do it justice.   The cabin itself is beautifully well crafted with thoughtful touches and space maximised expertly. Any hesitation and apprehension we had beforehand on comfort or leisure quickly disappeared. Ample storage, shower, bed linen and kitchen facilities were equally fantastic. Hospitality was above and beyond expectations. Definitely returning in the near future.

    Sonia2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy accommodation. Top location for nature lovers. Clean decorated with care. I recommend

    Béranger2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the chalet went way above our expectations. The chalet has everything you could possibly need, the surrounding area and views are STUNNING, and, best of all, Darragh's family who live next door were very friendly and hospitable :) We didn't want to leave! I highly recommend the chalet for any couple looking for a romantic, peaceful getaway. Be sure to set your alarm to watch the sunrise from bed - you will NOT regret it! 5 OUT OF 5 STARS!!! Would rate it more if I could!

  • Caitlin’s Airbnb was incredible! Very cosy, spotless clean and central to the village. She was very helpful when we arrived and the touched she left around the property were so thoughtful. I can’t recommend Caitlin’s place enough!

    Robert2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Caitlin was the most outstanding host! She was waiting for us in the driveway of the stables when we arrived, and was very understanding of our delayed arrival time. When we entered the stables, the fire was lit and there were eggs, milk and butter in the fridge - not to mention the homemade bread and granola, which were delicious! Such a lovely touch which meant that we didn’t have to get up early the next day and go grocery shopping. Firestarters and lots of firewood were also included, and the cottage soon warmed up even in January! Everything was sparkling clean, and the stables look just as cosy and charming as the photos. The bed was really comfy and extra towels were provided. Caitlin has really thought of everything you might need: there were extra toiletries in the bathroom, and also high vis jackets, torches and umbrellas for walking down into Clonakilty. We have only good things to say about the stables and the host! Thank you for your incredible hospitality Caitlin! The stables were perfect for our wee getaway and we hope to return someday.

    Jenny2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I recently stayed at the Stone Stables for 3 nights and both absolutely loved it. We were met by Caitlin on arrival and she showed us around the accommodation, giving us a bit of local knowledge in terms of where to eat and drink (the home made bread she left was also a nice little touch). I would definitely recommend Caitlin’s place to anyone staying in West Cork for a few nights - fantastic value with lots of amenities set within a great location of Clonakilty.

    Steven2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • My husband & I had a wonderful stay over the Christmas holiday. Stone Stables is a cute cottage that’s close to town & has everything you need for a great getaway! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit & would recommend it to anyone who is coming to stay in beautiful Clonakilty.

    Brenda2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cosy cottage that has a really nice feel to the place. Decor and style are really suited to the place and feels very welcoming.

    Shane2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Stone Stables was absolutely amazing. The location is perfect - a short, easy walk into town. The cottage is cozy and inviting. We were left with wood for the fire and delicious homemade brown bread. Everything we could possible need was there, and I was so sad to leave! We would definitely stay here again next time we are in town. Actually, we might come back to Clonakilty just to stay there again!

    Meredith2019-11-03T00:00:00Z

10 mins from bustling Clonakilty, in West Cork, our self-contained cottage offers 3+ guests simple comfort in a rural setting. Comprising a large en-suite bedroom below an open plan living/eating space, with access to a small garden, & free parking
In a quiet, rural location, adjacent to our family home, we have converted an old grain store into a comfortable cottage. The upstairs living space is airy with a high pitched ceiling. It comprises a kitchenette (combi-microwave, 2 electric rings, kettle, toaster & fridge), eating area and sitting space with a sofa bed. It opens onto a small garden, accessed by steps both inside & outside. Downstairs is a large bedroom, which sleeps 3, with en-suite shower room. Washing machine available.
Having both grown up in England with Irish connections we relocated back to West Cork in 1999 and have lived in our present house since 2003. We love the area for many reasons but in particular the easy access to vibrant Clonakilty (10mins), the stunning West Cork coastline (15mins) and countryside, and Cork City & airport (40mins). The Wild Atlantic Way is on our doorstep ready for you to explore.
  • A lovely little cottage in a great location, just a few minutes drive to Clonakilty. I was there in winter, yet I was pleasantly cosy. Enough food for breakfast being provided was a lovely touch. Communication with the host was easy and quick, they even posted back my forgotten kindle!

    Fiona2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of a place to stay. A real cosy cottage with character. Kitty's welcome and extra touches (free range eggs, flowers, welcoming jam, butter and milk) were all so thoughtful and friendly. Very comfortable beds and hot showers. A great place to relax but so close to the beaches and Clonakilty town.

    sandra2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The grainstore is a lovely place to spend a couple of days just outside of Clonakilty. Kitty thought of everything we'd need such as your basics like towels and milk but other special touches too such as bagels and eggs (from the hens outside the door) for our breakfast. The location is very handy for Clonakilty and for neighboring towns. The grainstore itself is really cosy and my cousin had a lovely few days here.

    Maggy2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kitty was a fantastic host and my family and I had a great time and would really like to stay here again. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to base themselves in Clonakilty. The place was clean and had so many thoughtful touches throughout.

    Lorna2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely break at kitty's. The grainstore had everything we needed. Kitty was a fantastic host - quick communication and provided us with fresh eggs from her hens. Location is great for exploring clonakilty, the beaches and surrounding areas.

    Clare2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Such a magical place, the half door, a tresure chest and the radio my son is 5 and was so impressed. No tv or tablets for the weekend just adventure & exploring around. I loved going back to basics, we spent quality time together , it was wonderful.

    Cathy2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kitty’s farmhouse cottage is a delightful place to stay. It is nestled within a working farm with friendly dogs, curious cows, and rabbits that hop across the lawn. Kitty’s welcome was warm and generous .... flowers in the room, farm eggs and an apple pie welcomed us on arrival. It is exactly as advertised, functional and charming, and close to Clonakilty range of local activities. We had a great time!

  • Gail's place is everything you could wish for. We were on a weekend getaway with our kids and our dog to relax and take a break from living in Dublin. The place has the perfect size and is located in a quaint little village, a short walk from a lovely pub/restaurant. We were welcomed by Gail upon arrival and had some scones, cupcakes, milk, orange juice, jam and butter waiting for us. Her place has wifi, a toilet, a bathroom, as well as two bedrooms and a kitchen/living room with a big dining table, TV, DVD player, stereo and loads of DVDs and games. Will be back for sure.

  • Thank you so much Gail’s lovely cottage was very cosy & you she was a wonderful host. Lots of little extra touches, homemade biscuits, milk, butter etc & going the extra mile when our little lady was unwell. Very much appreciated. The place is very well looked after & really clean. Lots of toys & books on hand & ideal for our kiddies 6 & 10. Gail has lots of suggestions for places to eat & tang up to see availability before our arrival & also suggested lovely nearby beaches. We also left a very special bunny behind & she kindly put it in the post! She is an excellent host, very warm & welcoming & I would certainly recommend! Many thanks Gail! Much appreciated Paula

  • We had a really lovely stay at Gail’s place. Very cosy with an electric fire you could turn on if needed. We were a group of four adults and had plenty of space. The Mountain House Ardfield is an excellent restaurant that is only a few minutes walk away from the place — would highly recommend getting dinner there.

    Rosa2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 2 night stay here. Nice and cosy. Had everything we needed. Very clean. Lovely bread and butter when we arrived and all the basics you would need if you are cooking. Couldn’t of asked for anymore. Very friendly family pets, sweet little stumpy even came in for some rubs ❤️ would highly recommend. Thank you Gail! 😊

  • Stayed here with a group of friends and could not fault the place. Beautiful location, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Claire made us feel very welcome, would happily return.

    Fergus2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The location was beautiful.....pretty wild and overlooking the sea. It's worth noting that the house is directly opposite the main house which didn't effect our stay this time but isn't always what I'd want so just something to be aware of. Claire was lovely - came over to say hi when we checked in and came again when we were leaving. The house was very warm and the beds were very comfortable - so comfortable that my friend is still wondering where they were bought!! 🤣 Everything was spotlessly clean and the beautiful town of Clonakilty is not too far away (definitely driving distance though, not walking!) Overall, a very pleasant stay!

    Caroline2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house is clean, modern, everything you need was. When we arrived Martin gifted goodies, Martin quickly responded to any problem. Jogging with dawn and breakfast by the ocean will never be forgotten!

  • Just spent three nights in Ireland staying at An Cuan. This was our first trip to Ireland and won’t be our last! The accommodation is superb and has beautiful views from the lounge. The extensive welcome pack was very much appreciated and saved us shopping on arrival. Martin and Claire gave us some tips of where to visit and eat which was extremely helpful. Thank you both so much for making our stay so easy and enjoyable. We even had great weather!
